~Celine ~
After these words fell out of my mouth, I looked to the side and saw Ethan standing in front of the door, with a betrayed look on his face.
“What have you done, Celine?!” Kiara yelled in my head.
“What are you even talking about?” My father asked, with his hand still hung in the air, ready to throw the punch anyway.
“Just let him go, okay? We will talk about it in the house.” I answered, trying so hard to not look at Alpha Kilhan’s face.
“You can’t just expect me to let go of someone that did this to my face!” He smacked, pushing Alpha Kilhan off. Immediately he was off his hand, I let out a relieved sigh.
“Lock him up.” I heard my father say as he turned around. “And you, come with me. I want to hear what the hell you have to say.”
I gulped hard as I watched him enter the house. I turned to look at Kilhan and saw my father’s men got a hold of him already and dragged him away, alongside his pack members.
Letting out a deep breath, I walked to the door, where Ethan was standing, staring at me speechlessly.
“Ethan, I’m…”
“I don’t want to hear it.” He cut me off and walked into the house too. I pursued my lips and swallowed hard as I also followed behind him.
This time, my father was seated on his favorite couch, ready to listen to me. I moved closer and sat on the couch next to him.
“Can you please tell me what the hell happened out there? How is Kilhan the love of your life? If he’s the love of your life, who is Ethan then?” He questioned, and I lowered my head as I began to answer his questions one after the other.
“I just revealed one of my secrets to you. Alpha Kilhan is the love of my life because I’m in love with him and I don’t think that will ever change, and for Ethan…” I took a pause and looked up, I could see him climb the stairs to the next floor.
“He’s been so good to me, and I had to get together with him because of that,” I answered in a low tone.
“Oh, God! Children of these days will never cease to amaze me! So you were a thing when you were in his house?” He inquired, and I nodded.
“How did you know?” I asked, causing him to scoff.
“Marcus told me everything. I thought you were just there for the meantime as your hideout. Did he know you were together with this Kilhan?”
“I think so. I mean, he was everywhere. He must have known.” I answered, and my father shook his head.
“And the boy? Who is his father?” He asked, and I raised my head to look at his face. I clenched my jaws and stared at his face speechlessly.
“Oh my! I knew it! I knew something was wrong when I saw my grandson’s face! He looked nothing like Ethan. Oh gracious Moon Goddess, what the hell do I do now?! Sh*t! How did I not know this?!” He yelled, grabbing his head.
“Wait… why are you so worried about it?”
“Why won’t I? How do you think my grandson will feel when he finds out I murdered his grandfather, hun??” He asked, causing me to furrow my brows.
I seemed lost as I tried to understand what he meant.
“He’s talking about Kilhan’s father, dummy!” Kiara yelled in my eyes, causing my eyes to pop wide open.
“Oh! That…” I sighed softly and lowered my head. “I don’t know. Well, you haven’t been a good person yourself. He should know that.”
“Oh, C’mon Celine. This isn’t about me anymore. If you were with Kilhan and you were happy, why did you leave? Was it Marcus?”
“No. It wasn’t Alpha Marcus. He rejected me…”
“What?! He rejected Celine Gomez? He is crazy?! Does he know how many men have tried to get your hand in marriage?! Oh, Goddess! More reasons for me to pluck his heart out! How dare he hurt my daughter!”
“It was all your fault!” I yelled, and before I knew it, tears began pouring down from my eyes. “He rejected me after he found out that you killed his father. I mean, who would want to be with the man who murdered his father? Blame yourself! I lost him because of you!” I cried even harder.
“But that doesn’t mean he was supposed to reject you even when you were carrying his child! That is cruel!”
“He had no idea, okay? Before I could tell him, he found out the truth and it was too late. Every bad thing that has happened to me is all because of you!” I sniffed as I raised my head to look at him.
He gulped hard and lowered himself, squatting before me. “I’m sorry, Celine.” He uttered in a low tone and I shook my head.
“It doesn’t matter now. Kilhan will never believe I had nothing to do with you at that time because he has seen me in your house! I knew I shouldn’t have come here.” I mumbled in tears.
“Hey… Hey. Celine, listen to me. Can you please stop crying? I know you’re mad that you two are not together anymore, and maybe, he doesn’t even know you have a kid, which is great.”
“It’s great?” I furrowed my brows.
“I mean, Ethan is a good kid, even though he can be so forward sometimes, and I’d want you to continue your relationship with him. Kilhan doesn’t have to know he has a son.”
“You want me to keep it from him?” I asked, and he nodded.
“Yes. I mean, it’s not like he’s interested in being his father. He has rejected you. Ethan is ready to accept…”
“Please don’t talk about Ethan like you know him. He probably hates me now. Listen, Dad, just let Kilhan and his men go, okay?? Then we can pretend nothing happened. I won’t reach out to him, and I bet he won't too.” I answered, and he heaved a sigh and stood up.
“I can’t do that. Not after he did this to my face.” He answered, pointing to his wounded face.
“So you’ll just kill him?” I asked, and he shrugged.
“Maybe not kill, but he has to be punished. He has done so many wrongs and it will be a crime to just let him go.”
“And his men? His men have done nothing.”
“Maybe I will release them after giving them a few unforgettable marks.”
“Dad! Violence isn’t everything!”
“Oh please! It’s the best approach. I’ll think about your offer. Go and talk to Ethan. He didn’t deserve that. Kilhan is a bastard anyway.” He muttered, turning and walking away.
After he was out of sight, I Took a deep breath. ‘How do I even start talking to Ethan after he heard that.’
“Well, just tell him you said it just to save Kilhan. I know Ethan would understand.” Kiara uttered.
“But it was the truth.”
“Oh girl, get your ass up and go to Ethan!” Kiara yelled in frustration, making me jolt to my feet.
“I hate when you yell,” I mumbled, walking to the stairs. I headed right to Ethan’s room and I met his door shut.
“Ethan.” I knocked on his door, but I got no response.
“Ethan?” I knocked again.
“Go away.” I finally got a response from him.
“Ethan, please. I didn’t mean it, okay?” I answered, and before I heard anything from him, the door opened.
“You and I know that you did mean it. You’ve always been in love with him, and I don’t think that will ever change. I saw the way you looked at him. You have never looked at me that way. You don’t have to keep acting like you feel something for me, okay? You can go to him.” Ethan muttered, and I lowered my head in guilt.
“I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I have always known you don’t love me, but I kept telling myself that it will grow with time. Go to him. I bet he’s happy to see you too.”
“But Ethan…”
The loud noise of his slamming the door against my face hit my ears, causing my words to get stuck in my throat.
“Now you’ve lost another friend. Argh! What the hell is going on?!” Kiara yelled in my head, and my head dropped in sorrow one more time.
“I’m sorry, Ethan.”
