Alpha's Revenge

A knock at my door made me come back from my walk down memory lane. I sniffed the air and the scent told me that the person on the other side of my door was someone that I was not in the mood to deal with tonight. Getting up, I put on my robe and walk to the outer room heading to my door. Opening the door, I see the woman that makes my skin crawl. Her father is a power-hungry Alpha from one of the southern states. He heard, like many others, that I still have not taken a mate. They’ve all sent their daughters, nieces, sisters, or whoever they could find to me in the hopes that I would choose one of them as my mate. Nobody knows that I found her and have only been waiting on her to come of age to claim her. I did this for her own safety because if anyone had found out, they could possibly send assassins to kidnap or kill her. My enemies would stop at nothing to try and hurt me and power-hungry Alphas or wolves and Lycans would do anything to get their daughter or whoever on the throne in the belief that it would also raise their status.

“What do you want Cassidy?” I ask in a very annoyed voice.

“I heard that you are leaving tomorrow to visit another pack and I was wondering if I could go with you? I mean it is only right that these packs get to meet their future Luna Queen don’t you think, Randal?” she says batting her eyelashes at me with a smile that I assume is supposed to seduce me.

“Tell me something Cassidy. How would you going with me allow them to meet my Luna Queen?” The smile on her face falters a bit.

“Because I am the future Luna Queen silly. You’ve sent everyone else away that has come here, but you’ve kept me around. Everyone knows that I am the future Luna Queen and that we are just waiting on the next harvest moon to have my ceremony.” This time I looked at her with a look of pure shock. This woman has to be out of her mind.

“Nobody thinks that because it is not true, and if they do, they are just as delusional as you are Cassidy. Get this through your thick skull. I AM NOT EVER CHOOSING YOU TO BE MY MATE! Please pass that on to your father when you see him. Also, I did ask you to leave multiple times, and each time you came up with some way to stay longer. Understand this, when I come back from visiting this next pack, don’t be here or there will be hell to pay.” I slam the door in her face and lock my door before walking back into my bedroom and getting back into bed.

“I’m coming for you Reigna. Wherever you are please just hang on until I find you. Revenge will be yours my queen. I promise you that.” Minutes later I fall asleep.

The next morning, I was up before the sun and went for a quick run to relieve some of the anxiety that my Lycan and I had building up. I went back to my room and took a shower before dressing in jeans and a black polo shirt. Running my fingers through my hair after combing and brushing it gives a look of just rolling out of bed while at the same time still looks groomed. Before anyone comes to get me, I grab my suitcase and head downstairs leaving the suitcase at the entrance of the foyer, then I make my way to the dining hall for breakfast. I’m trying my best to not wake the whole house and just leave immediately, but I know this will be a long trip and some of these guys have mates so I’m giving them the needed time to say goodbye. They all have been briefed and know that this will not be a normal pack visit. We are looking for my mate and their Luna Queen and will possibly be eradicating an entire pack if I do not get the right answers. Well, that will be the worst-case scenario, but the best scenario will be promoting a new Alpha and only the rogues and former Beta will be brought in for murder among other charges.

“Alpha, I just left your room looking for you.” says my Beta.

“I got up early and went for a run to calm my Lycan. As soon as everyone is done eating, we are leaving, so hurry and eat.”

“Yes Alpha.” he says before grabbing a plate and loading it with food.

More and more people start to pour into the dining hall and I’m glad to see that Cassidy is not among them. My brief happiness is short-lived as I see her father enter the hall. I’m guessing that she told him what I had to say because he doesn’t look too happy. Well, that is his problem to bear and not mine. I stay calm as he approaches me while grabbing a plate. As he starts to load his plate with food, he begins to talk to me in a low voice so that nobody else can hear.
