Chapter 75 Their reunion.... Is it!
75\. Their reunion.... Is it!
Alpha Damien expected a destructive reaction from Aurora when he'd heard Rosario's silly plan that afternoon over the call. He's said it'll be a failure but the Frenchman asked him to give it a try.
They shared the same academy hence they were familiar with Rosario's such plans. They also worked many times. So Alpha Damien couldn't turn him down. He has tried several ways to convince Aura to crack the wall of resistance she's created around her— but oh, she proved why he was badly in love with her.
She was different from other women. Aura didn't let his charm work magic on her and that's why he had to say a yes to Rosario's weird plan.
"Get away," Having Aurora cradled protective in his strong arms, he led her to the ambulance that was called for him.
He had been fully focused on his driving even if a part of him was off mood and sulking in pain. His mouth hurt but he was sure of going home with a cute smile of merriment as she impressed him with the hard slap. He was driving without causing any damage to himself for agreeing with Rosario's plan that was assumed was his.
It was a close call when the truck assailed towards him. He could have been severely injured had he not jumped out through the other door in the front as the truck ran into the driver's seat side, crushing the area awfully.
He did save himself from poor detriment but he couldn't avoid hitting his head with the ground or the flying chunks of windshield post it wickedly shattered into shreds. The cut on his forearm was so deep that the medical team which gladly arrived in time stitched his slit immediately prior to the loss of blood.
He was getting examined by them when he heard Aurora's mind-boggling voice. He couldn't stop himself from leaving the ambulance and going out to attend to her. To see whether it was really her! And he knew it was her for he could inhale her soothing fragrance from thousands of miles ago and tell her apart.
"Check her doc," He was grateful that he found her but her losing her senses gave him a filthy feeling.
She was flushed. Her lashes wet and the amount of redness around her eyes and cheekbones portrayed she'd been crying and petrified.
Alpha Damien scrutinized her from head to toe. His gaze ceased on her belly. He was worried about the baby.
He raised his hand to touch it but the doctor interrupted, "Her pulse is not normal, Alpha. I suggest taking her to the hospital."
He watched the doc's face with faltering expressions. "A-and the baby?"
"Umm, it's hard to tell, sir. Better we take her to hospital and perform some tests." Said the doctor adjusting his stethoscope around his neck.
"Then let's take her to hospital." Damien said.
The doctor nodded with an amused look. It was hard to see the alpha look so agitated. He gaped him open mouthed as assuming someone so powerful like him bending fearfully across a woman who was pregnant was baffling. And she was pregnant.
Just as the alpha caressed her hair and held her hand possessively, the doctor was definite that the baby was his. His secret lover. The reason why he suddenly disappeared from the front page of the magazines that showed him with a new woman every night.
With no doubts about her beauty, she was serene and adorable. He liked the view in front of him before he preferred to mind his own job and let the alpha be alone with his lover.
They arrived at the hospital and Damien carried her inside. Some reporters were present there and they shot pictures of him looking frightened as he carried a mysterious lady in his arms.
He helped the staff take her to the ward and slumped by the wall heaving a hesitant sigh.
'Please keep them safe, moon goddess. I will never ask you for anything again.' His heart chanted.
Fifteen minutes later,
Alpha Damien stood to his full height at the sight of the doctor coming out of Aurora's ward.
"Is anything serious, doc? The baby and her pulse? She'll be fine, right?" He had not even undid his mask or removed his gloves when Damien charged him with inquiries.
However, the doc passed a small smile of assurance and Alpha Damien pressed a palm to his beating heart and sucked a very deep breath.
"She's absolutely good, Alpha. Just as I said before, a little bit of stress." He shrugged, indirectly saying to take her care and not bother her. "She will wake up in a while."
He left after congratulating Damien for the baby and a happy life that was awaiting him.

With heaviness in her lashes that forced her eyes to stay shut, Aurora squirmed. She slowly undid the lids and tried to get up.
"Please don't," she heard a voice near her ear as a hand pressed down on her shoulder, compelling her to stay in the bed.
"Damien," Aurora met his gaze after she fluttered her weak lashes open.
He was sitting right next to her with a smile that sucked out half of her pain. She felt relieved but the white band around his head and a small patch of soaked blood on the corner seized her movements and her eyes welled up. She was hit with waves of torment when she observed the corner of his mouth swollen— resulting from her tight slap.
"Oh please, don't cry now, Aura." He choked a response.
He was pretending to be happy but his emotions him right in his chest. He was clueless as to what to say. She was here with him. Finally. After two months of attempts Damien got to see her. Hold her. Touch her. Feel her. Nevertheless, that sinking feeling was afresh in his chest as if it was yesterday when he accused her of cheating and fired her.
His eyes went downwards to her belly covered under the white sheet. Her stomach was still flat but his eyes noticed a small bump. A very small bump only perceivable with a focused gaze.
"Huh," He was not really prepared to feel the baby under his palm but Aura held his hand and guided to her stomach.
"....." Blurry eyes shone with happiness and gratification.
Damien could sense the bump on her belly under his palm. It was bigger than eyes could see. His baby was growing. His baby…. Baby Hunter.
"I am sorry." It escaped his mouth.
Then what Aurora had not predicted happened— Alpha Damien rose with crazy speed and stormed out of the room, holding his hiccups back, after he pulled his hand out of her grasp.
He came to the end of the corridor where there was dull light on and slumped against a wall as he slid down to the floor. His eyes streamed and that void of guilt increased in his chest. The memories of her from that night and how he treated her struck him.
God, he'd been ruthless with her. So very ruthless.
He didn't deserve her. He didn't deserve that baby and a life partner like her. He didn't deserve a glowing sun filling his dark empty life. He didn't deserve the happiness she provided. Much less the soft serene feeling of being in her arms.
Monsters don't deserve a loyal mate, do they?
