Chapter 59 Eiden

Chapter 59 Eiden
Eiden's POV

\[Liam is playing with Levi.\] Celeste replied to my message ten minutes later.

\[I have good news. David has caught the man. You just hand him over to David. He'll regret targeting Liam.\] The second message was from Celeste.

I frowned. Celeste didn't want me to meet the bastard who intended to kidnap Liam and wouldn't let me beat him up.

I know Celeste doesn't want me to visit her house, and I won't force her, but this isn't fair; I'm Liam's biological father.

Why did he stop me? I also wanted to make that man pay for what he did to Liam. He had been watching Liam all this time, and only yesterday did he dare to approach Liam, even though he knew I was there.

How stupid of me, I didn't realize that. I was completely focused on Celeste, Liam, and Levi.

“I have to respect Celeste’s wishes,” I told myself, but a second later I shook my head and leaned back against the sofa. “No. I can’t. I want to strangle the bastard!”

Damn it. I punched the arm of the sofa repeatedly in frustration.

'You should be glad that guy’s been caught, even if you can’t beat him with your own hands,' my wolf said reassuringly.

'Celeste won’t give that bastard a light punishment. She loves Liam very much,' my wolf added.

My fists clenched tightly, my jaw clenched. Where would I put the energy I'd been gathering since yesterday to punch that bastard in the face?

I was determined not to make Celeste uncomfortable with me. We were Liam's parents, and of course, he wanted us to have a good relationship.

I took a deep breath before replying to Celeste's message. \[I'm glad to hear that. Tell David to break that man's arms and legs more than once.\]

I won't give him a light punishment. Liam is precious to me. The bastard boldly approached Liam in a crowd, and I was even there, which meant he was prepared for death if we caught him.

'Now you’re thinking logically.' My wolf spoke to me again.

'You won’t be able to bring that man into our pack. He doesn’t know you’re the Alpha werewolf. He’s a member of an organization, and he can communicate with his friends through mind links.'

My wolf’s words hit me hard. I forgot about that damn organization.

'You’re right, Arlo.' I nodded.

I would never heard of a werewolf-hating organization in the rogue clan.

I didn’t think rogues were racist or werewolf-hating.

Quite a few Alpha werewolves attack rogues for various reasons, and not all of their members agree with them. Therefore, the rogues don't hate the civilians of those packs.

"Alpha," Beta Serena entered my office and sat down across from me hurriedly. "Tell me, has fake Uncle Liam caught that bastard?"

"Celeste asked me to hand that bastard over to David," I replied.

“Whoa, fake Uncle Liam is amazing.” Beta Serena clapped her hands, her eyes sparkling with admiration. “He’s undoubtedly a professional bodyguard. He can catch criminals in less than a day.”

“His muscular build already tells me he’s no ordinary civilian,” I said.

Then my eyebrows knitted together as my gaze fell on the coffee table. “Celeste must have told him about the organization. She hired him because Liam needed him.” It dawned on me.

“Organization?” Beta Serena looked at me in confusion and pressed me to tell her.

“The man who tried to kidnap Liam is a member of a werewolf-hating organization. I don’t know if all the rogues know about them,” I explained to Beta Serena.

“A werewolf-hating organization?” Beta Serena was as shocked as I was when I heard that from Liam.

“They’ve been targeting Liam for a long time. They’re curious about why he’s a werewolf. They also suspect me because I’m wearing a concealing perfume, a jacket, a mask, and glasses,” I said.

“Moon Goddess.” Beta Serena covered her mouth, her eyes wide. “Maybe they’re planning to kidnap you, too.”

“I thought so.” I shrugged.

Knowing about that organization made me want to persuade Liam to stay in my pack. He would be safe here, but he would have to let me announce him as my son so my enemies wouldn't wonder who he was.

“Don’t you wonder who Celeste really is? How did she hire David? Don’t you want to find out?” Beta Serena looked at me eagerly, hoping I’d nod this time.

“No.” I shook my head. “I’m not going to find out about her personal life. I’m sure she’ll tell me someday.”

Actually, I wasn’t sure. Celeste seemed to be keeping her personal life under wraps unless our relationship was going to go beyond this.

I hadn’t really thought about whether I’d ask Celeste to give me a second chance.

I didn’t know if getting back together was a good thing for us, and it seemed like I was the only one who wanted it.

Night had fallen, and an hour after dinner, I worked out at the gym for two hours.

I didn't really like exercising at night because the fatigue would make me sleepy, but I needed to burn off the energy I had prepared to beat that bastard up.

I sat on the edge of my bed. I didn't plan on sleeping that night. I would still be alive tomorrow, even if I hadn't slept for a few days.

\[I guarantee the accuracy of this information, and no one knows about it yet. You can either ask him to show you the woman or meet his stepbrother yourself.\]

I smiled broadly with relief. I finally discovered Alpha Jackson's secret. I immediately made an appointment with him.

\[I think you should see a therapist, Alpha. Maybe those professionals can help you stop having nightmares.\]

I froze when I read the second message from the rogue intel. Was I really under that much stress that my subconscious could only create nightmares?

But I didn't find anything that stressed me out. Instead, I nearly went crazy from having nightmares.

I stared at the name on my screen. A smile crept across my face without me realizing it. Even my heart skipped a beat.

Without a second thought, I called Celeste. I didn’t care if I was bothering her or whether she’d pick up.

“Hello, Celeste.” I quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

“Hello.” Celeste’s voice remained soft over the phone. It was soothing to hear. “What’s wrong?”

“Can you send me a picture of that bastard? I want to see it,” I said, standing at the window, gazing up at the moon and stars.

“Okay. I’ll send you the picture tomorrow,” Celeste said. “Why don’t you just text me?”

“I want to tell you in person.” I grinned, imagining the look on her face.

“I’ve got Alpha Jackson’s secret. That man won’t dare to find out more about us.” I was very confident.

“Perfect. I’m relieved to hear that,” Celeste said. “Did you call me because you couldn’t sleep?”

“I’ve been caught. You guessed exactly right.” I scratched my head, grinning sheepishly. “Are you tired of hearing me talk about my nightmares?”

“No,” Celeste said immediately, without hesitation. “I feel bad for you. You refuse to sleep, and you almost passed out once after staying awake for days.”

My heart warmed hearing that. If Celeste had said something like that to my face, I probably would have hugged her to hide my blush.

“I’m planning to see a therapist. What do you think?” I asked Celeste for her opinion.

“Yeah, that’s a great idea. You should try it,” Celeste said. "You often go days without sleep. Don't let yourself get a dangerous disease."

“Yeah, I’ll make an appointment with a therapist.” I've actually been looking for recommendations for therapists in my pack on the internet for a long time.

I smiled broadly. Her words made me feel less hesitant about consulting a therapist. I didn't want to get sick because Liam would worry about me, even though I was curious how Celeste would react.
