My Princess threw her head back, her eyes closed tightly, her lips curved, and her mouth open as she laughed. The wind blew her hair back, and the moon shined down on her. It was ethereal and I was mesmerized. Adea was beautiful and I was under her spell. At this moment, carefree, happy, and mine. Right now, she was the most beautiful I’d ever seen her. The stars twinkled in the sky, and the moon smiled smugly down on us but I ignored it. Adea was mine, all mine.
Tonight was a night of victory. I’d punched her intended in the face and I fucking reveled in it. His holier than thou self had gotten what he deserved. He deserved more than my fist but there was no time for that. The sound that echoed in the hall when my fist collided with his face was absolute perfection. My blood was pumping and I felt higher than I’ve ever been. I felt powerful. I don’t know how long we’d been running. I don’t think I even knew where we were headed.
This wasn’t the time for thinking. We wouldn’t worry about the problems that would arise tomorrow. I’m sure by now that piece of worthless shit had gone crying to her father. Why didn’t he take Ava? He’d already sampled her, that much was clear. He spent time with her and she felt for him, so why? Why did he have to take Adea? I closed my eyes and chased the anger away. I wouldn’t think about that tonight. Tonight, she was mine. Tonight, it was my hand she held. Tonight, it was me she smiled at. Tonight, it was me who she ran away with.
We stumbled. On what? I wasn’t sure. I think I may have tripped on a rock and we went flying through the air. I wrapped my arms around her protectively and pulled her in as we crashed. I smelled dry grass and dirt beneath us. I looked down at her and she looked up at me. We both broke into laughter. I reached up and pulled the hay from her hair and she wiped the dirt from my face. Those dull sparks I’d grown used to spread across my cheek.
I think my clothes were wet, we just might be in mud but I didn’t care. I don’t care. How could I? When she’s staring up at me that way. I want to hold her tighter, closer, but I knew better. Her soft body molded against my hard one. If I didn’t let go of her right now, she would feel me hardening. I loosened my grip on her and lay on my back. I wrapped my arms behind my head and pretended she wasn’t having any effect on me.
I stared up at the stars as she curled into my side. My heart warmed and I wanted to look at her but I didn’t trust myself. If I looked at her now, I’d lose control. I’d kiss her and I don’t think I’d be able to stop. I wondered what she was thinking about. I tensed as her finger slid up and down my chest over my shirt.
Goddess, what was she doing? Goosebumps broke out down my arms and my nipples hardened as she touched me. Does she feel me? The little minx. Doesn’t she know what she does to me? Doesn’t she know that my heart beats faster when she’s near? Does she know the effect her pretty brown eyes have on me?
I stared up at the stars and waited for her to speak first. I didn’t have to wait long. Not for her to speak, she didn’t, she sat up and our eyes locked. I smiled at her as she threw a leg over me. My eyes widened and I swallowed the lump in my throat. I stared up at her. She was seated on top of me.
What was going on in that pretty little head of hers? My heart was thundering in my chest now and I didn’t know what was happening. I’m far from innocent but when it came to Adea, it was different. Everything she did was new. I didn’t know what I was doing or what she was doing. This is not what I was expecting. Goddess, she was going to be the death of me.
“Adea,” I warned. My fingers made their way up her backside and rested on her hips even as I tried to tell her to get off of me. She didn’t budge. Instead, she stared down at me mischievously.
“Shane,” she teased. As if that helped. She acted like it didn’t mean anything. My warnings were futile and landed on deaf ears. Goddess. I needed to get her off of me. I should have done so the moment she climbed on top of me. She makes me weak. Suspicion flooded my mind.
“Have you had something to drink tonight?” I asked.
Even as I asked the question, my gaze swept over her features, confirming my suspicions. Her cheeks were flushed red and her eyes were sensual as they gazed down at me. Goddess, I don’t think I had the power, the strength, the ability to restrain myself, to deny her. Not when she was on top of me, and definitely not when she was looking at me that way. The material of my pants was the only thing separating us. She wiggled on top of me and I gritted my teeth. Fuck.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” I grunted.
“Oh?” She breathed.
Fuck she was beautiful, She was fucking sexy. She was a vixen, a siren, and if I didn’t watch myself, I would fall for her song. I snorted. Who was I kidding myself? I’d long fallen for her spell.
“Yes.”
“Why not?” She asked as she wiggled on top of me. My length had already hardened and was standing to attention. Her eyes widened, confirming she felt the bulge pressing against the material of my pants. She bit her lip as she rolled her hips in circles. Not being in her was torture.
