Chapter 82 Aurora disappeared?!

Chapter 82 Aurora disappeared?!
82\. Aurora disappeared?!

Alpha Damien had been hopeful about seeing Aurora at the hospital. It was much like surprising her while joining her for the appointment. From what he was aware of, she was going to have a sonography done and he was sitting on the edge of the backseat in his car as he couldn't wait to join her as they watched the image of their baby on the screen.

However, the devil had to interrupt him just then and before the car drove in the direction of the hospital Aura had left for, his phone buzzed. It was an important call demanding his presence in the office.

"Yes, Brian?" Damien walked through his cabin and found his beta going through some of the files.

"Glad, you are here, Damien," Beta Brian said.

He looked tense and Alpha Damien grew extremely curious to know the cause of it.

He unlatched his lips to verbalize his desperation when his gaze fell on the file Brian was reading. It was Peter's file of records of all his shares and property in the collaboration Alpha Damien and he incorporated together in New York a few years ago.

"Peter's lawyers demand his share of profit and property. They refuse to give up on his possessions from the collab you two had." Damien's mouth curved into a disgusted thin line.

His ember eyes glowed like blooming sparks. He closed his fingers on his sides and re-opened them, attempting to keep his exasperation in limits.

"Didn't our lawyers send them a non-negotiable instrument along with the collaboration's termination agreement?" He sat on the table and picked a paper weight.

Peter's name worked as a trigger. It dug back the old wounds. Aurora's drained out panic-stricken face formed worried lines on his forehead. And every freaking fiber in his body reacted to the mention of his name.

"We did, Damien, but they demand for the money and are coming up with clauses that are strong enough to help them get Peter's rightful share in the collaboration." Brian said in a soft cautious tone.

He observed his alpha's changing expressions and quickly came with soothing words that would help keep his calm in check.

"Our lawyers are studying the contracts again to make sure nothing goes into Peter's pocket over the termination as you've wanted, Damien." It all went in vain given that Alpha Damien's anger worked differently for Peter.

He laughed and then hissed. Then his dark eyes settled on his Beta, freezing him.

"Fuck the law and administration. Fuck the lawyers and the contracts. Fuck those clauses and their claims." Alpha Damien crashed the paper weight into his hand.

The broken pieces flew in the air with force and scattered here and there. Brian was quick enough to cover his face and eyes but Damien didn't care. He sat frozen on his desk with a twisted mouth. Some pieces pricked his hands. Blood gushed out profusely. The smell filled the air.

Brian panicked and came forward to help stop the bleeding but a finger pointed at him in warning, and he paused in his tracks.

"I am not giving a single penny to him out of the collaboration or any of his property my firm confiscated after his arrest. I will leave him with no single buck as a beggar." Damien said in a menacing tone, his bleeding hand pointing at his Beta. "He will regret until his last breath for what he's done."

He remembered Aura again. Her teary eyes made him close his lashes and gulp a deep breath.

"I will not spare him at any cost, Brian. My Aura suffered a lot because of him. He will pay for it and I will take the payment as and when, and however I see fit." He spoke in Alpha Damien's usual threatening tone backed with lots and lots of jeopardy.

He picked out several tissue papers and crushed them under his bleeding palm. "Tell his lawyers that I refuse any claim they make. They are not getting anything from me out of the collaboration or his property on his behalf. Send them to me if they approach you again. I will deal with them my way." He said. "Ask our lawyers to send all the contracts and other agreements over to my place. It's time I handle this matter myself."

He got up and after flexing his muscles, he threw the blood-soaked ball of tissues somewhere on the floor.

"Enough is enough now. I've been harmless for two months straight. It's time I give them a kick of torment. And that Dursley," Damien faced his beta. "Communicate with the chief officer of our security department and ask them to increase Peter's tortures in the dungeons. I want every filament of his body in pain. Do you get that, Brian?"

"OK-okay, okay, I get it. Now will you please have your hand treated. You are bleeding. You need immediate treatment, Damien." Brian scratched his forehead nervously as he didn't dare look away from his alpha's eyes.

