10. An Unexpected Night

It was a very sunny day. The clear sky decorated with the chirping of birds makes anyone who sees it feel calm.

"Let's go play in the water." Leo invited Sam and Ana to play in the water at the beach. Leo, Sam, and Ana were currently sunbathing on the beach while enjoying the view of people playing in the sand.

"It's just you. Why did you have to invite me?" Sam didn't seem interested in playing in the water.

"Why take you? It's because I'm here to have fun with my friends. What's the point of playing alone? You're so weird." Leo stood up, he cleaned his sandy hands.

"Come on, Ana. Stand up." Leo extended his hand to Ana. Ana took Leo's hand and Leo helped Ana up.

"You want help standing up too? You don't have the strength to stand up?" Leo asked Sam.

Sam chuckled in annoyance. He didn't want to fight with Leo, so it was better for Sam to follow Leo's wishes.

"I see. Let's go there quickly. Let's play in the water." Leo ran after the waves, as did Ana. Ana also looked as enthusiastic as Leo. As for Sam, he walked leisurely after the two of them.

"ANA! WHAT IF THERE ARE SHARKS HERE?" Leo shouted asking Ana while playing in the water.

"SHARKS? OF COURSE IF THERE ARE SHARKS HERE I'LL RUN AWAY. I DON'T WANT TO BE EATEN BY A SHARK." Ana also answered Leo's question by shouting. Ana and Leo were not too far away, but the sound of the strong waves made their hearing a little disturbed.

"HAHAHAHA... YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN! IF A SHARK COMES HERE, IT WILL LEAVE IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE IT SEES SAM. EVEN SHARKS ARE AFRAID OF SAM." Leo teased Sam while laughing out loud.

Ana who heard Leo's words also burst out laughing.

"Sam, come here! You haven't bathed yet? I'll give you a saltwater bath." Leo ran after Sam. Then Leo pulled Sam and pushed Sam into the water.

Ana laughed at the funny fight between Leo and Sam.

"It turns out they won a close friendship." Ana thought to herself.

"It turns out Sam can laugh too. I thought he could only be snappy. Hahaha ...." Ana smiled at the warm interaction between Sam and Leo.

"If Sam laughs a lot like this, his fierce face disappears instantly. That's better. Makes him more handsome." Ana thought to herself.

"Ana!!! Why are you still there? Come here!" Leo ran over to Ana, then Leo pushed Ana into the water, just like when Leo pushed Sam earlier.

Ana, who was not ready, was immediately surprised. She fell down and crashed into Sam.

"Sorry." Ana apologized awkwardly to Sam.

Sam didn't reply to Ana's words. Sam stood up, Sam pulled Leo and pushed Leo to the ground. "Hahahaha... 1-1." Sam laughed at Leo's fall.

Leo smiled wryly. He immediately stood up and pushed Sam again. But Sam persisted and pushed Leo back. Sam and Leo ended up pushing and shoving. Ana could only laugh at the behavior of the two of them.

"Let's attack Ana! She's been laughing at us ever since!" Leo invited Sam to attack Ana.

Sam smiled, then nodded quickly.

Leo raised one hand. "ATTACK ANA!!!" Leo shouted loudly.

Ana was wide-eyed, she was shocked as Leo and Sam walked towards where she stood.

Ana panicked, then she ran as fast as she could.

"Chase Ana!!! Ana, you'll lose if you run a race with a wolf. Hahahahahaa ...." Leo laughed, and he and Sam ran after Ana.

"No!! don't chase me. You guys attack each other, not me!" Ana was still running away from Sam and Leo who were chasing her.

"HAHAHA... HOW COULD WE LET GO OF OUR PREY WHO HAD BEEN LAUGHING AT US. YOU'RE FINISHED, ANAAAAA... HAHAHAHA ...." Leo laughed wickedly, he was really doing his best to scare Ana.

Ana was getting more and more panicked. She ran fast while looking back, seeing her distance from Sam and Leo.

Running too fast and not paying attention to her steps, Ana tripped over a small rock on the beach.

