Chapter 55

*****Belle's POV*****

"He's an ass!" I slam my hands on the table in a rage, watching as Dani and Lily get comfy in the seats opposite me.

"I for sure thought there was a romance blossoming with you two no?" Dani states the obvious as I hide my face in my hands.

This was so shameful. What was I even doing?!

"I'm an idiot." I grumble, removing my hands from my face to look at my two friends.

"What's wrong? You can tell us…” Lily encourages softly, as I nod and think for a moment.

"I could meet my mate at any moment right? Who knows I could even meet him today! But please tell me why I'm dreading meeting him now?!" I try my best to explain how I was feeling, earning a nod from Dani and a confused look from Lily.

"I think I like Grey... there I said it! I won't say it again!" I dramatically state, groaning in the process before hiding my face again.

"That's not a bad thing Belle... you can't help who you fall in love with sometimes! I understand the worry though because if one of you meet your mate then it could break the others heart..." Dani nods in understanding as I look at her.

My eyes water slightly from her words, knowing all too well that the only heart that could be broken in this scenario could be Grey's! For the second damn time might I add!

"It's not like that..." I attempt to say, as Lily reaches out to grab my hand in comfort.

"You can tell us don't worry! You need to get it out." Dani smiles softly as I nod and allow for a single tear to fall.

"Grey already met his mate and she was with someone else... she had kids too... then rejected him… so now he's free to go with anyone he wants... and I don't want to end up breaking his heart for a second time." I inform them, as they nod and attempt to follow my story as best they can.

"I understand... is there any way at all to sort of find out where your mate is? If you had clarification then you could decide what you want from there?" Lily asks innocently, not knowing fully what's possible in this world yet.

"No that's the only thing we can't find out through witches or anything... it sucks!" I grumble, irritated by the situation.

"What if I wait to meet my mate and never do? Then Grey gets with someone else and I miss my chance at love! There's so many 'what ifs' I'm stuck on what to do!" I explain.

"Well I say, all you can do is live in the moment Belle! If you like Grey then pursue it and see what happens! You can't spend your life waiting either! You could also wait until we visit the rest of the packs and If you don't find him by then, you know what to do from there!" Dani speaks up, as I nod at her opinion.

"I guess you're right..." I shrug, as she offers me a smile.

"You both looked pissed off as hell earlier though... what was that about?" Lily questions, causing me to snort slightly now at how immature we were acting.

"Well that's another damn story! The idiot snuck into my room last night and slept in my bed with me!" I state, as Dani slaps her hand over her mouth in disbelief and Lily’s eyes go wide.

A short silence falls in the room before the three of us begin to roar with laughter at the situation.

"No you don't understand it wasn’t like that! I was so tired that I just let him cuddle me! Then this morning I woke up and flipped the fuck out! I told him he was an idiot and that whatever we had was done! I also told him that I wasn't his and that he better back off... God I said some awful shit to him come to think of it but he also said his fair share to me... he even called me a slutty tease at one point in the argument! Hence why I was flirting with those guys!" I rant, as the girls continue to laugh at my unbelievable situation.

"I feel bad now though... I actually liked having him there which is why I freaked out so much... I'm scared of my own feelings I guess." I shrug with a sigh.

"So that was why you were flirting with those guys?! You were making him jealous!" Dani questions with another laugh as I roll my eyes and laugh too.

"I mean... yeah... he was absolutely furious wasn't he! That was cruel of me I should probably apologise for that..." I cringe at how pathetic I had been, as the two of them continue to laugh at me.

"I'm sure he will forgive you Belle and it looks to me that you are both meant to be! But what about Nolan?" Lily suddenly questions the obvious with Grey being one of my own brothers best friends...

"What about me?" We all instantly pale as none other than Nolan himself enters the kitchen, shirtless and sweaty, causing me to roll my eyes at him.

I notice Lily staring at him hungrily, which causes me to laugh. Thats just damn disgusting!

"Oh.. uh… we were just talking about... girl things... you know... giving Lily some advice..." Dani rambles, as Lily nods beside her in agreement causing me to bite back a laugh.

Nolan studies the three of us briefly, before nodding and grabbing a water from the fridge.

“Guess I wouldn’t want to know that shit…” Nolan mumbles to himself as I fight back another laugh.

I'm just thankful he wasn't the brightest bulb in the packet...

"Having fun out there?" Lily asks him, diverting the conversation fully as he nods and kisses her briefly.

"Yeah the men here are actually doing ok for their first intense training session. We stop for a break soon then we are doing a second session tonight." He explains, knowing his stuff when it comes to fitness and fighting.

"How fun." I roll my eyes.

"That's why you can't run for shit mush face." He grumbles, sending me a glare as Dani and Lily grit their teeth in amusement.

Did this bitch seriously just call me mush face? For real? Thanks Nolan age five.

"Nolan piss off... don't you have more push ups to do? You look like a big sweaty predator standing behind poor Lily like that! Get out of here!" I remark, causing both Lily and Dani to laugh out loud now.

"You two are ridiculous!" Dani slaps the table laughing, as we continue to glare at one another.

"Twin love!" Lily adds, as they both continue to giggle like hyenas.

"Have fun ladies." He offers a smile to them both, before sending me the middle finger as he walks out.

"He was put on this world to annoy me I swear!" I groan once he's gone, as we all laugh now.

"That was a close one!" Lily adds, referring to our conversation from before as we nod in agreement.

I can't stand the thought of Nolan finding out about Grey and I. Not right now at least!

"Sorry girls am I interrupting? The Alpha told me to meet you here Dani..." The elderly woman from the pack meeting last night enters the kitchen as Dani smiles fondly at her.

"No not at all! Ivanna this is Belle and Lily, my two best friends! Girls, this is Ivanna - she's helping us out!" Dani stands to greet her whilst introducing us all as we smile and say our hello's.

"I'll meet up with you both later?" Dani states as we nod.

"I was thinking we could sit outside with some lemonade and watch the men train?" I offer the idea to Lily who laughs and agrees.

"Perfect!" She states, as Dani and Ivanna laugh and exit the room.

I felt slightly better after speaking to the girls - deciding that it might be best to visit the other packs first before calling off my mate hunt... however a part of me was praying that I never find him...
