Chapter 8
A loud slap struck my face, and I stumbled backward, unprepared for the hit.
"Slapping your mouth always feels so great, haha!" Rylee seemed to have gone mad.
"Where is my sister? Where is she?" I covered my face, my gaze icy as I stared at Rylee. Her grotesque expression under the moonlight filled me with dread.
"Your sister? You still have time to worry about her?" As soon as she finished speaking, a man wearing a mask suddenly hugged me from behind.
I screamed, and the man chuckled sinisterly, pinning me to the ground. I struggled desperately but was no match for the man, and he began to tear off my clothes bit by bit.
"Hahaha, you didn't get the full experience last time, this time I'll make sure you get enough. Stop resisting, think about your sister!" Rylee's words slowed my frantic struggling.
"What are you dallying for! Hurry up!" Rylee, seeing my compliance, scolded the slow-moving masked man loudly.
Her scolding made it clear to me that this masked man was definitely not Wyatt! At this moment, my fear intensified; if it had been Wyatt, I could have just felt disgusted, but with someone else, I felt a resolve to die!
"Nobody move!" Just then, the police arrived! Over twenty officers with guns took control of the entire riverside.
Rylee panicked, turned to run, but it was already too late as she was surrounded.
The masked man, who was undressing me, panicked, grabbed me, and pulled a small knife from his pocket, pressing it against my neck. "Don't come any closer! Or I'll kill her!"
The sharp blade pierced my neck, and a streak of red blood trickled down the tip.
The police subdued Rylee and all aimed their guns at the masked man. "Surrender, and you might receive a lenient sentence!"
Upon hearing this, the masked man trembled. I thought he was scared, but he suddenly stabbed my shoulder with the knife, then pressed it again against my neck.
Instantly, the pain numbed me; I only felt the knife entering and then being pulled out of my shoulder as blood soaked my clothes, my complexion growing paler and paler.
"Let me go, or she dies!"
The masked man's crazed demeanor was even more terrifying than Rylee's; I had no idea where she had found such a lunatic.
"Clear a path! Let him go!" Reluctantly, the officers opened a path, and the mad masked man took me with him.
Soon, the police vanished from my sight, and the man's grip on the knife eased. He had escaped with me.
I lost consciousness quickly from blood loss, my head buzzing.
When I woke up again, my wounds had been dressed, and beside me was my sister!
"Hehe, awake?" I was terrified because the person I saw was Wyatt!
"You! It's actually you!" My voice was low, but very agitated.
"No, no, no, the masked lunatic wasn't me; he's already run away. And me, I was just keeping an eye on you for Rylee, actually planning to exchange you for her." Wyatt spoke calmly, but the bloodshot in his eyes and the stubble around his lips showed he was deranged.
"Is Rylee really worth risking your life for?" I looked at my former lover, feeling a pang of sorrow; he had never done this for me, not once in three years.