Ana had resigned herself to being injured by the fall. Not only was she hurt, but she had to bear the embarrassment as well. She had completely given up.

Ana wrinkled her forehead. "How come I don't feel any pain? When I fell, did my life immediately leave my body so I don't feel any pain?" Ana talked to herself.

Ana's eyes were still closed. "Certainly, I seem to be dead. Ah, what a shame to die from falling over a small rock. My life is so unlucky." Ana monologued again.

"If you're afraid of death and afraid of the shame of tripping over a rock, then be careful. Look at the road when you walk and run, instead of looking behind you."

Ana was shocked, her eyes immediately opened wide. And once again Ana was shocked, even more shocked when she opened her eyes and there in front of her was Sam.

"Are there people in heaven who resemble people who are still alive on earth?" Ana asked.

"Who said you're already in heaven? Why are you so confident? You could be in hell when you die." Sam answered Ana's question.

"So I'm not dead yet?" asked Ana innocently.

"Of course not! Get up quickly! My hands are aching. You're very heavy." Sam asked Ana to stand up properly. Sam, who caught Ana before she fell, felt sore.

Ana quickly stood up. She swallowed her saliva with difficulty. "What is this? Did Sam just help me?" Ana asked silently.

"Ana! Are you okay?" Leo ran over to Ana and Sam.

Ana smiled awkwardly. "I'm fine," Ana replied.

"You should be more careful next time." Sam reminded Ana again.

Ana smiled awkwardly. Then she nodded her head. "Thank you," she said.

Sam didn't answer, he just gave a small nod.

"Sam, I want to talk to you." Leo called out to Sam.

"Ana, you wait here for a moment. I want to talk to Sam." Leo pulled Sam's hand away from Ana.

"What's wrong?" Sam asked Leo once they were away from Ana.

"Rocky just called me," Leo said.

Sam wrinkled his forehead. "Why?" he asked.

"Rocky said there's something fishy on the border of my territory. Someone is attacking the border. I need to go there to check what's going on." Leo explained to Sam.

"Alright. If there's anything call me," Sam said.

"You don't have to be fierce. Take good care of Ana. Think of her as your friend, and we are friends now. Think of Ana as me. Don't be fierce, Ana will be afraid of you. Do you want to be feared by a human being, like a demon. If you can be friends, why should you be enemies?" Before leaving Leo gave Sam some advice.

Sam cleared his throat. "Hmm... alright," he replied.

"Alright, I'm leaving now." Sam said goodbye.

"Take care. If there's anything, call me immediately." Sam advised Leo.

Leo nodded his head, then Leo immediately left Sam.

After Leo's departure, Sam went straight back to Ana.

When Sam reached Ana, Ana immediately asked where Leo had gone. "Where did Leo go?" Ana asked Sam.

"There's an urgent matter, and Leo needs to finish it immediately. If he has time, he'll come back. But if not, he won't be back soon." Sam answered Ana.

"What business, so it's just the two of us?" Ana asked again.

"Why do you want to know? If I tell you, you won't understand. What's the big deal about living together anyway? Is it wrong? Do you not like me?" Sam asked Ana. It seemed that Sam felt offended by Ana's words.

Ana smiled forcefully. "No, of course I like you as much as Leo."

"Then let's go." Sam took Ana away.

"Why go? I still want to play in the water." Ana wasn't satisfied playing yet.

"The weather is very hot. We'd better eat," Sam said.

"Wait a minute. Really, I still want to play. Watch the waves and the sea." Ana looked out to the open sea, she marveled at the vastness of the sea.

"Later in the evening. My skin is already burning. Let's go." Sam forced Ana to come with him to leave the place.

Sam took Ana back to the hotel. They would clean up, and then they would eat at a nearby restaurant.

*****

It was already nighttime, tonight unlike the previous night when it rained heavily. Tonight is very clear, the sky is beautifully star-studded and illuminated by the beautiful moonlight.

"You have to keep your promise." Ana walked over to Sam and stood in front of Sam who was playing with his cell phone on the sofa.

Sam looked at Ana. "My promise?" Sam did not remember anything.

