My husband's mistress is a Man 7
“Zane, Zane… that’s enough.”
June’s palm pressed lightly but firmly against his chest, pushing him back into the seat.
Zane froze, staring at her like she’d just stolen his last breath. His cheeks were flushed, his lips still parted, eyes shimmering with unshed tears..the kind a spoiled boy gets when he feels unfairly denied.
“But I want you…” His voice was soft but raw, pout tugging at his mouth. His brows knitted together, and he tilted his head, studying her like he couldn’t quite believe the rejection.
June’s gaze didn’t waver. “Not tonight, baby.”
His frown deepened instantly. He didn’t miss the edge in her tone..cold, distant, the tone she used when she was thinking about someone else. And he knew exactly who that someone else might be.
It had to be him. That boy. That stupid, too-pretty-for-his-own-good boy who had strolled into her office earlier like he owned the air she breathed.
“Is it because of that Avery?” Zane’s voice was sharper now, the polite assistant’s façade cracking. “Don’t I satisfy you enough? Don’t I do enough for you, mistress?”
June leaned back into the leather seat, her legs crossing effortlessly. She didn’t even grant him the satisfaction of a glance. “Don’t be dramatic.”
Her tone wasn’t cruel..it was worse. It was dismissive.
Zane’s jaw tightened, chest rising and falling with the kind of frustration he could barely contain.
She tapped the driver’s shoulder lightly. “Stop at the pharmacy. I need to get some things.”
“Yes, ma’am.” The driver’s voice was neutral, professional. The glass partition between the front and back kept him from seeing much, but even if he had, he’d never dare comment.
Zane turned his head to the window, sulking like a boy exiled from his favorite toy. The city lights painted fleeting reflections over his face..sharp angles softened by the melancholy in his eyes.
June watched him out of the corner of her eye. There was a small pinch of guilt somewhere in her chest, but it didn’t reach her expression. She wasn’t done with Zane..not yet. But sugar boys who forgot their place were dangerous. If she let him grow too attached, he’d become a liability.
Besides, she had already made up her mind tonight. Avery would be hers before morning. She couldn’t let this pretty, insatiable nympho in the back seat tire her out before then.
The car slowed in front of the largest pharmacy in the city. Its bright neon signage bled color into the tinted glass.
She uncrossed her legs slowly, deliberately, letting the movement catch Zane’s eye. “Go get me condoms and after-pills.”
His head snapped toward her. “You want me to..?”
“Mm.” She met his gaze with a faint smile. “Yes.”
The stubborn set of his jaw told her everything. He wasn’t moving. He wouldn’t fetch supplies so she could sleep with another man, even if their arrangement was never exclusive.
June’s lips curved, amusement flickering in her eyes. “So you’re going to sulk?”
He looked away, biting back a retort.
That was all the invitation she needed. In one swift motion, she reached for him, fingers curling into the back of his neck. She tugged him forward until their mouths collided.
Zane made a startled sound, hands bracing against her shoulders in an instinctive push. She caught his wrists with her free hand, pinning him easily. Her kiss was deliberate..domineering, punishing, yet laced with the heat she knew would melt him.
She pressed harder, claiming his mouth until he squirmed from lack of air, until she felt the flush bloom across his ears and throat. She didn’t let up until she felt the fight drain out of him, replaced by that telltale, needy compliance.
When she finally pulled back, she didn’t release him entirely. She leaned her forehead to his, letting her warm breath ghost over his lips. His eyes were glassy now, wide and pleading in a way that told her she had him exactly where she wanted him.
Her voice was low, velvety, but every syllable carried the weight of command. “Now, be a little obedient boy for mommy… and go get me condoms and after-pills.”
His throat bobbed in a silent swallow. She watched his resolve crumble, the defiance in his eyes softening into submission.
With one last lingering look, Zane slipped out of the car, the city’s cool night air swallowing him up.
June leaned back, a slow, satisfied exhale escaping her lips. She’d trained him well.
Zane stepped out of the car with the kind of reluctance usually reserved for death row inmates. The cool night air brushed against his face, making the warmth from her kiss feel all the more searing.
He stood there for a moment, the pharmacy’s bright sign glaring down on him like an unblinking eye.
He could run.
That thought came sharp and sudden..hit him like a wild temptation. He could just walk away. Go anywhere else. Make her wonder if maybe she’d pushed him too far this time.
But even as the idea bloomed, it withered. Because walking away meant surrendering more than just the game..it meant losing her attention. Her control. Her approval. And for all his wounded pride, for all the jealous heat churning in his stomach, he wanted that more than his next breath.
Zane swallowed hard, shoving his hands into his pockets as he started toward the automatic doors.
He could still feel her.
Not physically..though the ghost of her grip on his neck lingered..but in his head. That low, velvet tone that curled around his spine. The heat in her gaze that told him resistance was, at best, adorable to her. At worst, punishable.
The glass doors slid open with a quiet hiss.
Inside, the place smelled faintly of antiseptic and paper packaging. Harsh fluorescent lighting stripped away any shadows he could hide in. A clerk at the counter glanced up and smiled mechanically.
Zane walked past the aisles, scanning the shelves. He’d been in pharmacies a thousand times, but never with his pride dangling by a thread, never feeling like the entire store was in on his humiliation.
Every row he passed seemed too quiet. The condoms were halfway down aisle six, a small wall of colorful boxes with discreet branding. He stared at them longer than he meant to, each packet suddenly weightier in meaning.
These weren’t for him.
They were for someone else.
For Avery.
The image flashed in his head before he could stop it..Avery’s too-pretty face tipped back, June’s mouth at his throat, that faint, mocking smile she got when she was breaking someone in.
Zane’s jaw tightened. He grabbed a box at random, tossing it into the crook of his arm before moving toward the next aisle.
The after-pills were locked behind glass. Of course they were. He flagged down a young female clerk who looked barely older than a college student.
“Can I help you?” she asked, already reaching for the keys at her belt.
“Yeah,” he said, clearing his throat. “I need..uh..those.” He nodded toward the shelf.
She unlocked the case, retrieving the small package without comment. But her eyes flicked briefly to the condoms in his arm, and her mouth twitched like she was trying not to smile.
By the time he reached the counter, Zane could feel heat creeping up the back of his neck. He tapped his fingers against his thigh, pretending to study the credit card machine as the clerk scanned his items.
“That’ll be $47.20,” she said.
He paid quickly, shoving the bag into his pocket as soon as it was handed over.
The walk back to the car felt longer than the one to the pharmacy. Each step was a silent argument with himself. A battle between his jealousy and his need to obey.
When he reached the car, June’s eyes were already on him. The tinted glass distorted her expression slightly, but he could still read her…calm, expectant, entirely sure he’d done exactly what she told him.
He opened the door and slid back inside, placing the small bag on the seat between them.
“Good boy,” she said, her voice barely above a murmur.
The words sank into him like warm water over cold skin. His shoulders loosened, even though her gaze never softened.
“You hesitated,” she added.
Zane looked down. “I didn’t..”
She tilted her head. “You did. But you came back. And that’s what matters.”
He hated how much those words pleased him.
June reached over and took the bag, her fingers brushing his just long enough to remind him who owned the space between them. She didn’t thank him. She didn’t need to. The reward was in her acknowledgement, and he knew it.
The rest of the ride was quiet. June leaned back, scrolling through her phone, while Zane sat still, hyperaware of the faint scent of her perfume.
