Chapter 11

The tension in the car grew as the ride continued, Neither Bryan nor Kayla would say a word to each other,

"Stop the car please" Kayla said,

"Why? I can't see any hospital around and it's still a far ride from here. Why do you want to stop here? Bryan questioned,

"Just stop the car", Kayla insisted,

"Driver pull over" Bryan commanded,

Immediately the driver parked the car, Kayla tried to exit the car, but Bryan stops her,

"Will I see you again"? Bryan asked,

Kayla was stunned, she couldn't speak, different thoughts ran across her mind, she tried to envision a future with Bryan, but the complications in her life right now, she needed no more drama, she was still trying to recover from Tristan's betrayal, and her dad's health, everything was a lot,

She turned around and picked up her nylon as she opened the car and stepped out, "Goodbye Bryan" she muttered as she closed the door, she turned around and walked into the nearest cafe,

Bryan ordered his driver to move on, as he thought of what went wrong, everything was going so smooth between them, and God, the sex, until Damned Erica showed up, it was until he had gotten to the basement parking lot of his office that he realized that he hadn't gotten Kayla's contact and he had no way to reach her now,

"Damn.." Bryan cursed as he strolled Into his office with an angry look.

"What would you like to have, ma'am?" Someone asked as Kayla's thoughts were interrupted, she watched as Bryan's car drove away without any care in the world ,

"A milky latte and box of doughnuts please" Kayla ordered as she wiped out the trail of tears that streamed down her eyes,

"Alright" the waitress stated as she walked away,

Immediately Kayla brought out the new phone Bryan has given to her and she could feel her emotions rising, she internally scolded herself not to cry again as she remembers her sister's number,

"Hello"...

"Kayla..where have you been? Jake already lodged a report at the police station concerning your whereabouts you left me all worried and worked up, I practically looked for you every where, where the fuck have you been"..Daisy said as she gushed over sentences,

This made Kayla really emotional and she couldn't hold back her tears "I am….re…ally sor..ry", Kayla said as she tried to control her emotions,

"Why are you crying? Hello…Kayla?.. Is everything okay? Are you lost or stuck somewhere? Do you need a ride or money? tell me what is the problem, why are you crying"? Daisy asked again this time concern was evident in her tone,

"No….no…no, I am completely fine, emm I got the money for dad's treat..ment I will be at the hospital in an hour , so please ask Jake to withdraw the report at the station, and be at ease I will see you soon, Kayla replied as she composed herself so Daisy wouldn't have to worry more.

Kayla ended the call as her order arrived, she drank her latte and mushed the doughnuts in satisfaction,

At least money for dad's treatment is available, although the money wouldn't last her and Daisy for a long time she will need to get a job, Kayla thought to herself.

After her meal, Kayla ordered another set of doughnuts for Daisy and waffles for Jake. She thought about how worried they must have been about her.

She booked a ride to the hospital after dropping by the bank to Cash the cheque Bryan had given her, Although she felt guilty as she received the money but she was left with no other options as she walked into the hospital reception.

She made payments in full for her dad's treatments as she collected the receipts of the payment she went upstairs to meet her sister and dad,

Immediately she opened the door of her father's assigned ward Daisy rushed to her and pulled her in a tight hug, the both sister remained like that for a while until daisy pulled back,

"Are you Okay Kayla why didn't you call me"? Daisy said as tears rolled down her eyes, at this point both Kayla and Daisy were crying,

"I'm so sorry sis, everything happened in a rush and I was admitted.."

"Admitted??...what!?....why? When??.Daisy interrupted, Kayla as Jake walked up to where the both sisters stood, trying to inspect Kayla's body,

"It's nothing sister, all that matters is that I'm perfectly fine and standing here with you, guess what I cleared the bills and brought your favorite doughnuts, come on sit with me" Kayla said as she pulled her sister to sit on the cushion provided by the hospital for patients family to rest on,

Jake opened the box of doughnuts while Daisy scanned through the receipts of payments Kayla had presented to her, Truly everything was paid and cleared!

"You know you are amazing Kayla, what Will I do without you" Daisy said as she pulls Kayla in for a hug again, but this time without the tears,

"Awwwwwwww, but you are the best sister in the whole world, Kayla said In return,

"Now I feel jealous, Jake chipped in,

"You can join us, Kayla said and then it turned into a group hug,

The trio ate up all the doughnuts as they gifted and took turns mocking Kayla, oftentimes Kayla's mind would wander off and Daisy observed that Kayla wasn't really okay but decided not to bring up the matter until Kayla was ready to talk about it.

Few hours later, the doctors came in to check on their father, and Jake stepped out to order dinner,

Dinner arrived in few minutes time and the trio ate their meal silently,

After the meal, Jake bid Kayla and Daisy goodnight. He thought that Daisy and Kayla would need some privacy as well as rest.

"You will tell me if something is wrong right? Daisy asked as they both lay down with blankets,

"Of course I will, Kayla replied as she drew closer to her sister's embrace.
