24. Want to Know More

"Which one do you want to eat?" Leo asked me after he finished putting all the food on the table.

"Can't Natasya and Rose eat with us?" I asked Leo and Sam. I honestly felt bad for them.

"Why?" Sam asked me.

"Is it wrong to invite them to lunch together?" I asked Sam back.

"There's no need. They're used to eating lunch on their own. Besides, Leo and I never eat with them except during client meetings at restaurants." Sam explained to me.

I was a little scared when Sam flatly rejected my suggestion. Sam is really someone who is assertive and difficult to get close to. I was so grateful to be close friends with Sam.

"Please eat it, just don't talk." Leo took the fried chicken and devoured it immediately.

Sam and I immediately grabbed the food we wanted to eat.

"Bay the way, sorry for being presumptuous. But where are your parents? How come you two live together? Are you two brothers?" I asked Sam and Leo. It's not that I'm being presumptuous, it's just that I'm very curious about this.

Sam looked at me after I asked him and Leo that question. I was honestly a little scared by Sam's gaze.

"Why do you want to know?" Sam asked me. Sam's voice really sounded flat and cold.

"Eumm... I'm just curious," I replied.

"Is there any particular reason why you're asking us that? Why so suddenly?" Leo asked me. Leo asked with his mouth full from chewing food.

"No, no. I don't have any particular reason. I'm just curious, why are you two living together and where are your parents? They're never seen visiting your apartment. But if you don't want to answer I won't force you either. I just wanted to ask because I was curious." I felt a little guilty for asking Sam and Leo personal questions.

Leo laughed softly. "Why did you look scared on that bike?" Leo asked me.

"We're not going to eat you just because you asked about the bike." Leo shook his head at my slightly frightened face.

My face was not cooperative. Even though I was desperately trying to hide my fear, my face was expressing it clearly.

"Sam and I are close friends. We're like brothers. We've been friends since childhood because our parents are also friends. My parents and Sam's parents are overseas. Now they don't focus on work anymore. My parents and Sam's parents chose to live abroad because they wanted to find a new atmosphere. Sometimes they even move around the country because they want to enjoy their old age by traveling the world." Leo told me his answer, and I was amazed to know that Leo and Sam's parents chose to spend their time traveling the world. That's one of my dreams too.

"Business matters, they leave it to their confidants. And to us too, of course." Leo continued his words.

"Sam and I also want to be great people like our parents. That's why Sam and I decided to build our business together. This is my and Sam's business, this company. And we've expanded our company elsewhere. Outside the city and overseas." Leo smiled proudly as he told me.

"Even so, we're nothing compared to our wonderful parents. Even if we just sit around not working, our parents' money is able to support us. That's how great our parents are. That's why Sam and I are determined to be great parents like our parents." Leo smiled sweetly. There was sincerity on his face. Leo and Sam are truly devoted and hardworking children. Their parents were lucky to have their bicycle children.

"Then do your parents live near Sam's parents?" I asked again, just to make sure.

"No, they don't. They are in different countries. Sometimes they live in the same country, but sometimes they live in different countries too." Leo answered my question. I nodded in understanding.

"My parents are living in Japan right now." I looked toward the source of the voice. It turned out to be Sam's voice. Finally Sam spoke too. I was scared because Sam was silent, I thought Sam was angry with me.

"And my parents are in Switzerland right now." Leo replied to Sam's words.

"Two years ago our parents lived in the house next door. When they lived in Spain. Right, Sam? Do you still remember that we visited them in Spain two years ago?" Leo asked Sam.

I looked at Sam, Sam looked at Leo for a moment. Then Sam answered briefly. "Yes. I remember."

I shook my head, speechless. I didn't expect a rich man who traveled the world and was free to go anywhere he wanted to exist in the real world.

This conversation only comforted my poverty.

"What else do you want to know? Just ask now. Instead of dying of curiosity." Leo took a bite of the pizza he was holding.

Sam looked at Leo with his serious gaze, then a few seconds later Sam immediately shook his head.

"Do your parents never visit your apartment?" I asked again. Leo had asked me to ask, so I was going to use this golden moment.

"They have. Before they traveled the world and moved far and wide, they used to visit us at the apartment. But after they moved, Sam and I would visit them when we had time." Leo answered my question.

I nodded in understanding. "Okay. Now I understand."

"You two are so great. Being able to live successfully with your own hard work. I'll take a lot of lessons from you two." Honestly, the more I get to know Sam and Leo, the more I admire them.

"Hahaha... we're not that great, Ana. But Sam and I are always grateful for what we achieve with our hard work." Leo really seems to have positive vibes.

"That's it. There's no need for so much drama. Just eat your food. Do you want to eat or chat? We're here to eat, the food is already in front of us. Please eat." Sam reprimanded me and Leo who had been chatting away.

Despite the chatter, Leo ate his pizza and fried chicken with gusto. Unlike me. While chatting, I stopped eating, because I was very excited to listen to all of Leo's answers.

Having been reprimanded by Sam, I immediately ate the pizza that was in front of me. As for Leo, he just laughed to see me a little frightened at Sam's reprimand.
