“Where did you want to look?”
Carlos frowned, thought of something, and took out an ointment. “Apply it three times a day. Check if the tear is seri- ous. If it’s just minor, it should heal quickly. She’s not in good shape. The aftereffects from that car accident a few years ago are still there, and it seems like she hasn’t been eating well these past years. Let her rest and recover for a while first.”
Garrett took the ointment and stopped talking.
After Carlos left, he first brought a basin of water, used a towel to carefully wipe her whole body, and finally lifted the blanket to check her there and applied some medicine.
There didn’t seem to be any injuries you could see, maybe she had a low blood sugar episode, that’s why she cried, fussed, and scratched.
He let out a sigh of relief. After all the rushing around, it was already close to twelve.
When the servant pushed the door open and came in, she saw him wiping Adrienne’s fingers with a towel, cleaning each one carefully, like he was handling some fragile porcelain.
This group of servants was just replaced, the previous ones were all sent away.
“Mr. Melendez, did you want more sweet water?”
“No need, just take it out.”
He looked at Adrienne and noticed her face looked much better, so he put the towel back in the basin.
The servant didn’t dare look more and went out right away with the bowl. When closing the door, they saw Garrett sitting by the bed, using a tissue nearby to wipe Adrienne’s sweat.
On their first day here, they were told to treat Adrienne as Mrs. Melendez.
They used to be from the Melendez’s mansion, so it wasn’t like they hadn’t heard the rumors about Adrienne.
People all said Mr. Melendez didn’t love Mrs. Melendez and hated her to the core, but the way he acted didn’t look like he didn’t love her at all.
Adrienne had a high fever again at night and thought about her first time with Garrett.
That night, the two of them slept holding each other. She was a bit upset and in the morning, she drank a bottle of cheap baijiu from a store outside to give herself some courage.
Garrett got mad and grabbed the bottle, held her by the back of her neck and made her spit it out.

Thinking back on it now, that scene was still kind of funny.
She wouldn’t spit it out, so he kissed her.

What happened next was only natural. Garrett was two years older than her, but he didn’t have any experience either. He kept secretly watching her face, and whenever she showed any discomfort, he got nervous and didn’t dare to do anything else.
Adrienne didn’t feel bad at that time, she just felt really happy.
A man who tried meat for the first time wanted more. During that time, the two were together a lot, but that was also when Garrett was the busiest.
He started his own business in his junior year. Back then, he was looking for investors everywhere and was so busy every day that his feet barely touched the ground.
But as long as they had free time, they pretty much spent it in bed.
Garrett told people, Adrienne was the best gift heaven gave me, she’s my life, I’ll never let her down.
These memories floated through Adrienne’s mind, and tears just rolled down, disappearing into her hair.
Garrett sat by the bed and gently wiped her tears. He didn’t know why she was crying.
“What did you dream about?”
He asked softly, and he also knew she couldn’t answer now.
It was only at this moment that they weren’t glaring at each other.
He went to the bathroom and took a shower. When he came out, he saw that the person on the bed wasn’t lying flat, but was on their side, curled up. This was a protecting oneself posture.
Garrett lay down on the bed and yanked her over, pulling her into his arms.
Adrienne used to love sleeping in his arms. Sometimes she woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t find him, so she would go looking for him.