"You! Why are you so senile? You told me this afternoon that you would take me to the beach at night. It's already night. Let's go to the beach." Ana reminded Sam of her promise.

"I was just talking. Not a promise." Sam replied silently.

"Come on. I really want to see the sea. The weather is good too, the sky is beautiful with lots of stars. The moon is also very beautiful and bright." Ana invited Sam back.

"I don't want to. You're on your own." Sam focused on her phone again.

"But you promised me this afternoon." Ana's face looked glum.

"I told you I didn't want to? Why did you insist? Never mind. Get lost." Sam shooed Ana away.

Ana sighed. She was really sad that Sam didn't keep his promise.

Ana left Sam, she went to the window. Ana opened the curtains of the window, then she looked at the beach and the sky with her sad face.

"If only Leo was here. Surely Leo would take me to see the beach and the clear night sky." Ana sighed. Leo was the best...

Sam put down his phone, he looked at Ana standing at the window.

Sam sighed. He felt bad for Ana.

Sam stood up and walked over to Ana. "Let's go." Sam invited Ana.

Ana was surprised. She wrinkled her forehead in confusion.

"Let's go. You said you wanted to see the beach." Sam repeated his words.

"To the beach? Seriously?" Ana was still surprised that Sam suddenly asked her to the beach.

"Do you want to go?" Sam asked again.

"Of course I want to!! yes!! I finally got to see the beach at night. Hooray!!! ...." Ana smiled widely, she jumped in pleasure.

Sam smiled slightly. Then he walked to get his jacket, after which he walked out of the room. Ana, who was very enthusiastic, immediately followed Sam's steps.

They walked for about 10 minutes, and now they had reached the beach.

The sky was very clear, adding to the beauty of this night.

"Wow, this is really amazing. The sky is really beautiful." Ana marveled at the star-studded sky.

"It turns out that the beach is more beautiful at night. Especially on a clear night." Ana smiled happily.

Ana walked down the beach. Sam, who was beside Ana, couldn't help but follow her.

Ana hugged her own body, it turned out that the night wind was blowing quite strong and made her cold.

Sam saw Ana was cold. Then he chuckled, "Why didn't she bring a jacket when it's nighttime? How careless." Sam grumbled to himself.

Sam took off the jacket he was wearing and put it on Ana. "Put this jacket on. The wind is too strong. You'll be cold."

Ana was a little surprised that Sam gave her a jacket. But Ana also felt grateful, because she really felt cold. "Thank you." Ana thanked Sam.

"Do you like looking at the night sky too?" Ana asked Sam.

"Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't," was the short reply.

"Do you like the beach too?" Ana asked again.

"Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't." Sam gave the same answer.

Ana snorted in annoyance. "Why do you keep answering like that?" Ana asked.

"Yes, because that's the truth. Feelings can change with time or circumstances. So my answer is sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't." Sam explained to Ana.

Ana nodded in understanding. She finally knew why Sam answered like that.

The night wind was blowing harder and harder. The air became bone-chillingly cold.

"The wind is getting stronger. Let's go back to the hotel." Sam invited Ana back.

"Wait a minute. I don't want to go back yet." Ana refused, she didn't want to go back yet.

"But the wind is so strong, you'll get sick from this kind of night wind." Sam forced Ana to return to the hotel.

"But I still remember enjoying the beauty of this night." Ana smiled, she looked up at the sky.

Ana frowned when she saw that the sky had turned dark.

"It looks like it's about to rain. Let's go home." Sam insisted on taking Ana home.

"But I want to--"

Boom!!!

"AAAAAAAA!!!" Ana screamed in fear. Ana reflexively squatted down and covered her ears with her hands.

The sound of powerful thunder suddenly appeared, deafening everyone's ears. The stars in the sky were replaced with flashes of lightning. The sky that had been bright with moonlight was now pitch black with darkening clouds.

"I told you, let's go home. You're so stubborn." Sam scolded Ana.

The thunder and lightning continued to boom, and the wind grew stronger.

"Let's go home." Sam invited Ana to go home. But there was no response from Ana. Ana was still cowering in fear with her hands covering her ears.

