Chapter 22 Could it really be him?
When Lydia woke up, the sunlight outside was just right, making her eyes sting as she opened them.
She instinctively raised a hand to shield herself from the sun, reflecting on everything that had happened yesterday. She felt a sudden pang of embarrassment.
She couldn’t believe she had exposed her most disheveled self to a man she somewhat fancied.
And to make matters worse, she had blindly followed him home. Though nothing seemed out of line between them yesterday, she couldn’t help but blush.
“You’re awake?”
A low, seductive voice slipped into Lydia’s ears, causing her to involuntarily look up.
The man in front of her seemed to have just come out of the bathroom, his hair still dripping, clad only in casual pants.
His upper body was bare, the sunlight accentuating his bronzed skin, accentuating his muscular physique. Lydia couldn’t help but marvel at his perfect muscle definition.
As a fashion designer, Lydia had seen plenty of male models shirtless, but this man, who seemed to be an office worker, had a physique that made her blush and her heart race.
Lydia couldn’t help but look away, but his impressive physique continued to draw her gaze. It was a professional hazard, after all!
Lambert’s dark eyes sparkled with amusement as he raised an eyebrow at Lydia’s scrutiny. “Good?”
Flushed, Lydia quickly turned away, stuttering, “You, you should put on a shirt first.”
Lambert didn’t tease her further. He turned to the wardrobe to grab a shirt. Lydia stole a glance, but found
herself frozen.
Suddenly, Lambert’s silhouette seemed so familiar, reminiscent of someone from her memories.
Could it really be him?
Her heart skipped a beat involuntarily. Lydia raised a hand to her chest, feeling her heart race. It was clear to her that she might be developing feelings for this man.
Sensing Lydia’s gaze, Lambert turned around and caught her staring.
Without further ado, Lambert went back to the bathroom and returned with a towel. Lydia, puzzled, didn’t get a chance to ask before the towel covered her eyes.
“Hiss…”

The icy touch sent shivers down Lydia’s spine. But the coolness of the towel eased the discomfort in her eyes, warming her heart. Lambert had noticed her swollen eyes?
Hearing Lydia’s gasp, Lambert grew concerned. “Does it hurt?”
Gradually getting used to the temperature, Lydia replied softly, “It’s okay, just a bit uncomfortable
because it’s cold.”
“Good, the coldness will reduce the swelling.”
Lydia felt Lambert’s large hand covering her face. Though separated by the towel, she could feel the
warmth emanating from him.
They were so close she could hear his breathing and smell the fresh scent of mint on him. 1
The atmosphere became ambiguous and awkward. Just as Lydia felt at a loss, Lambert removed the towel from her eyes. She was about to open them when she heard him gently instruct, “Wait a moment! I
have to do it twice.”
Lydia obediently kept her eyes closed. She was also a bit afraid to open them now, fearing her eyes would betray her emotions.
Lambert’s footsteps gradually moved away, then approached again. The towel covered her eyes once
more, this time warm and comforting.
After several repetitions, Lambert finally said, “Done.”
Lydia’s heart had been in turmoil throughout the alternating warmth and coolness of the towel. She felt
like she was going crazy.
If Lambert’s silhouette had reminded her of someone from six years ago, his voice now sounded even
more familiar.
Especially when she closed her eyes, the indifferent yet slightly affectionate voice filled her ears, taking her back to a night many years ago.
What was going on? Why was she making such unreliable associations? But she couldn’t help but
compare!
Stop it, stop!
As Lydia was lost in her thoughts, Lambert looked at her deeply.
For Lambert, last night had been both sweet and painful. Holding her tenderly, yet unable to do anything
more, he had to take several cold showers to calm himself.
He wasn’t a saint, but he didn’t want to treat her casually. She deserved the utmost respect.

But now, the woman in front of him had her eyes closed, her cheeks tinged with a shy blush, her long hair cascading over her shoulders. Her lips were slightly pursed, exuding a fatal allure.
Lambert sighed softly as he lowered his head to look at a certain disobedient part of himself.
It seemed like those showers had been in vain. But with such a beauty before him, he couldn’t resist any longer!
Before Lydia could open her eyes, his lips were already on hers.
The sudden warmth made Lydia abruptly open her eyes, only to involuntarily shut them again when she met his deep gaze. She subconsciously surrendered.
A gleam of pleasure flashed in Lambert’s eyes as he wrapped an arm around her slender waist, deepening the kiss.
His dominant tongue explored Lydia’s mouth gently, soothing her mouth and teeth one by one. Being a novice in this, Lydia felt dizzy. Ambiguous sighs escaped from their entwined mouths, tinting Lydia’s cheeks even redder.
In the brief pause for breath, Lydia shyly reached out to push Lambert away, but he firmly held her hand in his.
“Say my name.”
“Lambert…”
Obediently complying with Lambert’s request, her cherry lips uttered his name, causing a slight pause in Lambert’s body.
His eyes grew even hotter. Hearing his own name spoken by this woman’s mouth filled him with inexplicable satisfaction and joy.
A torrent of hot kisses obliterated Lydia’s rationality, and she even began to feel moved. She couldn’t help but hook her hand around Lambert’s neck, igniting his passion even further.
Lambert pressed his body against Lydia’s, his long, straight legs intertwining with hers, the fiery desire between them growing.
Delicate kisses trailed down Lydia’s neck to her exquisite collarbone, his teeth teasing the straps of her dress, revealing her smooth, round shoulders.
Lambert’s eyes reddened slightly, his breathing becoming hot and heavy. Lydia could even hear his heartbeat pounding in his chest, strangely comforting her.
It turned out she wasn’t the only one with a chaotic heart, nor was she the only one feeling emotional.
How wonderful!

Everything seemed to fall into place naturally. Perhaps Lydia had started falling for this man from the moment she got into the car with Lambert.
Her breathing became erratic, and soft moans escaped her pretty lips, sounding more melodious to Lambert than the most beautiful music in the world.
The hot lips and tongue wandered over Lydia’s body, savoring the sweetness of her skin. Lydia felt like a lamb being devoured by a hungry wolf, surrendering completely.
A strange yet vaguely familiar sensation emanated from every part of her body, making Lydia feel both
hot and ashamed. She simply covered her eyes with her hand, as if trying to block out the sounds.
Outside, the sunlight was bright, and indoors, the spring atmosphere was infinite.
“Like baby, baby, baby, oh Thought you’d always be mine, mine!”
The sudden ringtone startled Lydia. She pushed Lambert away abruptly, her face flushing as she grabbed
the phone from the bedside table.
Her heart was in turmoil; she had forgotten to call Wythe after staying out all night.
Lambert’s expression darkened at his own forgetfulness to turn off the phone. Seeing Lydia’s current
state, he knew they couldn’t continue. He couldn’t bear to force her, either.
Well, it was time for another cold shower.
