Chapter 9: My Sisters Quest

POV Isabella

This was a new beginning for me as I now knew I had an identical twin sister; it was the most exhilarating experience. I think we can join forces and figure out our identity. Sophia and I are wrapped together in the same quilt of our destinies, and we will figure out where we need to go from here.

My parents left me with Sophia. They paid for an apartment for us off campus but within walking distance. Their gift was a car for graduation. Now Sophia has access to a car and can drive me to my appointments. We went to the central administrative office and ensured we were listed as siblings and our records were straightened. Sophia's parents met my parents, and as they communicated, they realised they were lucky to have Sophia as a daughter. When they saw how warmly my parents treated me, I guess they learned a lesson from my mom and dad on how to treat their daughter with love. These days, they are not as aloof with her but ensure she feels loved. I was fortunate that Sophia's parents included me in some of their pack festivities, and we were treated well by everyone except Beta Vincent, who was the coldest man I had ever met.

Sophia Told me that she secretly liked Douglas and the Beta but would eventually have to choose one. She told them about her quest to find her identity and that Douglas and Beta Vincent accompanied her. She said that through this mission, they became close and met this magical being in The Forbidden Cave. She said that I had to experience it to understand. She explained that the mystical creature called them children of the Moon, and when she said that, something triggered in my mind.

I asked her, Wait a minute, how long was I gone for when I was unconscious? She said only two days. I told her about the events when I was out of my body in the magical place with the mystical creatures and the goddess I encountered. I described her to Sophia, and her eyes widened. I told her that she was beautiful and surrounded by blue light that formed a halo around her body and that I never saw her mouth move, but I could hear her speaking to me. She gave me a scent, and It was familiar. I had smelt it before but couldn't put a person to the scent. She asked what the smell was, and I told her Rosemary and Ginger; she said, "Beta Vincent smelled like rosemary, and Douglas smelled like ginger. She does not know anyone who has a blend of the scents. Sophia told me she had many dreams of a magical person that fit that description. She wondered how this person came into our lives and what part she played in our separation.

We decided to hang out with Patrick to see if he had a scent, but I knew Patrick was human, so he did not. To me, all humans smelt the same, full of radiation from the sun. Sophia asked me if I would like her to accompany me back to the Forbidden Cave, and I told her yes, but when I have recovered, we will set the time. We also decided to exchange places as a prank the following summer to see if our families would figure out who we were. This exchange was going to be fun.

When I was better, we hung out with Patrick as we were investigating if he was part of my attack. When he saw us, he came over and hugged us. He said that he was sorry that he was not there with me when I was attacked. He was stoned, and someone tied him up in the private room we were in before I left the building, and the person who tried to harm me was threatening him through me. He, too, will be investigating who put my life in danger. He said he did not think they meant to hurt me; instead, it was a warning. Sophia jumped up and said, "There would be no next time. Isabella, dissociate yourself from this man right now. I cannot lose my sister; I just found you." Patrick asked what did you say? She said we are sisters, and you cannot put my sister in harm's way again, Patrick, so leave her alone.

Her words to Patrick seemed to have triggered a weird mentality, and he pursued me with more courage and vitality. He sought me out no matter where I went, even when I thought I was hiding.

He made me feel suffocated and stalked. I could not tell my sister this, or she would get even with him. She was twice as aggressive as I was. She is not afraid of danger and will never cringe like I did.

One day, I told Sophia what I went through as a child. She was livid and said when she got to New York, she would be getting back at Patrice when I told her that someone had hit me on the back of my head because I believed that Sue set me up. She placed Sue on the list to get even with as well. My sister became my knight in shining armour. With her around, I do not think anyone could ever bully me again.

Our halos became brighter when we held each other's hands. My pink and her blue blended. It was a fantastic sight to behold. While I had knowledge and sight, we realised she had wisdom and sight. When we concentrate, we can see past, present and future things. Sometimes, in my past life, I was Belle. La Belle, Bella and Isabella. Although all this knowledge lay before us, we could not figure out how we were separated and why we came back together. It seemed as if destiny was pushing us at a breakneck speed to encounter and intertwine our futures together.

We wondered why we did not shift and were already eighteen and why we did not recognise our Fated Mates yet. It is mysterious to us, but we will find out together. One night, I saw a blue glow from Sophia's room, and a force pushed me to it. I rapped on her door, and she opened it, but she was not behaving normally and in a trance. She walked to me and raised her hand. I placed my hand without thinking, and we were both in a trance. as we transcended to another world.

In this altered world, we were floating on a cloud that took us to a house in a far place. There was nothing surrounding this house as it stood by itself in space. We entered and were instantly in a room. We tried to open the doors and could not get out, and our wolves started to speak. They asked, "Why are we here?' A voice said, "We called you forth." "When will we leave?" our wolves asked; the voice said, "When we think you will follow our instructions. You will tell your other sisters to leave the battle to us." Our wolves asked, "What battle?" The voice said, "It is coming soon." We were tired and thirsty, but we did not utter a word when the door was opened. Heavily armed guards brought in food and water to us.

We were trapped in a time capsule. We could not leave and wondered if we were missing class and what would become of our grades. When the voice said, a minute in your world is like a thousand years here. Our wolves asked if the voice was over a thousand years old. She said, "Yes." Mother wants me to oversee all her daughters, including you two. We are subdivided into groups, keeping watch over the world. We asked who are you, and who are we?" The voice chuckled and said you will find out. I was having illusion after illusion. I saw myself dying several times in my years. The voice said you two have to redeem yourselves. Only then will you be able to find your true identity." Sophia disagreed. She said that is not what the wise one said, "She said, "He is Mother's guardian. Not yours.

By this time, we were getting frustrated by the minute. It seemed as if she was taking us in circles as we were experiencing losses of each other time and time again. She was torturing us. Sophia said she could see herself losing her loved ones, meaning Douglas and Beta Vincent, over and over again, and she could do nothing about it. This voice played tricks on us as I saw Sophia agonising over her past. I could not see the faces of my loved ones; they were present, but their faces were unobservable. Not knowing who they were was frustrating to me. I was about to lose it; we felt our bodies moving to another plane. Sophia mind-linked me and said her quest was nothing like this. It was too weird. This had to be an altered experience.