"Didn't you hear? Let's go home." Sam repeated his words.

Unheeded, Sam forced Ana's hand to stand up.

Sam was surprised to see that Ana was crying silently.

"Are you crying? Why are you crying?" Sam asked Ana.

BOOM!!!!!!!

"AAAAAAAA!!!"

Like an explosion, the loud boom of thunder in the sky was heard again. Ana again screamed in fear, she again cowered in fear.

"It turns out that this girl is afraid of lightning and loud bangs." Sam thought to himself.

Sam sighed. Ana was really troublesome.

Sam helped Ana up, Sam was a little surprised because Ana's body was really shaking violently. Ana also looked weak. It looks like Ana is phobic or traumatized by lightning.

Sam hugged Ana. Ana still covered her ears with both hands. Seeing Ana like that, Sam brought Ana's head to lean against his chest so that Ana could not see the lightning flashes and feel a little comfortable.

With that position, Sam walked Ana to the hotel. Sam walked very slowly because Ana was really weak, her legs were also shaking violently.

Just as they were walking, a drizzle had already fallen soaking the earth.

Not wanting to get wet in the rain, Sam quickly carried Ana. Sam carried Ana like a koala. Ana hid her face in Sam's broad chest. Now Ana's hands did not cover her ears, but she used them to hug Sam's body tightly. Ana was afraid of falling if she didn't hug Sam.

Sam walked fast to avoid the rain. Regardless of people seeing them, all Sam cared about was getting to the hotel quickly.

Arriving at the hotel, Sam laid Ana down on the bed.

Ana was still crying. She covered her ears with both hands.

Sam is confused by Ana's current state.

Sam watches Ana, his forehead wrinkling as he sees Ana's sweaty body.

"It's so cold, why is she sweating?" Sam asked himself.

Sam looked back at Ana, he saw that she was having trouble breathing. Her body was also still shaking violently.

"What's wrong with you?" Sam sat next to Ana.

"Are you really afraid of lightning like that? Are you lightning phobic?" Sam asked Ana.

Sam was worried to see that Ana seemed to be having trouble breathing.

"What should I do? What should I do? Please calm yourself down. We've reached the hotel, it's okay. You won't see any more lightning." Sam calmed Ana down.

"Calm down, you're safe here. I'll turn off the lights so you can sleep well." Sam stood up, then she adjusted the light in the hotel room, dimming the lights so that the hotel room would be dark and Ana could sleep peacefully.

"AAAA!!! MAMA!!! MAMA! NO! NO!!!" Ana screamed loudly, she cried hysterically as the room went dark.

Sam was shocked, Sam immediately ran over to Ana.

"Hey! What's wrong? What's wrong with you? Calm down." Sam tried to calm Ana down.

"Mom... Ana is scared, Mom. Scared...." Ana cried, her cries getting more hysterical.

Sam was confused, he didn't know what to do.

Sam grabbed Ana's hand. Then he stroked Ana's hand to calm her down. "Hey, calm down. I'm here. You'll be safe with me. Calm down." Sam calmed Ana down.

"You should go to sleep. I will accompany you to sleep. It's okay, you won't get hurt. No one will hurt you. There's no need to be afraid of anything, I'm here. You're safe with me." Sam wrapped her arms around Ana, not releasing her hold on Ana.

Sam moved to Ana's side, Sam laid himself down next to Ana. Sam's hand still held Ana's hand tightly.

"Sleep facing me. You won't be afraid because I'm by your side." Sam turned Ana's body to face him.

"Go to sleep." Sam patted Ana's arm gently.

Sam was really considerate and cared for Ana. Behind Sam's coldness, Sam was a good guy. To be more precise, Sam was a tsundere type of guy.

Sam did not let go of their challenging grip. Sam also continued to gently pat Ana's arm. Sam continued to observe Ana. His eyes did not escape Ana's movements.

Ana also calmed down a bit after getting support from Sam.

I wonder how they will end up tomorrow. Because the two of them don't get along, and currently they are sleeping together with a very close distance. Tomorrow's events are unpredictable, will their relationship get closer or more awkward?
