Chapter 7: The Days to Come

I open my eyes; my head hurts. I'm naked, where am I? What happened last night? What time is it? I sit up and look around. I see juice and Advil on the table. Sweet I take it and wrap myself in the blanket and get out of bed. I turn on the light so I can see where I am, even though I assume I am at Adam’s. I start looking around the room. It's a typical guy’s room, a Hines Ward jersey on the wall, a Blue Jeremys flag hanging on a different wall, a collage picture frame with a picture of Adam with his family in the center and 4 pictures surrounding it. I recognise Adam in all the other pictures but look at the other people in the photos, Adam and 3 other guys dressed up in dress shirts and ties, Adam with 2 other guys looks like at a party, Adam with his sister jumping into a body of water and Adam with his Dad holding a huge fish. I remember what Adam said when he was looking around my room that you can tell a lot about someone by their room. What can I tell so far, he loves his family, which I already knew. looks like he has 2 different groups of friends back home. He doesn’t talk a lot about them though. I continue to look around, there is something that looks like a bank but it is filled with ticket stubs. A bookcase with all sorts of school textbooks. On his desk I find my clothes and purse, I throw his blanket back on his bed and get dressed. I grab my phone to see what time it is 11am. mmm I wonder where Adam is? I listen to my voicemail and read my text messages.

“Hi honey, it’s mom just checking in on you, miss you, love you, call me.”

I will call her later, hang up, and check my texts.

Lacey: Are you okay? Did you make it home?

I love you so much,I’m happy you are so happy bc being happy is awesome Yo did you survive the night? I'm so hungover, wish we had Sambo’s in the T-dot Me: Morning, barely alive, mmm sambos. At Adam’s afraid to face him!Text you later re-do tonight with less booze.

I put my cell back in the purse, put my purse across my body, take a deep breath and open Adam’s bedroom door slowly. I’m so nervous to face him or see his room mates. I peek out the door into the hallway and see no one, but I can see the front door from here. I tiptoe down the hallway and peek around the corner. I feel like a spy or a robber. I'm not sure which one fits the situation. All I know is I want to get the heck outta here fast. I run to the front door, find my shoes, grab them quickly as I hear Adam’s voice coming from somewhere, I don’t know who he is talking to and I’m not sticking around to find out. I open the front door to step outside, crap it’s bright out. I sit on the front step to put on my shoes. I have no idea where I am. Standing on the front steps I look in my purse for a pair of sunglasses. I feel like garbage and the sun is way too bright for today. I don’t even know what way to walk but I pick a direction and start walking. When I come to an intersection, I will call a cab to pick me up. As I’m walking down the street, I suddenly feel shady for just darting out of my boyfriend’s house like that. I’m also super embarrassed because I have no idea what I did last night or how we ended up at his house. I better text him.

Me: Good Morning, well I hope it is anyways. I’m sorry for whatever I did last night, the night is a bit blurry. But thanks for bringing me to your place. I let myself out, I’ll msg you later when I’m no longer utterly embarrassed.

Okay so I’m assuming this is not going to go over well. I’ll just brace myself now for it. Yup and right on que my phone is ringing.

“Hey,” I answer my voice is so horsey.

“Why did you just leave?” asks Adam he sounds hurt.

“I’m not a fan of the walk of shame, nor did I want to meet your roommates after a sloppy, messy night, and I’m kind of embarrassed to see you. The last thing I remember is dancing with you.” I answer in an ashamed voice.

“Stay put, I'll come get you.” It sounds like he’s already moving.

“No, it’s cool, I called a cab already, I’ll see you around,” I tell him.

“What does that mean? One slobby night and you’ll see me around?” He asks.

“No I didn’t mean it like that I just mean I’ll see you later, I’m tired and hungover and I just want my bed for a few more hours,” I tell him.

“Fine, Can I come over later, bring you dinner maybe?”

“Actually, I’m going out with Lace tonight for a girl’s night, I’ll call you tomorrow. Okay?”

