Chapter 58 Celeste

Chapter 58 Celeste
Celeste's POV

The prison lay underground, dark and damp, suffocating, completely soundproof and sealed off from the outside world.

Sometimes the warriors were too lazy to go down the spiral staircase to deliver food to the prisoners, but they were always eager to punish them with the whip.

We threw the four men who released the tiger into the forest Benedict would cross into that prison. Their faces were almost unrecognizable—punishment for refusing to reveal who hired them to carry out such a vile act.

However, that day, I didn't visit the prison to see the four men.

I met the blue-eyed man who, an hour ago, had become the new occupant of the room. The bruises on his face had disappeared, thanks to his body's rapid regeneration.

The blue-eyed man hadn't been punished yet. His sentence was still being determined. Perhaps I would be the first to make him pay for what he had done.

"Whoa, how can you have a prison in your house? You also have a lot of subordinates who look very well trained in various things.”

The blue-eyed man showed no fear of us. He spoke his mind without hesitation.

“Is a woman not allowed to be wealthy? I earned all of this with my own effort.” I spread my arms arrogantly. “We live in modern times. Women are no longer banned from owning what men have.”

My acting was excellent, wasn't it? I was perfectly suited to the role of a wealthy, arrogant, independent woman.

In truth, I wasn’t wealthy at all. I only managed Benedict’s assets and lived off a monthly salary as an Alpha.

We can't tell the blue-eyed man who we are because he can communicate with his friends through a mind link.

Liam would be in even greater danger if the werewolf-hating organization found out that I was the Alpha of a rogue assassin group.

Of course, they wouldn't hesitate to spread the news, and then they would become even more suspicious of Alpha Eiden's identity.

“Why is your organization targeting my son?” I stepped into a prison cell half the size of my room. We were so kind to them to build an indoor bathroom.

“How did you know I was a member of the organization?” The blue-eyed man narrowed his eyes. I ignored the suspicions swirling in his mind.

“I have plenty of money. I have connections. Why are you surprised?” I stood a step in front of him, my arms folded across my chest.

The blue-eyed man sat on the floor, wrists and ankles shackled, chains coiled around his stomach. He was still young, and he would spend the rest of his life here—we never release those we capture.

“He’s only five years old. He doesn’t know much about this cruel world. He's never done anything bad and will never do anything bad. I'll make sure he grows up to be a good boy," I said, my emotions welling up.

"He's not wrong to live in a rogue clan. Until now, the people around him haven't had a problem with his presence, but why is your organization so determined to get rid of him?" I stomped on the man's hand with a glare.

“Why does a organization that barely makes up one percent of the rogue population feel so threatened by a werewolf living in this clan?” I pressed my foot against his hand, making him hiss in pain.

My emotions rose to my throat, and my body burned with anger. Liam had nightmares last night because of the man in front of me. I couldn't imagine what it would be like if this bastard managed to get Liam to his base.

"I know it's pointless to lecture you because of your immense hatred for werewolves, and I don't want to hear your reasons for hating them. I don't care about the sad life story of someone who has bad intentions towards my son," I growled, the veins standing out on my neck.

I didn't waste this opportunity. No one was with me.

I couldn't find a whip or any other tools. My burning anger towards him drove me to brutally hit, kick, and stomp on the blue-eyed man.

A feeling of joy spread from my chest to my entire body. There was no fatigue or shortness of breath. This was what I should have done to defend my son.

My wolf laughed happily. 'I like it when you're angry. I'll give you my energy. Knock him out, Celeste!'

I smiled while smashing his head into the wall. My smile widened at the sight of blood dripping down his head and his once-handsome face reduced to a mess.

"Easy there, madam. You're supposed to be elegant, smiling sweetly," Beta Dylan's voice echoed. "Violence doesn't suit you. Leave it to the men."

I turned around and saw Beta Dylan standing in front of the bars. He stopped me, but he was actually enjoying the show I was putting on. I knew he’d been watching me for a while.

“Get some rest. You’ve already beaten him up. And it’s not ethical to beat someone who’s already unconscious,” Beta Dylan said gently, coaxing me to leave the dying man alone.

"You've shown him that he can't underestimate you. He'll definitely report what you did to him to his friends." Beta Dylan smiled proudly at me.

I observed the blue-eyed man, who had passed out after I slammed his head hard against the wall. Bruises covered his entire body, his ribs were broken, and his face was covered in blood.

His body's regeneration was slow due to the numerous injuries he had sustained.

The pain he felt was excruciating, yet it meant nothing compared to the terror he had left behind in Liam’s heart, a fear that could linger for the rest of his life.

I never considered eradicating that werewolf-hating organization. It seems I'll consider it now.

"I'm not done beating him up yet." I climbed the spiral staircase, leaving the prison with heavy steps.

A feeling of relief filled my chest, but somehow I wasn't satisfied, especially when I remembered the fear that flashed in Liam's eyes last night when he said he was glad Alpha Eiden saved him from that man.

Luckily, it was Saturday. Liam didn't have school. Hopefully, Liam wouldn't panic every time he saw the school gate.

“Then what do you want? You want him to die by your hands? Are you ready to go to hell?” Beta Dylan raised an eyebrow. We stood in front of the door to the dungeon.

“You’re really not funny.” I snorted. Then I walked ahead of him.

“I’m serious.” Beta Dylan stroked my back as we walked side by side. “Don’t worry. We’ll punish him cruelly because we don’t like other people touching our members.”

“I know.” I nodded. My brow furrowed, feeling uncomfortable with Beta Dylan, who was stroking my back for too long.

“Aren’t you going to reward me? I joined the team to find that damn man.” Beta Dylan grinned broadly and looked at me expectantly. He looked like a child asking for a reward after helping clean the house.

“You had no right to ask for a reward,” I snapped irritably. “If I hadn’t approved it, you wouldn’t have gone with them. You volunteered for that mission.”

“Yeah, well, at least you thanked me, and I saw your happy smile when you got the news,” Beta Dylan said. I felt a little weirded out by his words, but I didn’t think much of it.

“Oh, I’ve already decided that starting tomorrow, I’ll be waiting for Liam at the playground again. If you won’t let me take Levi, I’ll entrust Levi to you and Gamma Silas.” I said firmly, showing him I wouldn’t change my mind.

I won't transfer Liam to another school because Benedict wanted him there, and Liam didn't want to move. He would fight his fear.
