Chapter 14

As Kayla opened the door she was greeted with silence, the only thing that could be heard was she machine beeping, she observed that a new drip has been fixed but there was no sign of Daisy anywhere,

Immediately Kayla pulled out her phone to call Daisy, Her phone was ringing but there was no response,

On the third ring, Daisy eventually picked the call,

"Where are your sis? Kayla asked carefully as she sat down on the couch, But she was greeted with silence, she heard Daisy's muffled cries,

"I can come meet you wherever you are right now Sis" Kayla said again,

"No..it's alright I will be at the hospital in the next hour, I went to the court to collect the legalized divorce papers, Daisy explained,

"Alright" Kayla said as she ended the call.

An hour passed and Daisy walked into the room her eyes slightly puffed, it was evident that she had cried, Kayla without saying anything pulled her in for a hug,

"I have got good news" Kayla said still holding onto Daisy, " we have a home now and I have a job, Jake got me a space at a diner, it comes with free food and an attractive pay, Kayla continued

"Oh my god…that's huge Kayla thank you so so much," Daisy replied and the both sister started crying,

Jake consoled the both sisters as they stopped crying and began to snack on the pizza Daisy brought with her.

Few minutes past eight, Kayla begged Jake to drop Daisy at the new apartment while she went to the diner directly from the hospital.

So Jake takes daisy to the new apartment Kayla rented and Kayla took a cab to the diner, she arrived ten minutes before her shift time and she was showed the locker room where workers could store their stuffs and change outfits,

While Kayla was changing into the new shirt John had given to her, two girls walked in.

"Hello you must be the new one John hired, lovely to meet you," one of the girls said as she offered her hands to Kayla,

Kayla shook her hands while offering her a smile "pleasure" she uttered.

"My name is Kay, and this is Mia," the first girl continued, the other girl introduced herself too to Kayla and they all got ready for tonight's work.

When Kayla walked back to the main hall, the place was filled with people, some tables were cleared out to create a dancing space in the middle of the diner,

Kayla got into the bar space and started attending to the customers that sat by the bar, while the other girls mia and Kay picked up drinks from the bar to hand over to the customers who sat at the tables eating steak and watching other dancers,

Kayla messed up the order a few times, but hours into it she was finally getting a hang of the whole thing, she was charming and a smile earned her tips as well,

Finally by 1am people started leaving the diner and the the population was becoming less,

And gradually it was finally empty, well apart from the workers, Kayla had taken a few drinks to stay alert and her feet were killing.

John called all the workers as they sat around a big table there were six in number well excluding John,

John brought out pasta and steak for them to eat and they delve right into it while he shared the tips for the day,

After they all had a hearty meal, the whole place was cleared up, and one after the other the workers left for their respective homes. Kayla called a cab and stood outside the diner waiting for it to arrive,

After twenty minutes of waiting the cab finally arrived, and she hopped in..

In less than thirty minutes she arrived at the front of her apartment, she tilles the cab driver and stood in front of the apartment contemplating how she was going walk all the way to the top floor,

"Arghhhhh" she grumbled internally as she started her journey all the way up to the top floor,

When she got to her room she used her keys to open the door, she was greeted with Daisy who slept off while watching Tv and the popcorn lay beside her,

Kayla chuckled as she covered Daisy properly and adjusted her head to rest properly on the bed,

Kayla cleaned up the scattered popcorn as she hopped into the shower to take a long bath.

Meanwhile on the other Bryan has been trying every possible way to look for Kayla, he blamed himself everyday for making the stupid mistake of not getting her contact or anything important,

"How is there no news about her? Till now? Bryan shouted as he threw the glass of whiskey which had recently become his companion ever since Kayla left him,

"I tried everything Boss, but with no personal information I couldn't get anything, even the hospital where she was admitted they couldn't collect any personal information because you brought her in yourself.

"Try again, search everywhere for her, call in an artist to draw up a search picture and go to the cafe where she dropped by, asking if they know something about her" Bryan said.

"Okay boss" Mike replied as he turned around and left the room, wondering who was this girl that was of high Importance to his boss.

Bryan poured out another glass of whiskey as he brought out a black panties from his pocket. They belonged to Kayla and was the only reminder of their passionate night.