“Don’t shut me out, Last night was fun, you may have done some cartwheels on the dance floor and then puked and then passed out on the street bench. But we got you home in one piece, and nothing happened. Well we did have a shower together again, I’m not sure what’s up with us and bathrooms but I’m not complaining.” He laughs slightly and I can hear the lust in his voice. I stopped walking and can not believe I did all that. I’m speechless and embarrassed.

“Babe are you still there?” All I can do is hum a yes in response.

“Please tell me where you are and let me drive you home.” Adam’s voice is pleading. Feeling all sorts of emotions I sigh and give in.

“I’m not even a block away,” I tell him quietly. I turn around and start walking back to Adam’s house.

“I’m walking back to your house. Can you meet me out front? I don’t want to meet your roommates and I don’t remember exactly which one is your house.” I can hear Adam’s voice change.

“Already on the front steps.” He sounds relieved. I hang up and immediately call my mom.

“Hi, Honey.”

“Hi Momma, how are you and dad doing?”

“Same old. How are you? Where have you been all week? Normally you call, are your classes too much?”

“Slow down Mom I’m fine I’ve just been busy; I’ve made some new friends and been hanging out with Lacey a lot. School is not too bad, trainers’ program I need to keep up with daily, a lot of the same classes as massage and you know how that went a few years back. Dance is fun learning some new tricks and moves. You should see the other students who are so good. And some of the second years keep talking about a showcase. Apparently 1st years are never chosen but we can audition. I’m not sure if I will, Adam probably will, I can’t wait to see him dance in the classroom. Hopefully it's better than the bar.”

Just then I see Adam waiting for me, and I also realize I was just talking about Adam who my mom doesn’t know about him yet and I’m not sure I am ready to tell her about him. I hold my finger up to Adam as to say one second, but he doesn’t wait he crashes into me making me squeal.

“What happened, is everything okay?” My Mom sounds worried. I laugh and hit Adam, then put my finger to his lips to tell him to be quiet.

“Sorry Mom, someone just scared me.” I look at Adam bug eyed. But he ignores me, kissing my neck.

“Where are you?”

“Just at a new friend's house, that’s all” Adam looks at me suspiciously.

“Friend or like FRIEND?”

“Mom really?”

“Sorry for asking. So this showcase, why don’t you want to audition?” I love how she can take a hint.

“I’m not sure my style is what they want, besides I’ll have more years to audition like I said they rarely take first years.” Adam gives me a weird look, I'm sure he is trying to figure out what I’m talking about.

“But can I let you go, my friend won’t stop looking at me and I'm feeling rude?”

“Of course, talk soon love you”

“Love you too momma, say hi to Dad for me.” I hang up and turn to Adam.

“Your friend eh? I sure hope your friends don’t kiss you like this.” Before I can speak or protest because I haven't brushed my teeth yet Adam’s mouth finds mine, parting my lips with his tongue, his hands find my ass lifting me up and walking me back towards his house. I pull away.

“Adam, where are you taking me?” He laughs and kisses my neck, nibbling at my ear while he answers, “Back to my bed, so we can restart today the right way.” Adam opens the door to the house without putting me down and walks straight to his rooms. I tuck my face into his neck so I don't have to see anyone. I can hear voices, I think someone just whistled, I wrap my body tighter around Adam and whisper.

“Please hurry up.” Adam just laughs. Once in his room he kicks the door shut and places me on the bed and takes a step back. I sit there and look up at him.

“Sorry.” I am now feeling embarrassed for a completely new reason.

“It’s been a long time since I got that drunk and went home with someone,” I admit.

“I’m not going to stop liking you because of one stupid night,” Adam tells me, but the look in his eyes is what sells me, he looks like a lion locking eyes with its prey. It gives me chills. Yet I can't stop myself from looking him up and down, but my eyes get stuck on the bulge in his pants. I try to clear my throat.

“Uh Adam,” I don’t have anything else to say. I try to swallow anticipating what is to come. Adam steps forward, leaning towards me, making me lean back slightly. Our lips meet again, both of us hungry for each other. I moan, Adam releases a small growl from his throat.

“Do you even know what you do to me?” Adam says as he bucks his pelvis into me and I can feel how hard he is.

