Alpha's Revenge
Chapter 11 (Lycan King Randal’s POV)
Two Years Ago
I hate visiting packs but this is a part of my job The next pack that I am visiting is the Silver Crescent pack and their Beta has just taken over as acting Alpha since the Alpha and Luna were killed in a rogue attack. There was no mention of what happened to their daughter during the conversations I’ve had with this Beta and my Lycan is restless. Every time I talk to him, even over the phone, I can sense his lies and deceit. He knows what happened to the Alpha and Luna and isn’t saying. I’ve always found it strange that they both died, the Gamma is nowhere to be found and neither is their daughter apparently, yet the Beta managed to survive unscathed. I’ve heard about their daughter and her fighting skills alone should have at least kept her alive. “Where is the daughter?” I say out loud to myself which gets the attention of my Beta, Dylan, who has been rambling on for a while now about this Beta wanting to secure an alliance with us.
“I’m sorry, your majesty?” says Dylan.
“Where is the daughter? Is she dead or just missing? How is it that he is only the acting Alpha and not the actual Alpha if she is dead?”
“Good questions. I’ve talked to him on different occasions, and not once has he said anything about there being a daughter.” says Dylan.
“That’s what bothers me. He never said the daughter died or that she is even missing. Why has none of the pack members come to me or anyone of the Royal pack to ask for assistance in locating the missing Alpha heir? None of this makes any sense, but what I do know is that we will find out why he keeps lying to me!” My voice raises and some of my aura leaks out.
“I get that you’re upset, but it seems as though you’re extra upset about this girl missing. You’ve never cared that much before about someone going missing.” I glare at him and he puts his hands up in surrender. “You know I don’t mean that you don’t care about the well-being of your people, I just mean that you haven’t acted this upset before Randal.” Using my name means that he is talking to me as a friend and he does that when he knows that whatever he said or did could be taken as a challenge to his authority.
“The truth is that I don’t know why I’m so upset. My Lycan is very restless and it gets worse every time I talk to that Ramsey. He knows something and I’m going to find out what it is and if it has something to do with this missing girl.” I say to him.
“Should we continue talking to Fredrick and Ally?”
“I think we got all that we can from them. On second thought, call them back in because I just thought of something.”
Dylan’s eyes glaze over and I know that he is mind-linking a guard to escort them back to my office. Fredrick left a little while after Ally had a panic attack and ran out of here. I told him to go and have some lunch and that I would have lunch brought to her in her room. His eyes clear and he tells me that they will be on their way here as soon as they are done eating. Ten minutes pass and there’s a knock on the door. I can tell by the scent that it is Fredrick. Dylan opens the door and lets him in and I gesture for him to take a seat while we wait for Ally. A few more minutes pass by and I can hear her at the door. Her pulse and heart is racing, so instead of telling her to come in, I give her the time that she is obviously taking to compose herself.
After a few minutes pass, she knocks on the door and Dylan opens the door for her and shows her to a seat. Once they are both seated, we get into what happened. Fredrick tells me everything again, and so does she, but this time I ask the questions that I needed answered.
