Chapter 61 You’re not married yet!
Lydia and Lambert were out buying groceries for dinner, but back at SAC Corporation, Andrew wore a mask of melancholy.
Lambert! The man who’s like a myth in the business world turns out to be Wythe’s father.
And judging by Lydia’s demeanor, they must have been in contact all this time.
Does that mean he has no chance at all?
Andrew stood despondently by the floor–to–ceiling window in his office, filled with determination.
He wouldn’t give up! Despite years of secret admiration and waiting, he couldn’t let Lambert win just
because he seemed unbeatable.
He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, they were filled with determination.
He wouldn’t give up!
Since they had some time, Lambert and Lydia went together to pick up their son, Wythe, from daycare.
As Wythe happily joined his classmates, he was pleasantly surprised to see both his mommy and daddy
there to pick him up!
With a broad smile, Wythe hurried forward, “Daddy! Mommy!”
Seeing his son’s joyful expression, Lambert’s heart warmed. He reached out and lifted Wythe into his arms, planting a kiss on his little cheek.
A girl who had accompanied Wythe came forward, “Wythe, these are your mommy and daddy!”
Wythe furrowed his brows, “Yeah, so what’s the matter? Didn’t I tell you not to follow me?”
The girl looked crestfallen, “But I’m going to marry you when I grow up! Of course, I have to follow you!”
“I don’t want to marry you! You’re ugly and dumb! And you always cry!”
The girl’s lips quivered, tears welling up in her big eyes. Lydia quickly stepped forward to comfort her, Don’t cry, sweetheart. Let me scold him for you!”
As Lydia scolded Wythe, Lambert leaned in and whispered to him, “Son, have you forgotten your
manners?”
Reluctantly, Wythe muttered an apology. The girl, named Pearl, smiled through her tears, “My name is Pearl. Remember me, okay? I’m going to marry into your family! Bye, Auntie! Bye, Uncle!”

With that, Pearl bounced away, bidding Wythe goodbye until tomorrow.

Wythe, feeling annoyed, buried his head in Lambert’s shoulder. Lydia, after a moment of surprise, couldn’t help but laugh. Kids these days, talking about marriage at such a young age?
Once they were in the cat, and Wythe had settled in the backseat with Lydia, she teased him, “Wow! You’ve only been to school for a few days, and already, a cute girl likes you?”
Wythe pouted, “She just came over to play with me! I don’t like playing with boring kids!”
“Haha!”
Lydia chuckled, patting Wythe’s head. “Mommy isn’t scolding you. Mommy is happy! You won’t have to worry about getting married in the future!”
Wythe shot her a disdainful glance, “I won’t have to worry about that, as long as you take care of yourself!
You’re not married yet!”
Lydia felt a bit awkward at Wythe’s remark, but Lambert, who was driving, smoothly interjected, “As long as your mommy is willing, I can prepare for the wedding anytime!”
Embarrassed by Lambert’s words, Lydia felt it was a bit too soon for wedding talk!
However, Wythe seemed intrigued and started discussing wedding details with Lambert, leaving Lydia feeling even more embarrassed.
The conversation got so intense that Lydia felt like she was burning up!
It wasn’t until they reached the gate of their neighborhood that Lydia, with a stern tone, managed to
redirect the conversation.
She was thoroughly exasperated.
Dinner was prepared by Lydia and Lambert together, though Lydia handled the cooking while Lambert… contributed by being mischievous!
By the time they finished dinner, Lydia’s face had flushed again with the heat dissipating.
After dinner, the family cleaned up and settled on the sofa to watch TV. Lambert and Lydia sat close together, while Wythe was comfortably nestled in Lambert’s lap.
The ordinary warmth of the moment made Lydia feel content. She turned to look at Lambert, her heart inexplicably softening.
At this moment, she was grateful to have him, not just because he was Wythe’s father, but because he always brought her indescribable emotional experiences.
Lowering her eyes, Lydia’s heart swelled with fervor. In this moment, she fully understood: she was in

love with this man!
It wasn’t just a simple fondness or a casual liking; it was love! It was the kind of love that wanted to engrave him in her heart forever!
But then, Lydia felt a pang of unease. She didn’t know if this outstanding man felt the same way about
her.
Despite seeming devoted to her and dominating her life, could he truly love her?
With his excellence, there must be many equally excellent women around him. Could he really spend his
life with her?
Sensing Lydia’s gaze, Lambert slightly tilted his head and then wrapped his arm around her shoulder, allowing her to rest her head on his shoulder.
Though he didn’t know what was on her mind, comforting his woman in times of doubt was a quality of a
good man.
At least, he wouldn’t allow his woman to show such an insecure expression and anxious gaze.
Resting on Lambert’s shoulder, Lydia gradually felt at ease. The refreshing scent of mint made her feel
drowsy, and she couldn’t help but yawn.
“Mommy, are you going to sleep? Don’t forget what you promised us in the morning!”
Lydia, half–awake, asked, “What promise?”
“Of course, it’s about our family sleeping together, Mommy. You didn’t forget, did you?” Wythe pouted, as
if he was about to cry in the next second!
“Of course not!”
As Lydia finished speaking, she noticed Wythe and Lambert high–fiving, and she couldn’t help but feel annoyed, “You two are teaming up to tease me! That’s too much!”
Turning her back, her shoulders trembling, Lydia seemed to be on the verge of tears.
Lambert and Wythe glanced at each other, then stepped forward at the same time.
But before they could do anything, Lydia started tickling Wythe and Lambert, only to find out that they
were not ticklish!
Instead, she ended up laughing until tears streamed down her face!
In the end, all three of them lay on Lydia’s bed in a completely undignified manner, laughing at each other’s disheveled appearance.
And of course, just as agreed earlier, they spent the night together as a family.
