Chapter 90 I will be okay if you revoke your orders.
90\. I will be okay if you revoke your orders.
They retraced their steps back to the dining room and settled down for a silent meal. The romantic moment in the bedroom made blood pound at her cheeks. Aura preferred to let it stay there while she dug in her food.
She watched Damien talk and smile with Madam Martha and Brian, who have joined them in. It was amusing to see her mute because while he was away, she made the entire servant staff shudder. Madam Martha's forehead had creased for she reddened like a beetroot in fury.
Now that he was here Aurora sat as still as a baby under the scrutiny of his mother as compared to his nanny. She ate silently as if she never roared over his delayed arrival. The very sight made Madam Martha chuckle.
She turned her head away to make sure Aura didn't see her but she failed. She's caught everyone's heed. Especially Damien's, who gazed at her with narrowed eyes switching between her and his girlfriend. He can breathe something shifty.
"What?" Aura asked with the motion of her hands.
All the eyes were on her and they gawked at her like she had horns growing out of her head.
"Look at her now! So calm and composed." Madam Martha offered. "She was throwing tantrums at everyone a short while ago and now under your existence she behaves so modestly."
Damien agreed with a small chuckle. Indeed she was beaming like a butterfly that's recently escaped her cocoon beside him. Her cheeks though showed her embarrassment, she continued to eat her food silently without giving them a damn.
She was pissed because she missed him, and he was taking unnecessary time to get back in her arms. Now he was here she was relieved and calm.
In fact, the specific reason behind her crazy behavior was Ginny. She could not bypass the thoughts of her exile. She hoped the dinner was quickly concluded and that they tracked back to his bedroom where they could talk. Aura wanted to stop her exile.
"If you don't want me to be that way again, Ma, have your alpha come home in time. He brings out the worst in me."Aurora finished her food and disappeared, leaving all in surprise.
Damien concluded his meal quickly and followed her inside his bedroom. He crawled his fingers around her waist and buried his mouth in her neck. Leaving open mouth kisses, he turned her around while approaching the bed. Damien lay her down and very gently he came on top of her.
Just missing her would be an understatement. Alpha Damien had been in a battle all day long with his feelings while he struggled to focus on his work. His wolf and him shoved away their desires of seeing her during an important meeting. They promised to separate their work life with personal life but this gorgeous woman was way too far than being a mortal.
She was a temptress who managed to tempt him and put his cock on fire while she sat here in his mansion, missing him too.
"Did I ever tell you to what extent you control my life?" Aura hushed a soft no.
"Tell me Mr. Hunter, how do I control your life and to what extent?" She played along.
He saw through her naughtiness. His eyes darkened with desire and he took one her hand. Damien pressed it on his hard meat before he let go of her hand as she yanked it back, turning all scarlet.
"This is what I have to handle throughout the day. It's hard to keep it prisoned inside my pants while all my wolf and I do is think about this flawless body and that tiny baby growing inside of you." A small smirk of mischief touched his lips.
Alpha Damien parted her legs and made himself comfortable. He buried his face in her breasts and hugged her little waist. Her scent filled his breaths and he closed his eyes to register this heavenly moment.
He was enjoying the gentle brushing of her fingers through his hair. They magically massaged his scalp sending him to sleep but before he drowned in, she said something that did not suit this context.
"I met Ginny in the convenience store today." He escalated his head to give her an unpleasant stare.
He was expecting romantic words from her like wanting to see the full moon with him from the mountain cliff. Witness the burst of fireflies on a spring night in a field full of greenery. Or for that matter, want a baby that resembled molten eyes like him and beauty like hers.
It was a dismay that she raised a topic he was hardly assuming. And that too belonging to his disappointing ex-girlfriend made it all the way more intolerable.
Damien sat straight. He smacked his lips coldly as he rested his elbow in his lap and leaned forward, staring nowhere in the thin air while intertwining his fingers.
"You did?" Was all he said.
She saw the change in his demeanor. The hardening of his shoulders gave away his displeasure. Even then she kneeled beside him and encapsulated his broad shoulders in her delicate arms and pressed her cheek against his.
