Chapter 34: Alaina

He says as he guides my hips and impales me in one swift thrust as far as he can go. I throw my head back and cry out at the intrusion and he stills for a second.

‘Sweetheart, are you ok? Did I hurt you?’ he asks concerned, and I moan and shake my head.

‘I need you to move baby, please,’ I beg him. He groans and begins to move in earnest, his thrusts meeting mine. It’s hard and fast but I need it. Tension builds quickly as our movements become more frantic. Water cascades over the side of the tub and I brace myself on his shoulders to keep balance.

I come hard and sudden, screaming his name as my pussy clamps down around him, setting his orgasm off too.

Our foreheads are pressed together as we both catch our breath, breathing and panting hard.

‘Well, that’ll give the caterers something to talk about,’ he says grinning wickedly and I feel my cheeks burn with embarrassment. Maybe I’ll just stay in the bedroom till they leave.

‘Come on, time to get ready,’ he says, holding out his hand to help me out of the tub and into the shower that we now both need. Once we’re cleaned up, he leaves me alone in our bedroom to get ready.

Even though the dinner is in our home, Lucas decided that we should all dress up tonight. I decide on a black silk dress for dinner. It has a low back and neckline with a thin strap over each shoulder. Its figure hugging and stops just past my knees. I dry and pin my hair into a messy knot behind my right ear and I apply light make up. I wear my diamond stud earrings, that Lucas bought me the day after I told him I was pregnant, and I wear my mother’s bracelet.

Lucas’s mum and sister have just arrived as I come out of the bedroom. His mother, Carolyn, comes straight towards me and envelopes me in a tight hug.

‘Alaina, darling, you look beautiful,’ she tells me kindly, and I thank her. His sister is bouncing around behind his mother, waiting for her turn with me, and I smile.

‘Hey, you look great,’ she says giving me a hug and kiss on the cheek. ‘We still on for tomorrow?’ she asks enthusiastically, and I laugh and nod at her excitement.

‘What’s this?’ Lucas asks, coming up behind his sister and handing her a glass of champagne and orange juice to me.

‘Shopping and lunch tomorrow,’ I explain, and he turns to look at his sister.

‘Just make sure you don’t tire her out, OK?’ he says sternly, and she rolls her eyes.

‘Jeez, bro. We’re going for lunch, not running a marathon.’ I laugh at his outraged expression.

Taylor, Carley and my dad all arrive at the same time, all greeting me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek. It’s wonderful having everyone together, and I smile as I sit back and watch the banter between everyone as Lucas hands out drinks.

We all sit down to dinner and I have to admit the caterers have outdone themselves - scallops with roasted peppers, lobster, steak and then tiramisu. It all smells amazing and tastes delicious. The conversation flows freely, and Lucas looks down the table to me from the other end and raises his glass, which I return, smiling. This is perfect.

We have just finished dessert, and coffee is being served, when Lucas stands suddenly and comes up to my seat at the table. The table instantly hushes at his sudden movement.

‘Baby, are you ok?’ I ask him, concerned.

‘I’ve never been better.’ He tells me his eyes shine with love and adoration. I will never tire of him looking at me like that.

‘Alaina, I thought I had everything I would ever need. I have my family, a few close friends and my business. I wasn’t looking for anything else. But you have come into my life and I have realised everything that I was missing. You are kind, caring, sweet and the most beautiful woman I think I’ve every laid eyes on. You make me thankful to be yours every day, and I know you are going to be the best mother in the world to our child. So, Miss Alaina Winters, will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?’ he says, as he slowly gets down on one knee and pulls out a ring box.

Inside is the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen. I can see from the box, it’s from Tiffany’s. It’s a two carat, pear shaped diamond on a diamond platinum band. It’s stunning.

‘Yes,’ I say, tears of happiness rolling down my cheeks.

‘Yes, I’d love to marry you,’ I say as he slides the ring on my finger. Perfect fit.

He picks me up, lifting me off my chair and swings me around gently. His lips find mine and he kisses me passionately. Our family and friends are on their feet clapping and whistling. Lucas’s mom, sister and Carley are all crying and passing around tissues.

My dad gets to me first, tears in his eyes, as he pulls me tight against him and whispers in my ear, ‘He asked my permission you know, at lunch last week. I’m so proud of you Lainey. He’s a good man.’ He kisses me on the forehead.

‘Yeah, dad, he is,’ I agree.

I’m scooped up by Lucas’s mom and sister next, who are both still hysterical. They embrace me at the same time and welcome me to the family.

Carley squeals with delight when she finally gets hold of me. She kisses my cheek and hugs me tightly. As I return the hug, I see Taylor eyeing the scene with an odd expression, but I’m too happy and distracted to wonder why.

‘Oh my God, we are going to have so much fun planning this wedding,’ she tells me, bouncing and clapping her hands together, and I laugh at her enthusiasm.

I’m finally passed back to my fiancé, who pulls me close to him, and I wrap my arms around his neck pulling him close and kissing him softly.

‘You’ve made me so happy,’ I whisper against his lips.

‘Forever,’ he promises, and I nod my head in agreement.

‘Forever.’
