Chapter Ninety-Two

**Ajax POV

I took my family to a hotel again because my house was infested with moon magic. I was already looking for a new home. There’s no way I was going back to that insanity. Delanie was in the bedroom feeding Annika while I cleaned up in the bathroom. I didn’t want things to go like this any longer. I trusted Cheryl but I doubted she was strong enough to fight this on her own.

We left her at our house hours ago working on penetrating the moon magic. She was determined and I appreciated it, but my gut had other ideas. I knew I couldn’t burn the house down but I could get her back up.

My phone vibrated on the bathroom counter. It was a text from Reign. She needed me at the Pack House.

If this didn’t have anything to do with Oscar’s mess, then I would have brushed it off but this was a matter of Pack security. The last thing I needed was an invasion to break out.

“I need to go to the Pack House, are you going to be okay?” I asked.

She turned to me. Delanie was tired and worried I could see it in her eyes.

“We’ll be fine, Ajax.”

“I wouldn’t leave if it wasn’t important, babe.”

“Is everything okay?”

“It will be. It’s not as important as you and Annika but if things go south with this it’ll affect your safety.”

Delanie nodded. “I understand, babe. She’s about to sleep and I’m going to pass out any minute.”

I settled on the bed beside her and kissed her.

“I’m sorry, babe.” I kissed her again, dragging her bottom lip before devouring her lips again. Annika protested and I let her mother go.

“Fine, I’m going,” I said.

“Be careful okay?” she looked at me with concern.

She was worried about me and I was worried about her. I just wanted us to live in peace.

“I will. See you later.”

I arrived at the Pack House. Ross was outside leaning against his truck, messing with his phone.

“Is the other pack here yet?” I asked.

Ross shoved his phone in his pocket and nodded. “Yeah. Reign’s trying to handle them.”

“Where’s Oscar?” This is his mess why’s he not trying to clean it up?

“With his doctor. Apparently, it’s important.”

“Damn him. Fine, I don’t need you to go in with me.”

Ross frowned. “Are you kidding me? You need backup.”

“I’ll be fine. I need you to do me a favour.”

“What?”

“I need you to go to Star City. I need a witch. One strong enough to go against a goddess.”

“That’s like looking for a needle in a haystack, dude.”

“If I don’t find one I might lose my daughter. That’s not an option man!”

“Okay, I’ll do anything for Annika. I’ll leave now this is going to take forever.”

I wish I had forever but I didn’t.

I marched into the Pack House and heard my Father’s voice first. Knowing he was here made me comfortable. He’d negotiated with countless Packs and most times things were resolved without any bloodshed but other times he called me in to fix things which resulted in bloodshed.

I shouldn’t go in there until Dad’s done talking so I went upstairs to Oscar’s room. I raised my fist to knock but a soft feminine voice grabbed my attention.

“I’m worried Oscar,” she said.

It didn’t sound like the tone of a professional doctor more like the tone of a worried lover. Maybe I was reaching here. Oscar was supposed to be with his doctor.

“Don’t be worried, my love,” my brother said.

My love? That’s definitely not the doctor.

What’s wrong with this man? His wife is downstairs and she’s insane!

“I’m scared and I ’m-I’m nervous. Everyone keeps asking questions and I-I—”

“Shaina stop. Do you want to lose the baby?”

“No.”

“Then calm the fuck down. Nothing’s going to happen to you. I’m the Alpha, remember?”

“What about your wife?” she sniffled.

“Don’t worry about Reign. We don’t give a fuck about each other anyway. I care about our baby that’s all. Go home and get some rest. We’ll talk tomorrow.”

“Fine. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I rubbed my forehead. I can’t believe what my brother did. Delanie’s suspicions were correct. The door swung open and Shaina froze.

“O-oh, Alpha Ajax.” She seemed to shrink with each second.

“Shaina,” I said.

“I-I was just checking on your brother. He’s making progress every day. Which is good.”

“I didn’t ask,” I said through clenched teeth.

“Ajax, come in and close the door,” Oscar said.

I stepped aside and Shaina hurried off. I slammed the door shut.

“Really?” I yelled.

“Who questioned you when you took a slave for a mate?” he rolled his eyes.

“Everyone!” I barked.

He bobbed his head from left to right. “True. Shaina isn’t a slave though so your situation is still worse.”

“Oh fuck off. You’re married and she’s pregnant what are you going to tell Reign?”

“Keep your voice down. I don’t want her to find out.”

“Because you’re a coward, Oscar. You’re fucked!”

“I can take her as a breeder or an omega. There are laws that protect me from stuff like this. Reign won’t have a say.”

My blood boiled. I loved Delanie with every fibre of my being I would never do this to her. I towered over my brother in his wheelchair.

“What is else Shaina worried about?” I asked.

“None of your business,” he said, looking away.

“So she’s not just worried about your wife finding out?”

“I said it’s none of your business!”

I laughed cynically. “You’re here hiding away while everyone else handles your mess. Dad’s down there making sure we don’t get attacked.”

“Isn’t that your job?” He snapped. “I made you Alpha General for a fucking reason.”

“I should quit,” I barked. “I’ve been cleaning up your shit for years. You and Dad.”

Oscar threw his head back and laughed. “My messes can’t compare to his! I’m sure you don’t even know the man you call Dad.”

“What the hell’s that supposed to mean?” I marched forward.

The bedroom door flew open. Dad and Reign marched in.

“Speak of the devil and he’ll arrive,” Oscar said with a wicked smirk.
