Chapter 16: Chapter sixteen: A seer
“A seer…..” Catherine repeatedly called out loud while the maid nodded positively.
“And how are you sure a seer won't give me the wrong answer or should I say the answer I don't want.” Catherine asked the maid who stared back at her speechless as to what to say next.
“That's why you need to try your luck and know what to do and how to go about defeating her and who knows maybe you can finally get rid of her for good.” the maid said making Catherine stand up from her seat and giving the maid a hug.
“I can't thank you enough, I wonder what would have happened if I didn't try to share my problems with you..from now on I have given you the freedom to interact very well with me whenever you notice my worried looks.” Catherine said.
The maid, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude, smiled warmly at Catherine. "Thank you, Your Highness. I promise to always be there for you and help you in any way I can."
Catherine returned the smile, feeling a newfound sense of hope. "I appreciate that, and I truly value your loyalty. Now, tell me more about this seer. Where can I find her?"
The maid hesitated for a moment, unsure if she should reveal the seer's location. However, seeing Catherine's determination, she decided to trust her instincts. "There is a small village not far from here. It is said that the seer resides there. I can arrange for a carriage to take you there, if you wish."
Catherine nodded eagerly. "Yes, please do. I must meet this seer and find a way to defeat her. I cannot let her continue to manipulate and torment me."
The maid nodded, understanding Catherine's frustration. "I will make the arrangements immediately, Your Highness. But please remember, the seer's powers are strong. It may not be easy to confront her. However, with your determination and the help of others, I believe you can overcome any obstacle."
Catherine's eyes sparkled with determination. "I will not rest until I have found a way to rid myself of her influence. I am tired of living in fear and uncertainty. It is time for me to take control of my own destiny."
The maid smiled, proud of Catherine's newfound strength. "I have faith in you, Your Highness. Together, we will find a way to break free from Freya's hold."
“But my problem is, Alpha Tyler doesn't like anyone seeing a seer because he sees their power as fake.” the maid reminded Catherine who scoffed.
“I will deal with him myself when I am back.” Catherine said trying to act brave but deep down she was nervous about what could happen if Tyler found out.
Catherine took a deep breath as she made her way to Alpha Tyler's chambers. She knew that confronting him about her visit to the seer would not be easy, but she couldn't let her fear hold her back any longer. She needed to assert herself and make her own decisions.
As she approached the grand doors of Tyler's chambers, her heart pounded in her chest. She raised her hand to knock, but her hand trembled with uncertainty. What if he didn't understand? What if he saw her actions as a betrayal?
Unable to gather the courage to knock, Catherine stepped back and sighed. She realized that she couldn't risk being thrown out of the palace or losing Tyler's trust. Keeping her visit to the seer a secret seemed like the only option for now.
With a heavy heart, Catherine turned away from Tyler's chambers and made her way back to her own quarters. She knew that she would have to face the consequences of her actions later, but for now, she needed to focus on finding a way to defeat the seer and regain control over her own life.
Few days later,Catherine's heart raced with anticipation as she made her way to the small village where the seer resided. She couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Sophie than met the eye. She needed answers, and she believed that the seer held the key to unraveling the truth.
As she entered the seer's humble cottage, the air seemed to crackle with mystic energy. The seer, an old woman with wise eyes, greeted Catherine with a knowing smile. "Welcome, Your Highness. I have been expecting you."
Catherine's voice trembled slightly as she spoke. "I seek your guidance, seer. I need to know the truth about Freya. Who is she really?"
The seer's eyes seemed to pierce through Catherine's soul as she studied her intently. After a moment of silence, the seer spoke in a voice filled with ancient wisdom. "Freya is not what she appears to be, Your Highness. She is a hybrid, born of both werewolf and vampire blood."
Catherine's eyes widened in shock. The revelation sent a chill down her spine. "A hybrid? But how is that possible?"
The seer nodded, her expression grave. "It is rare, but not unheard of. Sophie possesses the strength and abilities of both species, making her a formidable force. She has been using her powers to manipulate and control those around her, including you."
Catherine's mind raced as she tried to process the information. Everything suddenly made sense - Sophie's uncanny charm, her ability to influence others, and mostly Tyler.
Determined to confront Sophie and put an end to her reign of manipulation, Catherine looked at the seer with determination. "Tell me, seer, how can I defeat her? How can I protect myself and those I care about?"
The seer's gaze softened, and she reached out to hold Catherine's hands. "To defeat Sophie, you must embrace your own strength and power. You possess a resilience and determination that can overcome any challenge. Seek allies who share your cause, and together, you can bring an end to her reign."
“What do you mean by her reign??” Catherine asked the word reign ringing in her mind.
“Not only is she a hybrid I can see royalty blood in her, but she might be coming back for something big.”
