Chapter 20: Alpha Daniel

Millys pov

”Hey, Milly! Stop fucking daydreaming and stand straight before I fire your ass on the spot!” a vicious voice tears through my head, making me groin in pain, that brick. I look up at my boss, a fat middle age man named Joe. He doesn’t do bullshit and doesn’t like slackers, as he says. Right now, me leaning against the counter at six am in the morning, having the worst headache of my life, is slacking off, apparently.

“Give her a break, Joe; she’s never late, never complains, works every night shift, and still has time to study her night classes.” A familiar voice snaps back at him; it's Levi. Most people around here are afraid of Joe, but not Levi. Giving me a huge smile as Joe just puffs and says something about him being “too fucking nice” under his breath as he walks away, I roll my eyes before giving a sincere look of thanks to Levi, who just keeps beaming at me.

He’s a great guy. I presume that having been here for 4 years and being Joe’s sister's kid helps a lot.

“Don’t mind him. I think that Joleen made him sleep on the couch again.” He laughs, and I smile back at him. They all seem so happy being a bigger family; there is no need to say that I’m jealous of being an only child and having two parents retired across the country. I get to see them once every year when I visit them for Christmas.

“Yeah, thanks, I had a rough night….” I rise from the counter of the checkout I’m standing in; there are only a few people in there, most of them not someone that I would want to meet on the street at night. Me working the night shift at a convenience store means I’ve seen some things and then some...

He just nods and gives me a bigger smile. Joe is a prick, but nothing I can’t handle, and I’m not lying about having a rough night…or day, maybe for normal people, the sheer memory of it making me blush on the spot.

Frick.

I was so stupid. I never ever, ever hooked up with strangers, hell I’ve never hooked up with anyone, despite me being nineteen and living alone for almost two years. I don’t trust guys, and they are seldom that interested in me being a taller girl with a slender figure, not sporting much in the more female department. That meant I had small tits and basically no ass, or so I had been told to my face by some rude customers I’ve dealt with over my two years in the service industry.

But that guy yesterday, omg…. I blushed again… he was so freaking hot, the hottest guy I’ve ever seen in my life, standing at the bar that I walked into as usual in the morning to talk to Kerry about getting some extra shift this weekend, I’m not working at the store, and I need the money, I’m trying to save up every damn penny I can get my hands on wanting to get into nursing school.

Right now, I’m just doing online courses and night classes, trying to get my grades up, I was a mess in school, and I’m not proud of it, but hey, here I am, trying to make amends for my past mistakes.

Like I said, I don’t do guys, not randoms, not anyone.

But.

That man.

Omg.

He was sitting further in with his friend, and they had a smaller keg party alone. I snickered at them, thinking we needed to call an ambulance for the alcohol they had been consuming two people.

That’s when I saw his eyes staring at me like I was the most beautiful woman in the world, making me think he was crazy. Men never looked at me that way, sure they could be friendly and might flirt a bit, but most of them were not interested. I was okay with that; I was not used to it, and I knew I was not the curviest woman out there.

They were pure blue.

Don’t ask me how I chose the world purely to describe them, but how they felt staring at me, taking me in like I was his last meal on earth, making me feel like I had never seen anything like him.

Tall, even taller than I was used to; being a tall girl, I was enough to have men being only a few inches over me. Still, he was a freaking giant, towering over me with his full height, dark black, messy hair over a pair of thick brows, and a jawline to die for. He looks like a dangerous supermodel with all that black ink over his arms and torso going up the neck. He was a freaking heartbreaker, and it was written all over that broody face.

And muscles, everywhere, and I mean freaking everywhere, like he didn’t do anything except being in the gym. Still, he didn’t look like one of the snarky beefy guys I was used to seeing around. No, he looked sincere and hungry when our eyes met.

I almost died when he came to greet me, staggering a bit, making me understand why he thought I was beautiful as he claimed when he gave me a dazzling dangerous smile, he was drunk.

His friend was good-looking too, but not like him… Ben… I sighed and leaned against the counter again, my shift was almost over, and I couldn’t wait to get home to my small apartment and sleep, being worn out like a ragdoll from what he had done to me.

I thought maybe it was a dare when they started talking about puppies, and I knew that I was too good to be true, that a guy like him, a freaking god, could be interested in someone like me. I left him and his obnoxious friend high and dry to find another girl stupid enough to get sucked into their games.

I was so sad walking out of there. I didn’t know why either, like my heart, was torn out. I couldn't understand why I was sniveling over a man way out of my league whom I only saw for five minutes and said two words.

