Chapter 132: CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO

VIVIAN’S POV

Alpha Logan did keep to his promise of providing Miles and I with everything that I needed. The maids that they had sent could barely look at me in the eye. But I didn’t forget even one of them. Lydia, and the rest. I could never forget their faces and the stress that they made me go through.

At least I was allowed to work from home. My assistant was giving me all the information that I had asked of her, but I was still the one handling the main things. The meetings and all. I was working while Amelia sneaked in, playing with Miles to keep him from screaming ‘Mama’ in the background. She was being and angel.

She was so discreet about everything that she was doing. While I was stuck in the room, I was getting information on everything that I needed. My private investigator was getting some of the information that I needed, and promised to get back to me. I knew that I wasn’t just going to wait around for a long time. It wasn’t going to be long before I started doing my researches myself. There was no way that there wasn’t going to be some piece of information laying around the palace. Not just about Alpha Logan, but about Amelia and my birth as well.

I didn’t want to think about the time when Alpha Logan took over my pack. This was practically my pack. I was a princess here. But he somehow managed to turn me into a slave. I was thankful that I was able to escape from everything. I was thankful for my father.

I set my laptop down on the table, and adjusted Miles’ clothes. He had been sleeping all afternoon. I looked up at Amelia, who looked like she had been craving my attention all afternoon.

“Did something happen?” I asked, and she nodded.

“I can't place what’s going on, but something is definitely wrong.”

“How?” I asked, sitting up this time.

“There seems to be some kind of war going on even before we got here,” she whispered, making me frown.

“Between who? The only two packs available are Logan’s and Derek’s.”

“And Derek can't handle his because he can't even fucking stand.” There was a way she said it that made me look up at her. She wanted me to go and see Derek. But to me, it wasn’t even worth it. what was I going to say to him when I saw him? The only thing I would have personally wanted to do was slap him. For sending me away. For not trusting me.

I sighed. “Amelia, if you are trying to get me to see him, I have to tell you. You are wasting your time.”

She exhaled. “Can Miles at least meet his father?”

I looked up at her, and I saw her recoil. I felt bad. I didn’t know if I wanted to see him. Maybe I was supposed to give it a chance. There was no harm in trying right?

I finally sighed. I felt like I was already giving in to her. But was it worth it? “Fine,” I told her. If we get done with this, then I’ll go see him.”

A huge smile spread across her face. “Perfect, because we will get it done.” She was right, and that was what I was scared of.

A knock suddenly came at the door, and she looked up at me in fear. I had no idea how she hadn’t gotten caught yet. I didn’t know where she told them that she was spending the most of her day. But as long as it worked for the both of us, I didn’t have a problem with it. I was about to ask her when I looked at the door one more time. As I looked back at her, I only met the empty chair that she was sitting in, with an open window. I laughed, and shook my head.

The knock on the door was becoming more persistent. I walked over to it carefully. I opened it, and Alpha Logan walked in.

“What took you that long?” he asked, and I didn’t answer him. I only moved to the side, letting him walk inside. I knew that they were going to suspect me if I didn’t do that. And thankfully, Amelia was out of the room. He looked around, looking for anything that would make him suspect me.

He looked at Miles immediately. I knew that he was practically obsessed with the child. Even if he never said it, or hadn’t just said it yet.

I didn’t know what to expect from a man like Alpha Logan. He was a two sided person. He was more or less a double edged sword.

“What’s his name?” he asked, looking at Miles. I didn’t know what to think at that point. Was it going to be of any use lying right now? I didn’t know if it was going to save my child if his own grandfather didn’t recognize him.

“Miles.” I ended up whispering. It was useless lying. Miles would forever be traced to Derek. He was a splitting image of him. Only younger.

I couldn’t get the thought out of my head that if Mark had a child, Alpha Logan would be paying even more attention to him. But I wasn’t hurt. I didn’t even want Miles to be associated with any of them. He was too perfect and innocent to be involved in any of their bullshit.

“Won't you let Derek see the child?” he asked, and I tried to stop myself from laughing. So Alpha Logan could sound that calm.

“He isn’t Derek’s child,” I said, trying not to wake Miles up. Alpha Logan frowned immediately. “He is my child alone.”

His lips spread into a smug smile. “You can try to deceive yourself as much as you want.”

“Let me and my child go. We want to head back to where we came from.”

“Not until I have confirmed what I came to check,” he said, and I frowned. What did he mean by that? What was he trying to confirm?

“There’s nothing I’m hiding. So now, let me go.”

To be honest, I wanted to be at the pack for a little longer. But I didn’t want to have him suspecting me.

“We shall see. Until then, your mother wants to see you,” he said, and I froze.
