Chapter 13
"Abella, what do you think of the surprise?" Beckett started to say, but then he noticed Lola standing there. He looked a bit shocked, "Lola? Weren't you supposed to get here tomorrow afternoon? How come you're here today?"
Lola was a bit thrown off when she heard Beckett say the surprise was for this girl. She couldn't figure out why her parents were so into someone they'd never even met.
But with Abella right there, she kept her cool and smiled, "Dad, Mom, I caught a ride on a friend's plane and got here early. Who's this?"
Beckett, not expecting Lola to show up out of the blue, quickly smiled, "Perfect timing! Let me introduce you. This is Abella, your sister!"
Wait, could Abella be some distant relative?
The girl was dressed pretty simply and didn't look like she was from a close branch of the family. All their close relatives were either loaded or had some high status.
A distant relative dressed so plainly was probably here to suck up and borrow money, right?
Beckett had no clue what Lola was thinking. He turned to Abella and said, "Abella, this is Lola, the one I've told you about. She just finished her entrance exams and is on summer break. She'll be staying at home."
Abella's eyes sparkled with understanding, and she politely said, "Hello."
Lola gave a slight nod, flashing her socialite smile, and gently greeted, "Hello, Abella."
Even though she greeted her, Lola didn't take Abella seriously at all, just thinking of her as some poor relative.
"Mr. Medici, Mrs. Medici, the clothes, shoes, and bags you ordered have arrived. The brand's representative personally delivered them; they're inside," a maid announced.
Kimberly was thrilled, grabbing Abella's hand, "Let's go in and see if you like them. Lola, I need to talk to you later."
Lola was stunned. Those gorgeous clothes, shoes, and bags inside were actually for Abella?
Who exactly was Abella?
Why were her parents giving her so much attention?
With Beckett and Kimberly by her side, Abella walked to the main hall, where the brand representative was already waiting respectfully.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Medici, Mrs. Medici. I'm Jack Brown, the representative of QY Brand. You can call me Jack. These clothes and bags are the latest creations of our brand's founder, Lady Margaret. I heard they were ordered for your daughter?"
"Yes," Kimberly said, looking at the beautiful clothes and bags with satisfaction, "Lady Margaret's new works are indeed extraordinary. Abella, come and see if you like them?"
Jack's eyes followed her gaze, and his smile froze instantly.
Abella had a delicate and pretty face, with clear and bright eyes. The key was, Abella looked exactly like his boss!
Jack was stunned for a long time, his eyes repeatedly scanning Abella from head to toe. Every strand of hair, every expression was identical to those of his boss's!
How could this be?
Three years ago, his boss founded QY Brand under the name "Lady Margaret," designing every piece herself.
Because of the unique and innovative styles and excellent fit, and each piece being a one-off, it quickly gained fame in high society and was pursued by many socialites, heiresses, and celebrities.
Soon after, his boss launched her own line of shoes and bags, shaking up the entire fashion world.
Her designs won a ton of international awards, and in just three years, QY Brand went from a no-name to a top-tier brand.
Loads of high-end brands tried to hire Lady Margaret or buy QY Brand, but she turned them all down flat.
"Abella, if there's anything you don't like, just let Jack know. He's the brand rep," Kimberly said warmly.
Since the founder of QY never showed her face and focused only on creating, Jack handled all the public stuff.
Right now, Jack was trying to keep his cool and bowed respectfully, "Miss, may I know your name?"
"My name is Abella Medici."
Seeing her raised eyebrows and hearing her voice, Jack was sure she was his boss!
Could someone explain what was going on?
How could his boss be the daughter of the richest man in the country?
With all that money, why did she start a brand and make more money? How could anyone else compete?
Wait, wasn't the richest man's daughter only Lola?
Could Abella be an illegitimate child? One who was kept out of the public eye?
But if she was hidden, why would Kimberly let her be here and spoil her so much?
Abella originally thought her stocks could last at least six months, during which she wouldn't need to design and could focus on drug research and other side gigs.
But unexpectedly, her parents bought all her stock, some of which were her early designs and looked kinda rough.
"Ms. Abella Medici, your name is kinda similar to our brand founder's. Do you know my boss?" Jack asked.
"No." Abella denied it quickly. Jack got the hint that the others probably didn't know Abella's true identity!
"You are truly lucky to have such loving parents. These clothes are the founder's masterpieces, perfectly fitting your noble status!" Jack said.
"Abella, check out this casual outfit. It would look awesome on you," Beckett pointed to a set of clothes on the display rack.
"Lady Margaret's works are indeed unique. Look at this dress," Kimberly held the dress up to Abella, "I can already picture how stunning you'll look in it!"
"Abella, don't you girls love white sneakers? How about this pair?" Beckett held up a pair of white sneakers in front of Abella.
"Abella, how about this bag?" Kimberly took down a bag, "It seems made just for you. It would look great on you!"
Abella's eyes sparkled, her demeanor elegant as she was listening to them talk.
She was already striking in appearance, with clear, bright eyes, a mix of coolness and sweetness, giving her an indescribable charm.
Beside her, Lola's face had turned pale, her expression beyond shocked.
She couldn't believe it!
What exactly was going on?
Why were her parents treating this girl like a daughter and giving her so many limited edition clothes?
As they were all fawning over Abella with such care, a sense of panic surged in her heart, making her anxious and uneasy.
What had happened during the month she stayed at school?