I slide my arms around his neck pulling him flush with my body as I lay back on the bed, wrapping my legs around his waist to feel him through my clothes. Grinding my already wet pussy against his shaft. Adam groans my name. He makes quick work to pull my skirt down and pull his cock out, he inserts it into me releasing his breath I didn’t know he was holding. I scream out in pleasure. He repeatedly pounds me until I can’t hold on anymore.

“Yes cum for me Molly, Scream my name.” At the sound of his words, I do just that, melting into his bed as he pounds me one final time and releases his load. He leans over me trying to catch his breath as I flutter kisses all over his face. He slowly removes himself and I pull up my skirt. Sitting up Adam jumps on the bed to lay down pulling me with him. He whispers, “Now isn’t that a better way to start your day than running away.” I cover my face embarrassed all over again. Adam pulls one finger away to peek in at me.

“I’m joking around, … kind of.”

I shake my head “You're a jerk,” I say laughing.

“Yes you're right I shouldn’t have left. But I still want to go home, shower, sleep, and eat.” Adam raises his eyebrows at me, “Shower?” He says it like a question. I shake my head again.

“Alone for once, I do have plans with Lacey later, remember.”

“Yeah yeah that’s later, I’ll drop you off soon but first,” He starts tickling me.

I can’t get away and I can’t stop laughing. A short time later Adam drops me off at my dorm and I check my phone as I get into my room. I have 3 new messages, Lacey: Still on for tonight, just us? Get ready at your dorm? Where do you want to go?

Me: Yes, still on, yes just us, my place at 8, you choose, I want to dance, but not so many drinks. I’m going for a nap.

I wake up and I am starving. I feel so much better, but I need to eat if I am going to party again tonight. I crawl out of bed, go grab some dinner in the lounge. They don’t serve the best food here, but it will do, I get a salad with a bowl of fruit and a cookie. I turn around, mine as well eat in here, I’m looking for somewhere to sit when I see some girls from the dance program staring at me, so I wave. I’m about to yell and take a picture. It lasts longer when two of them come over to me.

“Hey you’re Molly, right?” The blonde says.

“Yep, that's me,” I answer.

“I’m Carrie and this is Amanda.”

“Nice to meet you, I’m assuming you have something to say because we’ve been in school for weeks and you’ve never spoken to me until now.” I sound annoyed.

“Actually yeah, we saw you at the bar last night with um . . .” Carrie looks at Amanda like she is nervous or something so I finish her sentence.

“Adam and the guys from the basketball team, yep that was me.”

“Carrie wants to know if you and Adam are a thing or just friends.” Amanda blurts out.

“Sorry girls, my life isn’t any of your business, like I said you haven’t spoken to me until right now.” If looks could kill, I would be dead, but who are they to ask about my life, I don’t know you. They look at each other and turn to walk away and I can hear one of them say, “See I told you they aren’t a thing, just ask him to hang out.” Yes, bitches ask him to hang out, I’m terribly sorry but you will be oh so sad when you find out we are a thing. I hate girls. Well stuck up girls anyways, who are they to think they can just walk up to me and ask if I’m dating Adam. I start eating my dinner and can tell I’m angry eating my poor food. The longer I sit here the angrier I get. I decide tonight is all about me and Lacey of course.

Me: Hey girl, change of plans, I wanna party hard, what did you plan for tonight, so I know how to dress.

Lacey: What changed? Wait who cares, I’m in, let’s light up the city!! I heard the aquarium is having a glow in the dark rage, we can check it out. Open at 10 and closes at 4am.

That sounds perfect.

Me: sounds sick! Body paint and glow sticks?

Lacey: sounds amazing, I’ll grab some of both, but you’re the artsy one so I’m leaving the painting to you. See ya in a bit This is going to be epic, I for real can’t wait. My phone beeps again but it’s not Lacey it’s Adam.

Adam: Hey Babe, just wanted to text you to be safe tonight. Try not to pass out on any benches without me around. Lol, just kidding. Have fun!

Me: Thanks, and I’ll try my best but I make no promises. LOL I hope you have a good night too. I’ll call you tomorrow when I wake up, which could be sometime in the afternoon.

Okay, back to my room to find something to wear. I head over to the closet to start looking through my clothes when my door opens.