"She's changed Damien. I was petrified at the first glance. She doesn't look like herself." She said,
"You are unharmed. That's all that matters to me. I am happy she didn't pound on you right away. Bloody fox!" His voice had a menacing undertone.
Aura made him look at her. She stuttered her velvety lashes nervously as she took his mouth for a kiss before reaching the point she wanted to hit.
"She actually apologized to me and wished me luck and a happy future for the baby. She said she never meant any harm for our baby—"
"Oh no, darling, I don't get why the hell are we discussing her. Considering how desperately you wanted me back home I thought there was a romantic night waiting ahead." He gritted and straightened up while clenching his fists.
His resistance was visible that he didn't want to show a face that would distress Aura. But as the topic of his ex-girlfriend was brought up, Damien found it difficult to suppress his emotions.
"If you don't have anything else to talk about, allow me your leave. I have plenty of tasks requiring my attention." He coldly offered with his stiff back glaring at her.
"Damien," She followed him to the window.
She felt his muscles twitch under her touch. He was fighting her warmth. Aura threw her arms round his waist and rested her face on his back.
"She is not the kindest woman I know but I noticed pure guilt in her eyes, Damien. She may not be the best influence around our baby. You can still not cast her out of the pack. This is her home." Her palm stroked his abs up and down, sending a crazy current of enchantment through his belly and down to his shaft.
"That is true she never hurt me directly. It was always you she targeted. She's done everything to keep you in her clutch as I was stealing you away."
"I am glad you stole me away. That woman is cunning. You have no idea about her affairs. She had been with many men under my nose. Peter Dursley was one of them. She may not have targeted you right away but when she did, she lost every ounce of respect I had for her. Our betterment lies in her leave, Aura. We do not want evil people around our baby. I would go mad if anything happened to our child. I will make sure each and everyone who wished or caused destruction will pay for it." Damien turned around.
He grabbed her hands and kissed them gently. She was suddenly cold. Her body was undergoing light tremors. She may have a kind heart, Damien didn't. He was giving her all the hints of disapproval.
"I thought you trusted me." It was a soft inaudible whisper.
"I trust you with everything, Aurora Collins." He enveloped her waist, caressing her forehead with his lips. Damien eyed the mate mark on her shoulder lovingly, "I didn't mark you just like that. This crescent depicts my strong love for you."
"Then why don't you trust me with Ginny." She made him sigh.
"You're wasting your time on the wrong subject, love. Ask me for something else and I'll have it dropped at your feet."
"You are not even trying to understand what I want to say, Damien." She jerked him away, her eyes suddenly filling up with tears.
Mood swings overpowered the control she had been holding. She stepped backwards with a complaining gaze pinning him down with condemnation.
"You promised there will be no evil around our baby. But you're simply making things worse for us by casting her and everyone else you find untrustworthy out of our lives. Don't limit yourself to the moment. Consider the future as well." She grumbled.
Damien tried to get a hold of her but she refused him. She wanted to be heard. She wanted Ginny to be in the pack. It was something her heart wished for out of worry— both for her as well as their child.
It has often happened that people aimed at children for hurting their parents. She didn't want Damien and her to be such parents who would regret it later. Ginny was cruel. She was aware of that. But if she could prevent her exile, they would make a friend. They needed more friends than enemies at this point of life while they were preparing to welcome a baby.
"You are not carrying the baby in your womb, Damien Hunter, so you don't know what I felt at that moment when she looked at my belly. She wishes to be a part of this baby's life and I will do everything to make it happen." Her smoldering eyes suddenly softened.
Aura thought back about her gaze and the instant connection she felt with it. It was as if the baby was responding to Ginny's longing gaze.
Who hated kids after all!
"Aura," She was about to collapse but Damien caught her in time. "Are you okay, love?"
Her face was red. He hugged her trembling figure in his arms and held her to his heart.
"I will be okay if you revoke your orders. Don't drive her out, Damien. You can't see the other side of this exile. You are throwing her in darkness that she would never be able to escape."
"Aura, that woman is a pure slt. She doesn't deserve your worry. She deserves the hell I am sending her in." He painfully cried.
"I remember you protecting me from one such deportation. After saving me from that misery don't toss someone else into it. Let her stay. Please." Her heavy lashes stuttered before darkness washed over her senses.
