Chapter Sixty Five; Worthy Of Being A Servant

Alpha Xavier’s POV

It was raining heavily outside the office, the office was heavily coated so that one could hardly hear any noise from outside, that’s why I didn’t know else I would have stayed back.

Even my secretary had already gone so there was no one to remind me and I am now already outside, I’ve locked the office door too, there’s no point of going back.

I entered the rain and ran over to my car, but no matter how fast I ran? I was still soaked by the rain so much so that if I was not careful, I might catch cold before the next day.

When I got home, I took off the clothes I was wearing and immediately washed them, then I made a hot yea and drank it before sleeping under a blanket.

Despite all the measures I put in place to ward the cough off, I still woke up with a sneeze the next morning.

I checked the kit at home as saw that it was almost empty, there was no cough medicine that I could take, I could only call Dr. Mildred to bring some for me and check my body to make sure I don’t end up catching cold because I have a big project com in g up very soon,

The final one, conquering the abode that welcomed Sophia after running away from me and crushing them.

“Dr. Mildred I maybe be catching cold, you should come and check my body”

“Okay Alpha”

It didn’t take a minute after the call when I heard the doorbell ring, I had just set my bathing water so I had only towel wrapped around my torso, I knew it was Dr. Mildred anyways so I didn’t bother changing into something, it’s not the first time she’s seen me shirtless so it’s not a bother.

I stepped out of the room and opened the door, two pairs of eyes were looking at me, it was not just doctor Mildred who came, Miya was also with her.

Can’t this girl just leave already? Why does she keep popping out of nowhere every time.

“What are you doing here”

I looked down at her expecting her to answer me, but she kept quiet and it was Dr. Mildred that spoke up .

“Have you forgotten I told you that you that she’ll be working for me to pay her hospital bills that someone refused to pay?”

I knew the sound of that, she was insinuating that it was I who had refused to pay up for the hospital bills, but how it that my problem? She’s not my wife that I have to be obligated to pay for her medical expenses.

Heck she’s not even a member of this pack, she should be grateful to me for my generosity in allowing her to stay and even giving her work with such a prestigious person as Dr. Mildred.

If not for her, I would have thrown her out of this house, alas I was even the one that called her here and it was reasonable to being her assistant.

I made way for them to enter, that was when I saw the medical kit in her hand and it gladdened my heart to see that.

Dr. Mildred sure knows how to put her in her place, yes, she is only worthy of being a servant and carrying thins up and down.

An idea suddenly sprang on my smart head at the sound of that, since she was so eager to keep following me every where I go, why don’t I just make it possible for her to always be with me?

That way, I’ll be able to grant her wish and slowly find out what it is that makes her so interested in this pack and most especially in me.

Well now is a perfect time to do just that.

“Ouch Dr. Mildred why did you leave your patient at the door and walk into the house without me, is that how you treat the sick?”

I put my hand on my head to amplify how much it hurts me in front of them when in reality, I was not even feeling head ache that much.

“Ah it’s true Alpha, I am sorry come on in, this is your house by the way”

She ran over to help me but I stopped her from touching me.

“You’ll catch cold, let her keep the kit and come back to help me”

I could see the confusion in her eyes but I pretended not to notice,

“Where’s she?”

“Ah she’s coming Alpha; Miya just leave the kit there and help Alpha come in, I’ll take it from there”

I grinned seeing the panic in Dr. Mildred’s eye and the look of resentment in Miya ‘s eye, but no matter what she thinks, she still obeyed the orders and came over to the the door.

She stood in front of me at the entrance and asked,

“How would you like me to help you enter your house sir?”

I could tell that she was fuming with anger and was just trying to contain herself from saying the wrong thing.

“Carry me”

I blurted out the next word that came to my mind without thinking about it.

“Are you serious?”

“How else would you take me inside the house you dummy, do you even have an ounce of strength to lift just a finger of my house talk more of my whole body”

By this time, I was just making jest of her because I enjoyed seeing the different flash of emotions in her tiny face.

From anger to shock and then there’s confusion all on that face.

“C’mon”

I gestured with my finger for her to come closer to me so that I can lean my head on her shoulder as we walk back into the house.

But Miya being Miya didn’t come gently, she sped up like a rushing wind and lifted me up.

Yep, that’s right, my legs were suspended on the air as if I was flying, the next minute, I saw myself on my cushion in my living room.

I shook my head as I tried to understand what just happened but I don’t seem to get it.

Two women were looking at me with strange expression, the other was shocked while the other was angry and panting as if she just ran up and down mount Kilimanjaro.

“Well she did carry you up from the door to the chair and you weigh two hungered kilogram what did you expect?”

A little voice sounded in my head and I suddenly felt guilty for joking with her about carrying me in the first place.

If only she was at least start enough to know that I was just joking then this wouldn’t have happened.

“Aches!” A sudden cough had brought me back to my senses

“What are you waiting for doctor? Come and check my body to make sure I am not sick”

“Yes yes doctor”

She ran to the kit and brought out her stereoscope and a thermometer, soon she got to work

“What? She gasped when she saw the reading on the thermometer. Your temperature is very high, you need to rest or this fever would get worst.”

I knew that the result would be high, after all I just filled the bathroom with hot water, coupled with the steam being hot, I had taken hot water also, that should explain why my body is so hot.

“And please wear some clothes next time, it will contribute to your illness. It’s a good thing I came with some spirit and some komix for the cold, you’ll get better as long as you take care of yourself”

“But how am I going to take care of myself?”

“Alpha, this is very basic, everyone knows this, just take warm food, massage your head with towel from time to time … But Alpha you leave alone, these things are not even possible, ash just do this instead, ..”

“No need to change your prescription, just tell your assistant so that she can help me do all these things”

After saying this, I casually turned around and gave them my back once again to emphasize how sick I am, I even sneezed twice to make it believable.

I heard the girls vaguely arguing about staying back to take care of me, but I didn’t even flinch, I just let them talk all they wanted, but I was well aware that at the end of the day, they’l do as I say.

“Alpha, I’ll h get going now, Miya will stay back and take care if you for the meantime, I’ll come back to check on you, if there’s anything before then just tell her and she’ll call me”

With that being said, she turned around and left, I heard retreating footsteps and then the door opening indicating that doctor Mildred had left.

It meant that only two of us were left, Miya and I and I don’t trust her enough to leave her alone in the room, I turned and saw that there was no one in the house, it was just me but how could it be? I only heard footstep of one person leaving, did she suddenly become a ghost and disappeared?
