~Alpha Kilhan~
I was lying on the bed in the cell when I heard someone approaching. At first, I thought it was Celine, but I was surprised to see her father, Alpha Darius Gomez.
“You seem to be doing well.” I heard him say as I got up from the bed. He opened the gate to the room I was in and stepped in.
“Your little drama can’t kill me. I’m an Alpha too, remember?” I asked courageously as I stood up.
“You should be thankful my daughter got involved at the right time or you wouldn’t be alive today.” He scoffed, moving closer to the gate.
“And at least I’d be glad that I didn’t leave your horrible face without harm on my deathbed,” I answered with gritted teeth.
My response pulled a chuckle from him, and he nodded with a smirk.
“I don’t have time for this, so I need you to listen well. You’re not dead right now because of a reason best known to me. And I know very well you don’t want to die now, so we are going to strike a deal.” He uttered, causing me to immediately furrow my brows.
‘Why on earth would Darius Gomez want to strike a deal with me?’ I wondered, shrugging.
“Let me hear it.”
“I am tired of seeing your face around. As much as I want to get rid of you, I believe you’d be useful to me alive, so… I’m going to let you go.” He explained, making me even more confused.
“Me? Useful to you alive? That is impossible. I’ll never do any dirty work for you…”
“Oh please, don’t be stupid.” He butted in almost immediately. “If I want to carry out any sort of dirty work, you’re the last person I’d talk to. I have men ready to do that for me.
“Listen, I’m letting you go because my daughter wants you out of this vicinity. She doesn’t want to keep seeing you every day, since your wound is now healed.” He further added.
“She told you she doesn’t want to see me anymore?”
“You think I’m lying? She doesn’t want to keep talking to you since you rejected her. And now your wound is healed, and she feels less guilty, she can’t keep seeing you. I suggested, as you would have guessed, to just finish you off. But as the sweet soul she is, she said no.
“So here I am, doing what is best for my daughter and her boyfriend…”
“Her boyfriend?” I butted in instantly, and he scoffed.
“What? You think she was just going to wait around for you after you rejected her and sent her out of your house? My daughter is happy with her mate and I don’t want you to cause any more issues for her, okay? So I’m going to let you go.
“Now there are conditions. Once you get out of here, you cannot!… come back here, because then, I wouldn’t hear a thing and I’d rip out your heart from your chest like I have always wanted.
“I forbid any contact between you and my daughter. In fact, I believe there shouldn’t be. You two are not together, so there shouldn’t be a case for that.”
“And lastly, you are a dead man in my house, this means that everyone here except my men believes you are dead. And you have to stay dead.”
“Why would I want to do that?” I further questioned, confusion written all over my face.
“Because you wouldn’t want to be really dead. You still want to talk to your mother, and your pack members and be an Alpha to them. So yeah, you are going to be dead in my house. Got it?”
I couldn’t give him an answer at this point because there were so many things going on in my head and one of them was Celine being in a relationship already.
‘Why didn’t she mention that to me?’ I pondered. ‘And she doesn’t want to see my face anymore?’ I thought further.
“Got it?!” He asked again and I bobbed.
“Yes, got it,” I answered, and he let out another smirk.
“Good.”
He signaled to one of his men and he hurriedly walked closer to him. He whispered something in his ear and he hurried out of the cell room.
Before I knew it, he returned with a tattered-looking man from down the hallway of the cell house. I had never thought there were other people in this cell house until he came out with this man.
Looking at him, I could guess he had been in there for a very long time. It didn’t look like he had eaten in weeks. He was so thin and weak, he could barely stand.
“Now… let’s make this a little realistic,” Darius uttered, stepping out of the cell room. He approached this weak man and without hesitation, buried his hand into his chest.
My heart skipped a beat and I held my breath in utter terror as he pulled his heart out of his chest without thinking twice. I wasn’t surprised given how he almost did the same to me, but I couldn’t help but wonder why he had to kill that way. Without remorse.
He tossed the heart to the other side of the hallway and said some things to his men. Then, he looked at me and before he could speak, I heard someone call my name.
I needed no one to tell me it was Celine calling out to me.
“Kilhan!!”
I looked at Darius, and I saw him put his bloody finger on his lips, telling me to shut up.
He then turned to the men behind him again and said; “Keep him here, and make sure he doesn’t make a sound. I’m going to deal with my daughter.”
In no time, he headed out of sight and his men walked into the cell room, their fierce gazes locked with mine.
I kept hearing Celine’s voice crying out from outside the cell house and this got me wondering why she was so loud and couldn’t just come in to see me.
‘Was Alpha Darius lying about her not wanting to see me anymore? I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was lying about it.’
I remained quiet listening to Celine, and soon, her voice slowly faded away until I heard nothing.
One of the men that stood with me hurried out of the cell room and when he returned, he came closer and grabbed me by the arm. One of them hurried to me and did the same thing, holding onto my other arm.
“What’s going on?” I asked as they pushed me out of the room.
“We are getting you out of here.” They said to me, As soon as we walked to the cell house gate, a man threw a bag over my head, completely blocking my sight.
I knew we kept walking and walking until they yanked the bag off my head and I was asked to enter a car. This time, I was out of Darius’ compound already.
“We’ll take you back to your house.” One of them said as I entered the car.
“My house is not in New Orleans.”
“We are aware.” They answered, shutting the car door against my face. Two of them got in the back seat with me, one was in the front seat, next to the driver.
As we zoomed off, I kept my eyes on Darius’ house. Something bothered me, and that was Celine’s terrorizing cry.
I knew Alpha Darius must have told her I was dead, and that drove her off the edge. But… I wanted to see her. Even if it was the last time.
I wanted to say thank you to her for helping me with my wounds and saving my life.
But… that would be impossible. The chances of me getting to see her after this were so slim.
“I should just do what Alpha Darius said. I should stay away.” I thought to myself.
‘And when did you start listening and doing what Darius tells you?’ Khan asked, rendering my brain completely blank.
“What the hell am I supposed to do?”
