Chapter 107

**AMELIA**

I thought that yesterday's party was successful but this one is even better. Everyone is dressed up and the decoration is even more elegant than the day before. When I chose my dress for tonight, I was very careful not to show my belly which is just starting to show. The last thing I want is for the person behind my assault to know that I am pregnant. I don't want to look like a vulnerable person.

As soon as we got to the tent we were accosted from all sides and even though we are outside the air is starting to run out. While Noah chats with Toby, I excuse myself to go outside to breathe before dinner is served.

As soon as I step outside, I take a deep breath, I don't dare to take them off for fear of not being able to put them back on. I take a few steps away from the hubbub of the party.

"Is the party bothering you already?" A voice I now recognize asks from behind me.

I turn around to see Alpha Xander, he looks very handsome in his black suit, his hair combed back and his three day old beard.

"I just felt like getting some fresh air." I pause, not knowing what to say to him or how to respond. I think Noah is right, he seems to be watching for the slightest opportunity to come talk to me alone. "Did you follow me?" I dare to ask him.

"Yes." He simply answers, looking me straight in the eye and I see what my mate was afraid I would see. He's right...he wants me. His brown eyes give way to black eyes briefly. "I can't seem to let you out of my sight, I'm afraid."

"You shouldn't say such things. I am mated, to an alpha no less. And I'm a mother."

"It's inappropriate, I'll give you that." He pauses without taking his eyes off me. "And yet it's the truth."

I have to get out of here, if Noah sees us.

"I'll..."

He cuts me off by grabbing my arm before I can make to walk away towards the party. I feel little tingles where he touches me. My eyes move from my arm to his eyes and my wolf briefly takes over. She seems to recognize him but she is as confused as I am.

"Alpha Xander I was looking for you..."

I turn abruptly to see Alpha Randall swinging his eyes from Xander to me with a smirk.

"Luna Amelia was taken by a slight dizziness and I supported her." Xander breaks the silence and releases my arm. "Luna there is a bench further back if you want to sit down."

"I'm fine, thanks. I'll go back to my mate."

When I walk by Randall he still has a satisfied smile on his lips. This asshole, will be quick to relate what he saw to anyone who will listen. I walk briskly to the marquee and join Noah at our table.

"I was getting ready to pick you up. Is everything okay?" He asks me with a frown. "You look..."

"I'm fine." I cut him off. "I must be having some kind of hot flashes because of..." I pause as I raise my eyebrows and he nods, placing his hand on my thigh.

A few minutes later, Xander and Randall enter the tent and the latter no longer has a satisfied smile but rather a serious face. I wonder what he could have said to him.

I drink my glass of water in one go. I don't know what happened outside, when he touched me, but it was strange. The tingling reminded me of the first time I saw Noah...which is purely impossible.

**NOAH**

We made the most of the party, so much so that I carried Amelia to our room because her feet hurt from dancing so much. I didn't mind giving Xander a pleased smile every time our eyes met. He didn't take his eyes off her and I was close to putting my fist in his face. The only reason I didn't is because I know she wouldn't appreciate it because it would have ruined the party.

Once in our room, I put her down on the bed. She sits down and pats the spot next to her and I comply.

She takes my hand in hers. "We said we weren't hiding anything from each other anymore so I have to tell you something." I look at her with a frown. "When I came out earlier, Alpha Xander came up to me."

I stand up suddenly, startling her. "I'm going to kill him." I say through my teeth.

"Please. Let me finish." She tells me softly.

"Oh because there's something else?" I'm bubbling inside but I force myself to sit back down next to her.

"He admitted to me that he followed me out and when I asked him why he told me he couldn't get away from me."

"When I turned around, he grabbed my arm. Kindly." She adds quickly, as I turn to abruptly. "I felt a tingling sensation and my wolf took over very quickly. She seemed to recognize him but was confused. Alpha Randall, saw us and then, I joined you."

"Is that why you're telling me?" I ask her. I see red, I'm totally blinded by the anger that's coming over me.

"What?" She asks me confused.

"Is it because you were seen that you are telling me?" I ask her, pressing on every word.

"Of course not. I'm telling you about it because I don't want to hide anything from you."

I stand up and start pacing, running my hands through my hair.

"Let's go home." I tell her. "Now!" I add when she doesn't get up.

She flinches. "We're not leaving now, it's late. Besides, you've been drinking..."

"I said now!" I raise my voice more. "Don't worry, I can drive." She slowly gets up. "Get your stuff together, we're leaving."

"Noah..."

"Don't fucking say anything else." I'm too angry to hear what she might want to tell me. I just want to get away from this place as fast as possible and forget about this.