“Hey Hoe, who’s ready to party?” Lacey hollers as she lets herself in.

“Yo what are you wearing tonight?” I ask Lacey shows me her outfit, it’s perfect for a glow in the dark party. White jean shorts that are ripped with a white tank top that could almost be lingerie.

“I’m going to be glowing from all areas. What about you?” she replies.

“White pants and I are not friends,” I tell her I go back to my closet, looking and looking.

I don’t know what I am going to wear. I know what pants I want to wear so I go to my drawer and grab them. A pair of acid washed jeans that have rips all over, as I put them on, I remember I have a perfect top from an 80’s party. It’s a florescent green fishnet top with a white lace bra under it.

“Ah yeah, Molly that looks awesome, I brought body paint, what’s the plan oh crafty one?” Lacey bows as if I’m a god or something and we laugh. But seriously. Hmm what to do? I look at Lace to see what I can do with her.

“How are you going to wear your hair?” I ask.

“Half up why?” She answers.

“I was thinking of putting paint in our hair and on our face and arms?” I suggest.

“Have at it.” She tells me.

I crank the music on while we get ready and Lacey pours drinks. I decided to braid my hair and choose a few different colors to paint the strands. Lacey’s hair I decide to paint the tips with all random colors. We draw tribal bands on our arms and use the paint as eyeshadow and lipstick. I blend yellow, green and blue on my eyes and pink on my lips. I blend my eyes off my eyelids into my face and across my nose. Then I do dots above my eyebrows and up the middle of my forehead all in white.

“Crap Molly, that looks awesome, kay can you do mine?”

“Thanks yeah pick your colors. I’m going to do yours a bit differently though.” I tell her.

Lacey picked pink, red and orange. I put them on 3 fingers and wiped it across her face from one corner on the top down to the opposite side. Orange lips, yellow dots above one eyebrow and under the other eye. Then in white I draw 2 lines out from each eye towards her hair. We bust open the glow bracelets and I make a belt in my jean loops. Lacey puts them on her ankles and neck. We’re finally ready to hit the town. We put on our white sneakers and hit the street to walk downtown. Time for a selfie. Holy crap this place is packed already, we finally get in and it's amazing there are so many different areas each one playing different music and we are glowing like crazy.

“I want hip hop; are you cool with that?” I ask.

“You’re the dancer lead the way.” She answers.

Lacey and I are having a great time, drinks are amazing, they even glow, the music is awesome, we are dancing up a storm. It feels like we are the only ones on the dance floor. But we’re not, it becomes clear when some guy tries to dance with me, at first it is cool, innocent but now he is trying more than just dancing. I go to walk off the dance floor and he grabs my ass. I turn around to slap his face, but he grabs my wrist.

“Come on baby you don’t dress like that and expect not to be groped.” So naturally I grab his dick with my free hand as he screams.

“Oh, come on baby, don’t act like a dick and not expect to have your dick grabbed.” He let’s go off my wrist.

“Learn some respect asshole.” I let go and walk away.

“Molly what was that?” Lacey asks.

“I don’t know, I saw it in a movie once, but it felt good,” I reply.

“Ready to get your cowgirl on, let’s hit the country sections.” Suggests Lacey.

“You know it, maybe some skills from my grandma will come out,” I answer. As we walk to the country section, I swear I just saw Adam. He was headed outside to the patio. I grab Lacey’s hand and nod.

“I’m going to get some air; you want to come?”

“I saw him too; you go look I’ll be okay I have a new move to use on any assholes.” Lacey laughs and walks away waving.

I turn towards the patio, making my way through the crowd. I’m not sure what I’ll say. It is him, he’s standing with a crowd of people. As I make my way to the outdoor bar, I notice Carri and Amanda are amongst the crowd. Wow bitches waste no time. I get my drink and sit on a picnic table top, just watching. Oh, goodie the girls see me, I wave, and they are suddenly all over Adam. Yet he pulls away and says something to them, wow double dirty looks, if looks could kill, I’d be dead a second time. I laugh at them, my turn ladies. I walk over behind Adam and wrap my arms around his chest.

“Want to dance hunk?” Adam grabs my hands, removes them.

