Chapter 59

*****Axel's POV*****

I lay in bed knowing that our plan was fool proof. Yet I still couldn't shake the unnerving feeling that crept up in me. Why did something feel off?

I went to the bathroom for what felt like the hundredth time, deciding that I was just overly restless at this point.

I figured that I probably felt this way since I hadn't been out for a run in so long... that's got to be it! My wolf is pacing because he’s been stuck inside for too long!

I glance at my doll beside me, as she lays peacefully hugging the pillow. She was fast asleep and rightfully so after the long days we had been facing here...

She won't even know I'm gone if I go for a quick run. There is two guards outside so she will be fine…

*****Dani's POV******

"Mmm Axel stop..." I grumble, swatting the rough hands away as he stroked my cheek.

I grumble and roll over, enjoying the comfort of his side of the bed… before wondering why he wasn't actually in it... why was he stood over at my side like some creep?

Probably just went to the bathroom stop overthinking...

I allow myself to fall back asleep, before feeling Axels hands suddenly scoop under my body - hauling me out of the bed.

"Axel... where are we going?" I grumble again, deciding to cuddle into his chest - inhaling a dark scent of coal in the process.

"Why do you smell like..." I peak up, my heart ripping into my throat as I see a random guy carrying me into another room.

"Who the hell are y-?!" My words are suddenly muffled by a dirty cloth being shoved into my mouth - almost making me gag at the intrusion.

I thrashed around, doing my best at kicking and punching him but getting nowhere as the man just sniggered at my weak attempt.

I even attempted to take the cloth out of my mouth in order to scream, but only met the floor in the process as he dropped me onto the hard wood.

I looked up, tears brimming my eyes with fear, and before I could make another move - he cocked his head briefly, before kicking me in the head and knocking me unconscious...

*****Axel's POV******

The run felt amazing as the thundering rain outside soaked my thick fur. It was definitely what I needed...

I stopped by the lake, deciding to get a drink and to listen to my surroundings more closely - hearing nothing other than my own guards in the distance talking about random shit.

I should probably head back before Dani wakes and realises that I am gone.

I spring back into action, my paws hitting the ground in a heartbeat rhythm as I run and enjoy the last bits of the weather as the rain begins to slow down.

I was glad that Saul was the Alpha now. It just made sense for this pack and for him. Now I just needed to find my niece and the rest of the kids he's taken... but my plan for tomorrow couldn't be faulted.

I continued on, passing through the village and taking in the work that my builders had started on the houses so far. They were the best at their jobs by a landslide...

I approached the pack house, hearing sudden screams coming from the inside as I slowed down and approached with caution in order to strain my ears to listen...

I release a heavy breath that the screaming noise didn't seem to be coming from Dani, before I instantly shifted back and ran inside.

"Alpha where have you been?! We tried to contact you!" I met Saul, Grey, Nolan and the girls by the front door - all except my girl.

My heart sank in that very moment, as they stared into my eyes with nothing other than pity.

"What the fuck happened?! Where is Dani?!" I begin on a rage, storming up the steps and along the hallways followed closely by the others.

Belle and Lily continued to sob, as Nolan and Grey dragged them along and tried to calm them both as best they could.

I approached our room - finding two of the outside guards on the floor unconscious with Julian as he ran his medical checks.

My blood flushes, as I storm my way into the room - unable to breathe or think straight as I stare at the empty bed.

"WHERE IS SHE?!" I roar at the top of my lungs, earning a gasp from Ivanna who I hadn't even noticed was in the room yet.

"Axel... we will find her..." Grey approaches first, earning a heavy shove in return as I send him staggering back towards the door.

I was going to rip this fucking pack apart if any of them had a hand in this!

"Ivanna?!" I snap at her expectantly, as her gentle eyes widen.

"M-May... may we speak in the other room... sir?" Ivanna shakes out the sentence, as I grit my teeth and nod briefly, using every strength in me not to strangle the old woman and force her to tell me what she knows right now.

The others knowingly step aside, as I rage down the hallway, deciding to punch a few holes in the wall as I pass - looking for a quick relief for how I was feeling.

Nothing could fix it, I felt like my heart was being stabbed!

I enter the witches room, turning and pacing impatiently as I wait for her to catch up.

She soon does, closing the door, before approaching me steadily. My breathing increases warningly, unsure of what the fuck she was getting so close to me for, before she quickly reaches up - plucking a hair from my head and scurrying back.

"Don't waste my fucking time!" I roar, throwing the stool towards the door - cracking it.

"I'm... sorry sir... I needed to gather your hair when you were enraged with different emotions... in order for this to work!" She pleads with me, before adding it to the cauldron along with other weird shit.

I fold my arms in order to oppress the shaking, as I watch her begin to mumble chants from her book.

For her sake this better fucking work!

She suddenly gasps, hunching forward and over the pot, before her eyes roll back and she reaches out to grab me.

I instinctively take her hand, before we both drop to our knees - allowing a vision to overcome our minds.

It was him...

"Axel has overrun our main pack... we need to move the children somewhere that he won't expect to find them before he finds this base... we need them alive until Sunday!" - Halliday says.

"Do you think I’m fucking stupid?! I know my own brother! He isn't smart! I will quite simply go and kidnap his little angel of a mate and when he comes here to find her, the children can be relocated to the Shadow pack dungeons! He will be too busy looking for her that he won't care about them and nobody will notice us moving them either!" - Cassio angrily replies, storming around what looks like a cabin.

"Yes true... what about yours though?" - Halliday chucks back the remnants of a beer and asks.

"She's got the same fate coming as the rest of the damn children! She means nothing to me she's not mine!" - Cassio snaps back, slamming his hands on a table.

"So we take them to Shadow pack, keep them there until Sunday, then our superior race will begin?" - Halliday confirms their plan as Cassio only nods.

"You're sure we have enough children now? For the spell to work?" - Halliday adds, earning another nod.

"More than enough... I'll take his mate tonight and when he comes here looking for her tomorrow, I'll kill him. It's been a long fucking waiting game anyway and after Sunday... I'll take my rightful place in the kingdom!" - Cassio smiles wickedly...

I inhale sharply, releasing Ivannas hands, as we both pant on the floor - overwhelmed by her spell.

"Son of a bitch!" I hit the floor hard, before mind-linking Grey, Nolan and Saul for an emergency meeting.

This ends right fucking now!
