Chapter 59 — Happy Tour
Clave.
Missing.
Francis went missing after withdrawing the case.
Now, there was no way Francis could take Draven away from us, let alone even think about getting Zinnia. All thanks to Ace for that. He stuck to his words like glue, and I was happy with the outcome.
"I still can't believe it," Zinnia let out while eating her lunch. "How come Francis withdrew the case? I thought he would put up a harder fight than this and we were gonna have to keep going to the court for another month."
I stole a glance at Draven, who was busy eating his food, not bothering to hear our conversation. He was just relieved he didn't have to go to court anymore. He hated going there.
"Did you have something to do with it, Clave?"
When I looked back at her, I found her suspiciously narrowing her eyes at me. I just shot her a smile in response.
"For now, let's focus on having lunch, wifey."
She opened her mouth to speak once again, but Draven interrupted all of a sudden, "I want a family trip!"
"We will go somewhere this summer, don't worry." I smiled at Zinnia who returned it to me as we turned to Draven. "You will have your family trip," I assured him.
"But we can go to Disneyland this weekend if you want, Draven," Zinnia added. "You wanted to go there last month."
"Really? He didn't tell me." I took a bite of my spaghetti and said, "We can definitely go there."
"Actually, I wanted to go for Mysa. She wants a Tinker Bell pendant from there. Her parents promised her." My smile immediately dropped upon hearing that. Poor Mysa. She lost her parents already at this age, and she did not have any siblings either.
"Did her parents promise her to get a Tinker Bell pendant?" Zinnia inquired.
He shook his head, his expression sad. "They promised to show her Disneyland. Now that it cannot happen, she wants the Tinker Bell pendant. It's her favorite character. She really loves it, and I want to get it for her."
"So you want to go to Disneyland just to get Mysa her Tinker Bell pendant?" I asked to be sure. When he nodded his head innocently, I arched an eyebrow in amusement.
Draven had a crush on Flora, and he wished to go to Disneyland just to bring an item for Mysa. Was there a dilemma I was sensing my son would face in the future? I hoped not.
"We can just take Mysa to Disneyland with us. I will talk to her aunt," Zinnia suggested.
"Really?" Draven's eyes lit up in excitement. "We can actually take Mysa with us?"
"Yeah, why not?" I let out. "If not with her parents, she could enjoy it with us. At least one of her wishes won't remain incomplete."
"Poor girl. The universe is so unfair sometimes." She sighed and murmured, "Mysa must have had so many wishes. But now, unfortunately, none of her wishes will get fulfilled."
"Why, Mom?" he asked with curiosity.
"Well, Draven, who do you go to when you wish for something? Us, right?" When he nodded, still a little confused, Zinnia explained to him, "Yes. All children are precious to the parents, so we try our best to fulfill the wishes of our children before they can even ask for it. But Mysa doesn't have her parents with her now. Who will fulfill her wishes and treat her like a princess?"
Draven became quiet, trying to fully absorb what Zinnia told him.
We decided to let him think and continued eating in silence.
When we were done with our lunch and I was about to get up from my seat, Draven spoke up, "Mom and Dad."
"Yes?" I waited for him to continue speaking.
"When I grow old like you, I will fulfill Mysa's every wish."
Zinnia and I exchanged a look—as if both of us were wondering about what was going on in the mind of this kid. It was hard to always understand how a kid’s mind functioned.
"Why wait till you grow old like us?" I ended up questioning.
"Because I have to earn at first and then become her support, right?" he replied, and our hearts were filled with pride.
We were definitely raising him right.
###
Today was the day we visited Disneyland.
It was really a wise decision to bring Mysa with us, and thankfully, her aunt agreed to send her. Her aunt really tried to care for her Mysa like her own daughter.
So now Mysa was enjoying herself to the fullest, and Draven, being the gentleman that he was, also never left her side. The two of them labeled this day as a 'Happy Tour,’ and Zinnia and I were happy to see the two of them have fun, especially Mysa who had gone a little quiet after losing her parents.
Zinnia was busy clicking their pictures as the kids were on the merry-go-round while I was eating a vanilla ice cream. Seeing her so engrossed in the happiness of the kids, I took a bit of ice cream on my finger and applied it to her cheek.
"Clave!" She stopped clicking the picture and glared at me. "Eat your ice cream, instead of smearing it on my face."
"Oh, so you want me to smear only one thing on your face?" I teased her.
It took her some time to understand what I meant. She gasped the moment she realized it, her cheeks heating up with embarrassment.
Zinnia lightly punched my arm. "At least stop making dirty jokes here! There are so many people around."
I laughed at her words. "When it's with you, I will make dirty jokes anytime and anywhere, whether you like it or not."
She rolled her eyes. "Do whatever you want."
"C'mon, I know you like it." I wrapped my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me and a little out of the public's eyes. "Agree to it, Zinnia. It's about time."
"Agree to what?" She raised an eyebrow.
"That you love it when I flirt with you. It makes your heart flutter."
A smile threatened to appear on her lips, but she was quick to cover it up. "It doesn't do anything to me."
"Oh, really? So you have no reaction to my words or my touches?"
She shook her head.
"Are you sure?" When she nodded, I leaned toward her. "Then let me see it by myself," I breathed and placed my lips on hers.
Zinnia whirled around in my arms, wrapping her arms around my neck with the camera still in her grip, while my hands remained on her waist. She rose to her tiptoes to get better access to my mouth, but I didn’t let her win the domination that easily.
I bit her bottom lip, and she let out a little gasp, which let me enter my tongue into her mouth. She flushed our chests, trying to fight against me.
Even though we had kissed a thousand times by now, each time it left a fulfilling feeling in our chests. Every time it was just as captivating as the first time.
Besides, who could tell we brought kids here with the way we were kissing the hell out of each other in a public place?
When we were out of breath, we pulled apart. Our foreheads touched as she mumbled, "Fine, you win. Your every action makes me feel things I have never felt before. I love it when you flirt or crack dirty jokes with me. I just love you."
"I love you, too," with that, I was about to claim her lips once again until a certain thought crossed her mind.
"You never told me what happened to Francis."
I scowled at the mention of his name. "You just had to ruin our moment."
"Well, I want to know to be sure whether he would return to our lives or not."
"Alright, I just told Ace to take care of him. That's it," I finally told her.
She furrowed her brows. "Take care? Exactly how?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "Honestly speaking, even I don't know. Let's just leave it to Ace, but I can assure you Francis will never return to our life."
Zinnia unsurely nodded. "I just hope he's alive at least."
Oh, but I hope not. I had full faith in Ace Valentino.
However, I wasn't going to correct Zinnia. Let her think about what she wanted. If I asked Ace, he would tell me in a heartbeat what he did to Francis, but I didn't want to know, either.
Some things were better left unknown for the sake of peace.