“Sorry I’ve got a girl,” He turns around, “friend,” with a big smile, “but I’m sure she won’t mind.” He pulls me in close to him staring in my eyes, I wrap my arms around his neck, jump, Adam catches me and I wrap my legs around his waist.

With a huge smile I lean in and kiss him passionately, when we pull away I hug him once more so I can see Carri and Amanda, smirk and wave at them. Oh man, they look pissed. Adam puts me on the ground with the biggest smile ever.

“Adam, what are you doing here?”

“Some of the guys invited girls who picked this place. Damn though I’m glad we came now you look hot.”

“Thanks, I know right?” I say spinning in a circle so he can get a full view of how amazing I look. I continue.

“Well I won’t keep you just wanting to shew the trash away.” I kiss him again and walk away.

“Hold on their girlfriend, where do you think you’re going?” Adam grabs my waist and pulls me back to him.

“To find Lacey of course,” I say as if it was obvious.

“Yeah now that I’ve seen how hot you look, I’m not sure I want to let you leave. Who’s going to keep the trash away from you?” Just as Adam finishes talking, I can hear someone calling my name, I look around, as the voice gets closer, I recognise it’s Lacey.

“MOLLY WHERE YOU AT?” I laugh because she is so loud and doesn’t care one bit.

“Lace I’m over here.” I stand on the picnic table so she can see me. Adam picks me up to take me off the table, laughing as Lacey comes over.

“Sorry babe I just wanted to make sure it was actually Adam and you weren’t ripping off anymore dicks.” Adam looks at me and raises an eyebrow, clearly curious as to why Lacey would say that, I just smile and laugh, shrug my shoulders. Lacey however went into full blown storytelling mode. She re-enacts the entire scene, but just pretends to grab Adam’s junk. Adam looks at me, and I say nothing.

“I guess I don’t have to worry about the trash being taken out.” Lacey now looks confused, “What?” I shake my head, “Never mind, was the country section any good?”

“Yeah come teach me your Grandma moves,” Lacey says as she’s motioning to leave. Adam now looks confused too, and worried.

“Grandma moves?”

“It’s a long story you want to come watch and learn?” I ask as Lacey pulls me to come back inside, I pull Adam to come with us.

We get inside the country section, it’s in the middle of a song so we just dance like everyone else. Then they play boot scootin’ boogie, hell yeah! I see Lacey lean into Adam and say something, they both just stand there and look at me. I loop my thumbs into my belt loops, start line dancing like my Grandma taught me, some toe tapping, feet slapping, grapevine finishing with knocking boots. Of course I add my own flare each time. Next thing I know people are trying to copy me. This is awesome. I look at Adam who is just staring at me. They are now playing some Blake Shelton, I run over to the DJ booth and request Achy Breaky Heart, head back to Lacey and Adam who are not line dancing at all. I can’t wait for Adam to see me dance this one too. It’s one of my favorite dances and it’s an easy one I could teach him. I approach Adam and Lacey with a big smile, so proud of myself.

“What was that? It didn’t look like Grandma moves to me.” Laughing.

“Nah, my Grandma taught me how to line dance growing up.” As I am talking, I hear ‘any man of mine’ I jump in excitement, give Adam a peck on the cheek and grab Lacey’s arm, run onto the dance floor.

“You know this one, let's go!”

We do a whole lot of stomping our feet during this song. I’m so proud Lacey remembers some of the moves and then catches on right away. The song ends and we hear the DJ announce, “This next one is for our little line dancer out there. show us what you got girl.” I motion for Adam to come out on the dance floor, he shakes his head no, I pout and call him over again.

5, 6, 7, 8, Vine to the right, now vine back, backward, 2, 3, 4, heel, toe, heel, toe, scuff and turn and repeat and we continue in a square repeatedly until the song is over. Again I add in more shimmy and shakes. Adam came over, he is giving it a solid try and is adorable, but he sucks. The song ends and the DJ says, “Give it up for our cowgirl in the house.”

Everyone cheers and I am turning red. Good thing you can’t see it in black light. Adam gives me a big hug.