That I was shocked when he came after I was the year's biggest understatement. He looked mad, apologized to his asshole friend, and asked if I wanted to get coffee. To my better senses, I said yes.

Walking down to one of the parks, we got coffee, and I told him everything.

About my parents, my dreams, about me wanting to be a nurse working as a midwife eventually, I love kids. I had this silly dream about having a big family since I didn’t have one, except for my parents, that were too busy living their own dreams. Still, I didn’t mind; it wasn’t like we had a good relationship.

I had spilled everything with him just sitting there and listening with coffee in his big hands that he never touched. He just smiled from time to time and kept staring at me like he was hypnotized.

When I asked about him, he told me he was the VP of his friend’s business, and I almost laughed at his serious face. He didn’t look like a VP, not anywhere.

Not from the ink swirling along his huge neck down to his hands and ruffled black hair that needed a trimming two months ago and a plain black T and washed-up jeans that made my mouth water from how they fitted him and his ass like a damn glove.

I pushed my hair back behind my ears. I had silky blonde strands that had loosened from the ponytail I was always having, I didn’t want to cut it, but I was too comfortable to have it in my face all the time when I saw Joe’s sneer again and quickly stood up again, looking at the clock, five minutes to go ignoring the throbbing ache between my legs.

Oh yes, I slept with him.

Don’t ask how it happened, from us sitting in the park having coffee to me screaming out his name in pleasure when he made me come the third time. It left me almost dead afterward, being a freaking virgin and everything.

He kissed me all of a sudden right there on that bench, and that was it. I was lost the moment his lips met mine, and it made me feel like I had never wanted someone ever as bad as I did him.

I didn’t even have time to be shy when I took him back to my place, which was totally uncharacteristic for me. Still, I let that big man in without hesitating, once fully aware he could kill me with one hand. Nobody would find my body until my neighbors complained about the smell.

He just tore my clothes off and stared at me again like I was the most beautiful thing he ever saw. I’m telling you, the man was crazy, but good crazy too… I got a mischievous smile thinking about how he seemed to know every damn trick in the book to get my body on fire. Still, of course, he was older than me, don’t ask me how I knew that cause he looked like he was in his twenties, closer to my age, but his eyes weren’t, so much sorrow and experience hiding in plain sight as I gazed into them, I knew that hurt, I felt it too from my parents telling me that I was adopted.

Yeah, I missed talking about that part; it turns out I was adopted by unknown bio parents; just my luck. I still loved my parents, but we never connected, unlike this attractive man and me. He already crazily felt like family.

I stared at the watch again and sighed, finally.

My shift was up, and I avoided Joe making my way to the lockers and quickly got out before anyone could ask me to fill their shift. No way in hell was I going to do that after yesterday, and I needed myself to be at the mercy of a sex athlete like Ben was.

I sniggered at my own blushing, walking towards my apartment; I lived just a few blocks away. I liked walking even if my pussy felt like it was torn in half by that monster dick he had been using on me. He was huge! Like, I know I was a virgin and all, but really, that guy must have had one of the biggest dicks I ever saw!

Which meant absolutely nothing in the end, my experience.

I lived on the top floor, it was basically the attic and small, like a shoebox, but I liked it. My bed, my laptop, and my phone were all I needed anyway. Opening the door walking the three flights of stairs in the old building wincing with every step I took. I was going to have a long shower and sleep before doing my essay for night school and hopefully wake up not thinking about that sexy man that had been haunting me every second since he left.

That part of it all was still making me want to cry. I don’t know what I expected when he came back here with me, that he would stay, that he would like to see me some more, Have my number at least?

Nope, he was just gone when I woke up in the evening, no note, no sorry, no excuses, just up and gone.

His smell was still left when I opened the door, hitting me like a brick wall, ocean, and lemon, my favorite scents in the world. He just had to have the perfect fragrance as well.

I ignored the tears pushing through my eyes. He didn’t make any promises or say he would stay. Me thinking anything else was stupid and naïve, a poor stupid nineteen-year-old virgin’s dream.

I slammed the door behind me, went directly into the shower, and cried. I know it was stupid, and I was being ridiculous. Still, my heart shattered the minute I sensed that scent again, crushing me like it did when I woke up and realized he was gone.

He just took what he came for, my virginity, and left. He didn’t even have the decency to wrap himself up with a condom or anything. Luckily enough, I was not one of those stupid girls who left things to chance and popped a plan b pill on my way to work. I wanted kids and a family, but not alone, not knocked up by some strange guy, no matter how handsome and sexy he was.

I cried some more when I climbed into my small bed that had barely fitted him making us laugh yesterday before getting busy again. No, it just felt empty, too big all of a sudden.

I was all alone.
