Chapter Ninety-Three

Ajax POV

“We were just talking about you Father,” Oscar said.

“Yeah, he was about to tell me how I don’t know you. Spit it out, Oscar!”

“You’ve always been so impatient, that’s why you have such a bad reputation.”

I dragged a hand down my face. This is ridiculous.

“While you two are here bickering Reign and I successfully saved the Pack from an invasion!” Dad blasted.

“I knew you could handle it,” Oscar grumbled.

“Oscar of all the foolish things you’ve done this is the most idiotic!” Dad trembled with rage.

“Are you regretting your decision now?” Oscar asked.

“I’ve always regretted making you Alpha. Even you know you weren’t cut out for the job.”

I called Bullshit. Odin knew what he was doing when he chose Oscar to be Alpha. He can’t start crying now.

“Then why not tell Ajax the truth now? Put it out in the open!” Oscar threw his arms in the air.

“Enough!” Dad blasted.

“Tell me what?” I asked, planting my hands on my hips.

“Nothing don’t listen to him he’s probably high on pills or something. Put him to sleep Reign,” Dad ordered.

Reign grumbled and marched over to the wheelchair. They opened a can of worms here.

“Oscar tell me the truth,” I demanded.

My brother looked away and focused on his wife, helping him get out of the wheelchair.

“Tell me or else I’ll tell Reign what you did,” I said through gritted teeth.

Reign froze and stood straight.

“What did he do this time? What did you do Oscar?” Reign blasted.

Oscar scowled. “Dick!”

“Tell me then!” I yelled.

“No, you tell me. Because when they all leave it’s just going to be us and I’ll slaughter you, Oscar.”

My brother visibly swallowed. I smirked. This was one of the few times I appreciated her. I noticed my Dad was red-faced and stiff.

“I’m not going down alone. I found out that Daddy here was responsible for Remi’s death and her precious child. He then made you slaughter the Pack you thought was responsible for her death because he made a deal similar to the one you’re all mad at me for but instead of being noble and just he had his favourite son clean up his mess for him. There it’s all out on the table. Are you happy now?”

Blood rushed to my ears. I could barely think. My wolf’s thirst for blood was catastrophic. I stared at my Father’s terror-stricken eyes.

“You have every right to be afraid,” I stalked forward. “I should kill you right now.”

“Ajax please,” he backed up.

“Why?” I asked.

He remained silent.

“Why! I destroyed an innocent pack because of your recklessness!”

He backed into the wall and quaked. I forgot he was my Father. He was a monster. I can’t believe I ever cared what this monster thought about anything. I hated him. I wanted his blood.

“What did Remi ever do to you? Why would you kill her?”

“You were going to give everything up. You were going to leave because of a simple she-wolf without a title. I did what I had to do.”

“Yet you still chose Oscar?” I pointed at my brother.

“He found out what I did and blackmailed me. Son, I—”

“Don’t! Don’t ever call me that. You are not my Father. I don’t have one. To hell with you with all of you! Damn this Pack to hell. I should burn it.”

“Ajax you can’t…” Reign said, fear floating in her eyes.

“Can’t I? You have no idea who I am.” I marched out of the bedroom but paused in the hall.

“Reign, Oscar got his doctor pregnant. Congratulations the Pack has an heir too bad there won’t be a Pack for him to run.”

“You bastard!” Reign screeched as soon as I marched through the hall and ran downstairs.

My blood boiled violently. I needed to run, to smash something more importantly I needed to burn this fucking Pack to the ground. That’s why Oscar chased Rebecca when she first arrived years ago. He knew everything.

“Damn them all to hell!” I drove the car off the property

A thousand thoughts swirled in my mind. I regretted sending Ross away now because I needed him to help me light this Pack on fire! An idiot stood in the middle of the road. It was a woman in a long black dress, her stringy hair blowing in the wind. Alexandra, or the lowlife goddess pretending to be her. I hit the gas, not caring about the consequences. I gripped the wheel as the car raced to wipe her clean off the road but it never made contact. The car swerved off the road. I struggled to control it just as I thought the vehicle would flip it landed in a ditch.

“Fuck!” I hit the wheel.

Why did I think a car would be strong enough to kill a goddess?

I kicked the door open. I climbed out of the car without a scratch and my rage intact. I’ll just have to kill her with my bare hands.

“Come out and fight! I won’t just hand my daughter over.”

The wind responded mockingly. It was dark, the sky was obscured with grey clouds and the trees danced to the rhythm of the wind. I scanned the road for the goddess but she vanished into thin air.

“Coward!” I barked.

I really wanted to kill someone and she was the best candidate right now.

“Ajax,” a familiar voice said.

I turned around and shut my eyes in frustration.

“I’ve been following you,” Dimitri said.

“You don’t say?” I said through gritted teeth.

He stepped forward. He reeked of alcohol and cigarette smoke.

“I know you’ve been accused of killing Rebecca,” he said.

“I didn’t do it!”

“I know that, I think I know who did.”