“So, Adam, am I losing my partner in crime now?” Lacey asks, I look at Adam who is holding me from behind now and is kissing my neck, he doesn’t answer Lacey, so I do.

“Nope I came here with you babe and I’m on leave with you.” I turn around to look at Adam, who looks a little sad now, “Are you going to find the boys now? If the trash is still hanging around, stay away from them, please.” Adam places his forehead on mine.

“I am yours and only yours, find me when you’re ready to leave.”

“You’re really okay with this?” I am surprised how easy he is letting me leave with Lacey.

“Well no but you wanted a night out with your friend, and I didn’t know you and Lacey would be here, so find me later.”

I kiss him and run off with Lacey to the bar, grab drinks and go to this room they call the paint room. It’s amazing, there are giant drums with paint in them, when you hit the drum paint sprays all over. We spend some time banging on the drums until I feel like I am covered in paint. I look at Lacey. She is also covered in paint. I get some random person to take our picture as we laugh. We got our phones back and I want to dance again. I have no idea what time it is, but I feel like they are going to shut down soon.

“Lace, let's go dancing again now that we are going to glow even more.”

I grab her hand and head for the room we haven’t been in yet. When we enter the room, the ceiling is a huge tank, it’s a bit creepy as there are sharks in the tank and their eyes glow. The music in this room reminds me of high school and the way people are standing around the outer rim of the room. It’s kind of weird but Lacey and I were never ones to follow the crowd so of course the two of us go right in the middle of the room and start dancing. It’s not the good songs from school dances but it’s alright. Of course, the girls in the room are staring at us like they wish they were us, and the guys in the room are looking at us like we are a piece of meat. Some random guys join us on the dance floor being idiots with us having fun dancing all around. The DJ then starts to play a bump grind type of song, Lacey and I start dancing with each other, I stop paying attention to what the guys are doing because I don’t really care, but apparently something happened, I look behind me to see a full-on fight break out. Like a real fist fight. I grab Lacey as we back up to watch. Oh my god IT’S ADAM.

“ADAM STOP.”

I run over to pull him off or try to pull him off this guy anyways. I’m screaming his name as I grab at his arm, he just pulls his arm out of mine. And starts punching this guy again.

“ADAM PLEASE STOP.”

Adam looks at me, he looks freaking pissed, what is he doing. He looks back at the guy and then lets him go. I back up and turn around to Lacey, shaking my head, what the hell is happening right now. Adam walks over to us, grabs my hand, storms off pulling me behind him toward the front door, I rip my hand back and stop, Adam stops and turns around to face me.

“We’re leaving.”

“Go ahead, leave, I’m staying.” I cross my arms and take a step back.

“Like hell you are, let’s go.” Adam moves towards and reaches for my arm, but I stand my ground and yell.

“NO, I came here with Lacey, I’m not leaving her here alone.” Adam looks behind me then back at me before replying.

“She’s not, she’s with Justin and Steve and the rest of the people I came with. She’ll be fine, you however might not be.”

“What the hell is wrong with you?” I am confused and pissed that he would fight someone at the bar, and then try to make me leave.

“Me? I’m not the one dancing with other guys,” he yells back.

“Well I would be concerned if you were dancing with guys.” I can't help but poke fun. Plus why is he so mad I wasn't even paying attention to them.

“YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN MOLLY.”

“Adam it was harmless and if it was anything more you know I can handle myself.” I step towards him now as I notice we are starting to draw a crowd.

“I don’t like other guys on what’s mine.” The look in his eyes shows me he is sincerely upset by someone else touching me. It's a little possessive but I don't think he means it's like that. I put my arms around Adam’s neck, kiss him on the cheek, smile at him, kiss him on the other cheek, smile at him again, then kiss him on the lips.

“Adam, you're very cute when you’re jealous. I love that you’ll come to my rescue, but next time come to it when I need it. I told you I’m yours, I wasn’t even paying attention to them I was just dancing.” I say in a sincere voice.

“Molly you don’t know how guys think it wasn’t harmless in their heads, they had a motive.” he looks like he is in pain saying this to me.

“Molly, are you okay?” I hear Lacey ask from behind me. I turn around, everyone is standing there with Lacey, all staring at us. It’s a little embarrassing, I look at Lacey and roll my eyes.

