Chapter 16 Chapter 16
(Jasper's POV):
I raised the back of my palm and wiped away Martha's tears.
"It's okay. You don't have to cry," I told her, but she shook her head vigorously.
"How can I not cry? What will happen to me now? Will I die? I have heard stories of werewolves killing humans and drinking their blood," Martha said, trembling next to me.
"No way. Take a look at me. Have I killed you? Did anyone die? Those werewolves are rogues or those who turn feral. You cannot die, okay? The only issue is that the man who slept with you is a strong werewolf. You need to take some pills to flush out whatever you're carrying from him. He's like a Prince in my kingdom—from the werewolf pack I came from. He will never accept you or love you if you happen to conceive his baby. He will reject you because they are protecting the pack from human exposure. So I will contact my doctor to help you get the pills, okay?" I said, holding Martha's hand as I raised my right hand and caressed her left cheek.
Martha peered at my face with tears in her eyes.
"Are you saying the man was a Prince? Do you know him?"
"No..." I lied. I didn't want to admit that I knew him. "I just heard of him and I have seen him come here. You know, as a werewolf, I own this restaurant. Most of my fellow werewolves come here to eat."
"But you just told me that you're from the Dark Mountain Pack. He also comes from there. Are you lying to me? Tell me what you know about that man?" Martha asked, and my brows furrowed.
My wolf and I were hurt. We thought that we would have a family with Martha. But she was claimed by our alpha.
How was she able to withstand his rut?
My eyes shifted to Martha's waist, and her eyes narrowed at me.
"What are you looking at?" she asked, catching me staring at her thighs.
"I was wondering how you were able to take the man's rut. He's an alpha wolf, and he is twice the size of a normal wolf like me. So how could you take him?" I asked her, and her cheeks flushed as she smacked my hands away. She was very beautiful when she blushed like that.
"I almost died. I thought I was going to die. He was indeed huge, but I had no idea he was really a werewolf. I was just blinded by the money. I need it to get my stepmother and stepsister arrested!" She said, her fist clenched and her gaze darkened.
"You should have come to me for help," I gently scolded her, but she shook her head and looked away.
"I didn't want to bother you. If only I knew," she replied with regret.
"It's fine. Let me call Dr. Tina. I'm sure she can help you get strong pills to flush out the sperm. An alpha's baby would be strong, and having a werewolf baby would raise suspicion," I informed her, and she trembled, sitting on the bed.
"Please go on."
I pulled out my phone and called Dr. Tina. She answered immediately.
"I'm on my way, Jasper. What's up with the lady? Has she woken up?" Tina asked, and I looked at Martha's worried face and answered.
"Yes, she has. I need you to get pregnancy prevention pills. I think she may have been with a werewolf last night—possibly an alpha," I said firmly.
Tina gasped, "What? Where did she find a werewolf to mate with?"
"I cannot explain now. Get the medicine ASAP." I ended the call and looked at Martha's face. The blood bag was half empty.
"Dr. Tina will be here soon," I assured her. "She'll help you get medication to get rid of the sperm." I assured her, and Martha nodded.
"Thank you, Mr. Weston. I owe you a lot."
"Don't mention it. I've admired you for a while now, Martha. I was looking forward to asking you out, but I didn't want to rush you. You were a student, and I knew you were hardworking. But you have captured my interest for a long time," I said, my tone steady but sincere, and Martha lowered her head.
"I do not deserve you, sir. You are too kind," Martha added, and I laughed.
"I'm not worthy of you. But I want to ask for a chance to be with you when you are ready. I'm not in a hurry. You need to settle things with your family and process the truth about who I am," I said, striking up a friendly conversation.
Martha continued to sit on the bed, gazing at me.
"Do you go out to shift into your wolf? I still can't believe that my good boss is a werewolf. How many other werewolves are here in this city? How about my stepmother and stepsister? Do you think they are werewolves?" Martha asked with a serious tone, and I laughed aloud, clutching my belly.
"They are humans. All of them."
She sighed with relief and asked, "You haven't answered me. When do you shift?"
"Do you want me to shapeshift? I will if you want to meet my wolf, Ivan," I said gently, and she smiled.
"Not today. I don't want to pass out again."
"Got it," I responded, and she asked for water. My phone rang. It was Tina—she had arrived.
"I will be back," I said, walking to the door. I went out to greet Dr. Tina in the foyer of my private suite on the top floor of my resturant.
When I reached the wooden door and pulled it open, Dr. Tina stood there beaming, wearing a white top and black trousers. She was a slender, fair-skinned young woman, and I knew she had a crush on me.
"I had to rush down to the pharmacy to get the pills. Why would she have unprotected sex with a stranger?" Dr. Tina asked, stepping into the room before I could stop her. She rushed to Martha's door.
"Wait. She's awake. You shouldn't scare her or bombard her with too many questions," I told Dr. Tina, as her fingers dangled over the doorknob.
"Got it," Dr. Tina answered with a smile before she pushed the door open and stepped into the room to meet Martha.
I strode toward the room and went in to meet them, so Martha wouldn't be scared of Dr. Tina.