Then as he was maintaining his eye contact Alpha Damien whirled around and sprinted out of the cabin like a storm, not before grumbling, "It's not treatment that I need, but my Aura. Argh, ruined my fucking mood!"

"Huh, you can't fucking find my girlfriend's car's location? What the fuck does that mean?" Damien shouted on the phone as he restlessly stood by the side of his car, wide-eyed.

He visited the hospital Aura had to visit for her checkup. But just before he arrived she left. She would not take his call or reply to his messages. He understood it was her anger restricting her from responding to him for being cold and atrocious to him. Damien didn't comprehend what was the logic behind her going missing all of a sudden? He saw the clip of her car taking a turn into a street some yards away from the hospital. But the car never appeared again in other surveillance cameras.

Yes, his Aura was suddenly unreachable. No phone calls, no messages, no hints regarding her current location, nothing.

All of these were making his heart pound crazily in Damien's chest. He can't help but think about Peter's lawyers playing dirty but it could not be! They were cowards. They would not think about hurting his girlfriend while their boss was under strict conditions in the dungeons, going through a phase of anguishing third degree torture for touching his lady love.

They would never do it. Not in the hells either.

But then... It has been four hours since she left the hospital yet she didn't reach home. Already enraged, Damien's anger went up. Oscar, her chauffeur, wasn't picking his calls either. And the intimation he received from the person appointed to locate Aurora's car and her whereabouts came back to him with disappointing answers that he anything but wanted to listen.

"A-alpha, we've checked the entire region. The needful CCTV footage is under close observation. We are trying and I... I assure you..." The finely suited man took a pause to gulp as the Alpha's burning eyes shook the hell out of him. "I assure you that you'll have her location within an hour from now."

"That's what I've been hearing for the last four hours. Where is she? Where is Oscar? Where the hell did her car disappear?" Damien grabbed his collar and the man panicked. "If you can't do what you're employed to do then why am I paying you? To sit in an air conditioned cabin with high tech devices and watch movies online? I want her location within thirty minutes from now and if I don't get it..."

Alpha Damien let him go. He closed his eyes to control some of his rage and think from his head not his heart.

"You have no idea what I'll do with you and the whole city if I don't have her in my arms. Fuck off now." He stared heaven-wards and stuttered his lashes in order to brush off his tears.

His wolf sulked within him. Literally wilted off in deep shit pain. He was weeping in his chest and mourning as if they would never get to see her again. As if Aura came to a decision where she sought leaving them was the best option. As if she's decided to raise their baby on her own.

Damien was clueless. Totally despaired and blank. His hands were turning cold. His shoulders were feeling suddenly heavy as if he was holding tons of weight. The heaviness of his chest marred the appearance of his face.

Scarlet rimmed eyes made his cinder gaze look dangerously thrilling. Only, he wasn't portraying exasperation as his yellow eyes normally did with such swollen eyes. This time it was pain. Lots and lots of pain. Of losing her. Of failing her as a lover and a soul mate. Of hurting her as the father of the child she was carrying.

The tears in his eyes spoke of his need for her. Just a few hours of disappearance and he felt like dead inside. He refused to think what his life would be without her. He was certain that hell would still be a better place to live than his life without her.

Damien slumped against his car like a ruined defeated knight. He palmed his face and attempted to limit his sobs. Alas, his emotions overflowed and he couldn't stop from letting out an anguishing sob.

"Damien?" Just then a well-acquainted voice buzzed near his left ear and a feeling of recognition surrounded him.

His nostrils flared with a sweet aromatic fragrance. He flew his eyes open only to welcome the sight of Aura's mouth that was slightly harmed at the right corner with visible blood, which was enough to cease his respiration and water his eyes recklessly. He gasped, stunned.

"Au-aura," Wrapping his shaking arms around her frame, he pulled her desperately against the car and broke down weeping.

Oh god, she was here. Not completely fine but she was.