“Yeah, I’m good, just ready to go I guess, you good?” I motion to her hand which is holding one of Adam’s friends’ hands. I give her this look to say I see what’s going on. She smiles and replies, “Yep let’s blow this popsicle stand” Adam wraps his arm around my shoulder, kisses the side of my head, whispers in my ear.

“You need a shower, want to come back to my house? Maybe this time stay for breakfast?” Blushing as per normal I say nothing. We get in a cab just the two of us, as Adam gives the address, I roll down the window and blow Lacey a kiss then yell, “Be safe bitch, treat my girl right or I’ll find you.” The cab starts to drive away, and Adam pulls me back to him. I take his hand and look at it.

“How’s your hand?” I ask.

“Fine, the guy's face isn’t though.” He replies, pulling his hand back.

“Tough guy eh? I didn’t know you were a fighter.” I giggle.

“I’m not normally, but when I saw him all up on you, I snapped.” He pulled me closer.

“You know you have nothing to worry about, right?” I softly tell him.

“No, you’ve been a little weird today.” He looks down at me.

“Yeah I know, I’m sorry I was embarrassed. Like I said, it's been a while since I’ve dated anyone and this between us scares me a little.” I decide to be honest with him about this.

“Why?” he asks. Thank god we arrive at his house just in time. I hop out of the cab; Adam pays and joins me on the sidewalk. Takes my hand and brings me to the porch. We sit on the steps before going into the house.

“What are you so scared of?” He didn't drop it like I thought. What should I say? the last guy I loved died, when I met him, I had the same feeling I have for you. I can’t do that pain again; I stare at my hands and say nothing.

“Molly talk to me, please.” Adam quietly asks as he pulls me to sit on the porch.

“Well I like you a lot, and I know it’s only been a week since we’ve been hanging out or whatever but I felt this way once before and it didn’t end well.”

“Well I’m sorry for whatever happened in the past, but I won’t hurt you. And I too have feelings and want to see where they lead.” I lean into Adam, I can’t help but smile.

“Let’s go wash the paint off you,” Adam says with a sly smile.

We head to the bathroom, Adam for once is so gentle, he doesn’t try anything, I get undressed, Adam starts the shower, I climb in the water and just stand there. Adam climbs in the shower with a washcloth, he very gently washes the paint off my body. I wash him off too. He gets out of the shower to leave me to wash my hair. I stand there in the shower with the water hitting my face and I start to cry. How am I lucky enough to find 2 amazing humans in one lifetime? As much as I want to tell Adam about Jeremy I don’t know how or what to say. I thought Adam had left the bathroom but then I could hear him banging around. I turn off the water and he hands me the towel into the shower then leaves I hear the door shut I walk out and see a note.

Molly, Your toothbrush. Love Adam Is he trying to make me cry more? He's so sweet I brush my teeth and head to his room.

“Thanks for the toothbrush.”

“We’ll keep it here for you for all your sleepovers. Do you want a tee and some boxers to sleep in?” Adam asks me.

“Sure thanks” I answer. I get dressed and he doesn’t touch me or say a word. Adam is lying in bed, I put the towel in the hamper and climb into bed. Adam holds me and whispers “I’ll never hurt you.” As I cry myself to sleep Adam holds me close to him.

I wake up to Adam staring at me, as I open my eyes and look at him he greets me, “Morning” I smile back at him and copy his words.

“Morning” I snuggle into him with my head on his chest. I rub his chest and stomach while I ask, “How’s your hand this morning killer?”

“Honestly sore” Adam smiles and I laugh, “Do you want me to get some ice?”

“Not yet, I’ll survive a bit longer.” He answers, I pull his hand to look at it.

“Jesus Adam, it’s swollen, did you break a bone?”

“Not in my hand, maybe buddy’s face,” Adam replies in a smug cocky voice. I get out of bed and head to the door, asking, “Is there ice in the freezer?” Without realizing I am going to get some if there is any, Adam answers, “I think so.” I head to where I think the kitchen is, nope it’s the living room and a roommate is sitting in there. Awkwardly I ask him, “Hi, where is the kitchen?” He is kind enough to say, “Keep coming, it's just past the doorway.”

