Chapter 21
Lucien took her hand towards the entrance, where four bodyguards followed behind them. Right at the entrance, someone Layla least wanted to meet appeared with a woman Layla knew.
"Oh Mr. Schneider, have you come?" Said John Weisz, whose expression immediately changed when he realized that Lucien had not come alone, but had brought a woman who was familiar to him.
John Weisz gave a cynical look when he saw Layla standing next to Lucien wearing an expensive dress from a well-known fashion brand. Layla looked fine and that made him feel a little upset because it clearly wasn't what he expected.
Meanwhile, Layla tried to suppress the trembling in her body when she saw John with a woman who was her close friend, Sophie Weber. She didn't know why Sophie was here with John because as far as she knew, Sophie had never come to this casino while she and John were still together.
"Sophie?" She held back a strange feeling. Either jealous or confused because she saw her friend holding her husband intimately. However, when the two women looked at each other, Sophie actually showed an arrogant reaction instead of feeling guilty because she was caught holding hands intimately with her friend's husband.
"Hi, Layla? Long time no see, you look really beautiful today." Sophie said. Her behavior actually got worse, she embraced John's arm affectionately as if to show that they had a special relationship behind Layla's back.
"What are you doing here?" Layla asked in a sarcastic tone. It was difficult for her to hide her anger.
"John asked me to accompany him today, because it seemed like he was lonely after you decided to go with another man. Oh I'm sorry, is he Mr. Lucien Schneider who is going to buy this casino?"
"Sophie, shut up!" John tried to silence Sophie because it seemed like he didn't want Layla to know that he was going to sell the casino to Lucien.
"What does that mean? You want to sell this casino?"
"That's none of your business! Mr. Schneider, why did you bring my wife to this place?" John said in an annoyed tone. He really didn't expect that Lucien would be so reckless as to take Layla with him.
"I'm free to bring anyone with me, right? Besides, I'm the only one willing to bid this casino a high price."
"You're right, but you shouldn't have brought this woman with you and-"
"Layla is my partner now, I gave you a lot of money and don't have any authority over what I will do with her. I plan to gift this casino to her and if you agree to my offer, please take care of all the documents and hand them over to Layla!"
Layla couldn't stop smiling when she saw the looks on John and Sophie's faces when they heard Lucien say that Lucien would gift the casino to her.
She didn't want to believe it because for her all this was too good to be true. The casino was worth millions of dollars and it was definitely not a cheap gift to give.
"Where are we going?" Lyra asked nervously. Instead of talking about what happened at the casino 40 minutes ago. Instead, she asked about their next destination.
"It's time for lunch. We'll go to the restaurant and eat first!" He said. He is so charismatic that it is very difficult for anyone to resist his charm.
He almost always wears a formal suit, a black jacket, shirt and trousers. Even when he is at home he still wears a black shirt and trousers. Lyra remembered that she had never seen Lucas in casual clothes like his six brothers.
Their car stopped in front of a luxurious restaurant and when they stepped inside, the restaurant waiters immediately served them with very special service. But strangely, not a single guest came to eat at this restaurant apart from the two of them as if this restaurant had been rented privately just for them.
Lyra looked at the situation around her, it was quite strange. She had eaten at this restaurant several times with Jonathan. At that time there were always other guests who came to this restaurant and they were served as well as other guests. However, this time it was very different, apart from only the two of them coming, the service provided was also very exclusive. Several servants even lined up behind them neatly.
"Usually this restaurant is quite busy, but today it seems different."
"I don't like eating in the same room as strangers, so I rented this restaurant for three hours, so we can eat in peace."
"What? So you rented this restaurant?"
"Yes." A very short and flat response from someone who easily spends a lot of money just to eat at a restaurant without any hassle.
Lyra was silent, she really couldn't believe that there was someone like Lucas Schneider in this world. She knew there were quite a lot of rich people in this world who could easily buy anything. But buying a casino to gift to a woman he had only known for three days and renting a five-star luxury restaurant for lunch without interference from other people was the craziest thing she had ever known.
Not to mention that his mansion is very spacious and magnificent and far from residential areas, making it even clearer that Lucas Schneider is not an ordinary man.
"Who are you really?" Without realizing it, the question just came out of Lyra's mouth. She couldn't help but be curious about who Lucas Schneider really was.
Lucas looked at her with the same expression as if he felt that Lyra's question was not an important one that he had to answer.
"Eat! You can order whatever you want."
"Why don't you answer my question? I mean, about the casino. Why do you want to gift the casino to me?"
