Chapter 13: The "no" date with Hades Parker
Oh.
I remained silent after what he told me. He also remained without saying anything, my mind thinking of thousands of things and possibilities with that "it is shown", my whole face and my ears redder than a tomato, the worst thing is that I didn't have to react like that because he wasn't saying it to me, but, in my opinion... it was a subtle proposal.
«Don't flatter yourself, Nube; it's not a proposal; they're just... talking».
Damn, I had to stop deluding myself with him, I felt that I was giving myself the green lights to flirt and then the red ones not to do it for morality and ethics.
Who understands me?
And if I didn't understand myself, then it was already obvious that I was in complete internal chaos with the name of Hades Parker fluttering all over the place.
«You just have to calm down now.»
We arrived at the restaurant Hades had mentioned, a bit far from the university or the city. It was nice, country-style, with live music and decorations mainly made of wood. At least it had stopped raining, but the atmosphere was still cold.
As soon as we sat down at a table, Hades ordered the sea and land grill and a few glasses of wine; he wasn't going to lie; it bothered me a bit that he didn't let me order; he ordered like the imposing domain obsessive that he was, but after all, After all, he was the one who was going to pay and what he ordered was what I would have liked to eat, so I didn't care afterward.
I caressed my hands together on the table, trying to get warm. I looked up; Hades was staring at me. The fact that he was in front of me made me even more nervous.
I had nowhere to hide.
"Nice place," I commented to break the ice.
«Just calm down, Cloud; it's not even a date; they're just here to eat.»
"It's cozy," he said.
Once again, an awkward silence filled by the music from the venue made me uneasy as he looked at me; he seemed to be analyzing every part of my behavior.
"Hades," I said, unable to keep quiet, "can I ask you something?"
"Whatever you want," he said.
I took a breath, filling myself with courage. It was a question eating away at my head, but it was too personal.
Fuck it, it was now or never.
"Are you married?" I asked, feeling my cheeks tingle with shame. I had to get that doubt out of my mind; not even on his social networks or on Wikipedia did anything come out of his personal life, professional only.
I watched as one corner of his mouth turned up a bit, looking amused.
"No," he answered.
Uhm, no wife.
Suspicious.
Although he was a young man, from what he had read in the autobiography on the back cover of his book, Hades was 28 years old; he finished high school very young because he was a genius child; he started college at 15 and graduated from all his careers at 20 because he studied them at the same time; he had a perfect average.
That he was cute caught my attention, but that he was smart made my pulse race, pressure, tension, and everything in me.
"Children?" I kept asking.
"My books and knowledge; They are my children."
What?
Well, it sounded like me when asked about my boyfriend at family gatherings; I said my boyfriends were still locked in the books, and I was looking for a way to get them out.
"Ah, okay," I said, not knowing exactly what to answer to that; he sounded like an arrogant gentleman.
"I'm not that arrogant," Hades said, retaining his slight smile.
Could he read my mind?
"I don't read your mind," he continued, "I'm a very observant. I know I scare you."
Oh.
Well, now it scared me more because he seemed to guess everything I was thinking.
"I told you that in your office," I said, narrowing my eyes, remembering that moment when he started playing the piano and looked at me that intensely.
Hades leaned forward a little, and I found myself swallowing heavily when his eyes looked at my lips for half a second before looking back at my eyes.
«Oh, holy cows».
"Yeah. But I also know that you're very attracted to me," he said, lowering his voice an octave, making it sound deeper and as if my body was reacting to him, I felt my nipples harden against the fabric of my dress and not because of the cold it was doing in the place, but because I felt myself burning internally with a mixture of shame, desire and disbelief for what he was telling me; because he didn't lie.
Damn, bad day for not wearing a bra.
I secretly covered myself with my arm, but he widened his smile a little, I think he realized my body's reaction.
"Besides that," Hades continued, "the nervousness in your hands, your lips, the way you avoid my gaze, I know you want to know what I can do to you."
Now, my whole face must have been redder than a shrimp because It was what I thought was my dark and secret desire. Still, my morality made me feel scandalized by this conversation with my professor.
"Of what he would be capable of doing to me?" I repeated incredulously; suddenly, my throat felt parched.
He didn't flinch when he said:
"In sex."
I blinked a few times, my body hotter than Christmas lights from our conversation.
Wow, this man had no filter to talk about these things, but he was right; he kept thinking that he must know a lot about sex.
"I'm not going to..." I started to say, trying to save my dignity for a proper girl who wasn't going to take that step of sleeping with him, professor, but they interrupted me when the servers brought the food, and I shut up, leaving thousands of questions fluttering around for my mind
So he did want to sleep with me?
«Don't be silly; you started the topic of pleasure; he just exposed you.»
And the worst thing is that he was right; he wanted me to show what he meant about how hypnotism could give pleasure.
I should not have accepted this dinner.
When we finished eating, we went to his truck again. he helped me get in, and I put my hands between my legs, suddenly feeling too cold, my legs shaking, and my heart racing.
My inner lioness was a meek kitten who felt threatened by a huge dragon.
"You're nervous". Hades commented when he got on and started the engine.
"No," I refuted; he didn't say anything. After all, it wasn't a question; he knew he was because he knew how to read my body.
«Oh, holy cows, have mercy on me.»
"How's the infection going?" he asked suddenly.
Is that serious?
"Can you stop asking such uncomfortable questions?" I mumbled, leaning back in the seat; I wouldn't say I liked talking about my vagina or anything that reminded me of the incident in the office when I mistakenly undressed in front of him.
Hades raised an eyebrow in disbelief.
"It is not uncomfortable for me to talk about something natural, Nube." He said, "I'm a doctor."
Uh.
Sometimes, I forgot that it was normal for him to talk about infections or things in the body; it was his job.
"I do not have it already. I said after a moment."
"Perfect." He said, and I noticed some satisfaction on his face.
Well, Hades Parker, besides being a lawyer, doctor, engineer, and everything you can think of, was also weird.
I showed him my residence address, and he parked in front, turning off the car; I looked at him, confused.
"Are you going to get off?" I asked.
"I'm going to look for the student sheet. Do you remember that you said it was in your apartment?" He said, slightly narrowing his eyes, "unless you don't want to."
What?
I didn't know what I wanted; I had an internal debate between running and fleeing or screaming because he would come up to my apartment after our interesting chat with the subtle flirtation of sex.
"Fine." I limited myself to saying that I could not refuse because I would feel that, in some way, I would make him understand that he intimidated me too much to take any risky step, but that was it; I didn't want him to believe that I was rejecting him because I did want this and my desire for him won over the morality that warned me not to.
«It's not that something is going to happen, Nube; he's not interested in you.»
Didn't it? Yeah?
Even so, she was very nervous.
The worst part was that she knew we would be alone because Saraelí was working.
We got off, and I felt my heart race as we entered the building.