“Thanks, I’m Molly by the way,” I tell him.

“Hey, yeah I know, Adam talks about you all the time, I’m Mike.” He gives me a nod instead of a handshake. Blushing, I put my head down, run past him into the kitchen. I find the fridge, open the freezer, perfect. They have ice. I start looking for a bowl.

“Can I help you?” I jump in startlement, great there is someone else awake, I turn around to see another roommate standing there. I answer him, “Yes, I’m looking for a big bowl for Adam.”

“You must be Molly, nice to meet you, I'm Tyler.” Why do they all know who I am? Tyler comes into the kitchen, opens a cupboard, and hands me the largest bowl he can find, I turn back to the freezer and fill the bowl with ice. Looking at me strangely he says, “Should I even ask?” Confused, I look at Tyler, he points to the bowl of ice.

“Oh, Adam punched a guy and might of broken his hand,” I tell Tyler, to which he asks, “He did what? Why?” I reply.

“Well trying to be a hero, I think buddy picked the wrong girl to dance with.” Wide-eyed Tyler tells me, “He’s never hit anyone before, he must really like you.”

“I hope so, otherwise one of us is an idiot, anyways thanks for the help,” I say.

I take the large bowl of ice and walk back into the living room where there is now another roommate, there are so many guys that live here. I smile and wave, run past them, and back down the hallway to Adam’s room. Adam is sitting up in his bed when I run into his room. He looks concerned. He asks, “What took so long?”

“Oh, just meeting the house of guys Mike helped me find the kitchen, Tyler found me a bowl, and someone else whose name I didn't get but they all know my name,” I reply, I walk over, sit on the bed, take his swollen hand, Adam flinches. I put the bowl in his lap.

“Here slowly put your hand on the ice,” I suggest.

“Ouch oh ummm.” He cries.

“Ummm, so you talk about me a lot, like all the time and you really like me and this was your first fight.” I laugh.

“I'm going to kill them, what did they tell you?” Asks Adam.

“Oh, not much, just that you're obsessed with me, you want me, you need me, you love me, you want to marry me.” I look up at Adam. He looks well shocked, embarrassed and like he might pass out. I laugh but he doesn’t, oh poor boy looks terrified. I don’t know why though; I find it endearing that he talks about me to his room mates.

“Adam relax I'm joking they didn't say anything just you talk about me, so they figured I am me.” I smile.

“Sorry they’re idiots just ignore them they don't know anything,” Adam says.

“Adam, are you blushing?” I ask.

“Can we change the subject? Are you hungry? I'll go make some toast.” He gets up, I stand up too and push him back down on the bed and straddle him, he needs to ice his swollen hand.

“You will sit with your hand on the ice if you want toast, I will go make you some,” I demand.

“Yeah no way I don't trust my roommate to not tell you lies let's go make toast together and I'll just sit there and ice my hand.” He suggests.

“OK let's go eat breakfast.” I agree.

We go back out to the living room, this time there are even more guys in the living room. Adam stops, the roommate starts chirping him ‘she exists, so you didn't imagine her, tough guy eh? Atta boys protect what's yours’ they just keep going on and on. I stand there holding Adam’s bowl of ice, I know my face is red, this is so awkward I wish I wasn’t out here right now.

"Molly these are my roommates some of them you already met, Mike, Tyler, Rick, Ryan, and Evan” Adam motions to each guy as he says their name.

“Hi guys, yes I'm real and I'm also really hungry, excuse me” I nod.

Thank goodness I have an escape now. I walk into the kitchen, put the bowl of ice on the counter, and hop up on it myself. I don't want to be with the roommates any longer. I can hear some of what they're saying, boys will always be boys, asking about the fight, talking about me. I can’t take it anymore. I holler into the living room, “Guys I can hear you and I'd watch what you say, I saw the boy in action last night.”

“She’s feisty.” One of the roommates says. Adam walks into the kitchen with a huge smile on his face, laughing. He walks right over to me sitting on the counter, I just shake my head and smile. Hop off the counter, kiss him on the cheek.

“Where’s your bread?” I ask.
