Chapter 106
Ivonne's POV
"We have to go Tobias," I announced the moment I stepped foot into his office.
"Go where?" He implored, shifting his stare from the file in his hand to me, his thick brows creasing as he leaned back in his seat, the versace button up white shirt he had on above blue slacks, not closed till his neck as expected.
His eyes swept my form, lips curling in admiration as he bit his bottom lip, his gaze darkening. "You look beautiful babe, so beautiful that I want to rip that off you and pin you to this desk."
"Well that would have to wait till later tonight," I declared, making a motion with my hand. "Stand up, let's go."
"I was just about to ask where you are headed dressed too beautiful like that," he murmured, hauling his body into a standing position. "Because there's no plans for an outing in your schedule for the day."
"Yes that's true," I conversed. "Because we both have a place to be."
"You and I?" He interrogated, confusion taking over his facial features as his vision was directed at the clock on the wall which was the same as mine. "Where do we have to be at this hour?"
"Tobias, you are literally dressed for the occasion," I pronounced, gesturing to his attire.
He stared down at himself for some seconds while I waited for it to click in his head. I didn't wait long and the next thing, "oh shit!"
"The exact thing I said when I realized the time was upon us," I confessed as he walked from behind his desk toward where I stood. "It's a good thing we dressed up earlier by the way."
"I know right?" He said in more of a question than a statement. "Let's get going darling, before we end up being late for the event. You know how humans can be about tardiness."
"Everyone is concerned about tardiness Tobias," I exhaled a breath and covered the distance between us. I wrapped my fingers around his wrist and pulled him to the exit of the office.
We left the pack house and made our way to one of his cars. It was the range rover and he easily pulled the door of the driver's side ajar, while I trekked to the passenger seat and did same.
Before we both climbed in, he signalled the 4 men hanging around who were part of the warriors to hop into the other cars. With a nod, Leo and the others got into two more cars, one a ford jeep and the other a Mercedes Benz.
Once everyone was buckled up, the Benz was the first to move while the rest of us followed suit, steering out of the parking lot beside the park house, the cars rolled out.
Soon we were on the main roads, and Tobias and I shared mild conversations, the radio playing in the background, most times music while a few times they talk about something.
His hand rested on my thigh which was revealed by the slit of the skirt I had on. He perfectly maneuvered the vehicle with the other hand, his concentration unwavering as he peered at the path ahead which directed us out of the woods.
Soon we were on the human lands. There was still only wide expanse of trees and grasses with occasional houses after some meters but the only consistent thing was the road.
More than an hour had gone by as expected as the digital clock on my phone's screen read it as 4:57pm. There was still a long way to go and it was no doubt that we were late.
I just prayed there wouldn't be a problem and that the men at the dinner location would welcome us. My gaze shifted to Tobias in that moment and observed his neutral expression.
He didn't even seem worried about being late or maybe he was and he hid it from his expression. Exhaling a deep breath, I placed my left palm on his on my thigh and that switched his attention and gaze briefly to me.
"You good?" He asked as his eyes searched my facial features and I laughed. "What's funny?"
"Nothing." I moved my head from side to side, feeling touched and at the same time? Confident and protected to have a man like him as my partner and husband.
There I was wondering if he was okay and reached out my hand to him in affection however he was also worried about me if not more than the way I was about him.
"You sure darling?" He raised a question, concern filling his features. "I'm fine Tobias," I beamed at him and leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"You are lucky I'm concentrating on the road and in a hurry to meet up with this event," he grumbled as I returned to my previous posture, his lips curling in a smirk as he shifted his gaze between the road and me.
"Why is that?" I asked, a bit confused, a frown making itself known on my forehead.
"Because dear Ivonne," he angled his head to peer at me once again, a fire which I recognize in his irises. "If we were not running late, heaven knows I'd pull over right in the corner of the road this instant, unhook your seatbelt and lift you over here to sit on my dick."
The car felt hot all of a sudden and I choked on my spit, letting out short coughing fit. As I tried to calm the heat building up inside me at his words.
"I wouldn't care if Leo and the other guards have an idea about what's going on because all my attention would be in fucking you over, your pussy receiving the onslaught of my dick while the windows get foggy from our breaths."
Deciding two can play at the game, I swallowed, and inhaled a deep puff of oxygen, letting it out in a breathless manner in the words. "What's stopping you then? We are already late."
"Well sadly my darling," he smiled smugly and heaved a sigh a second later, "however, we are here now."
"Wow," I let out in surprise as my gaze shifted from him to the window and observed we were making a turn into the parking lot of the fancy restaurant.
"How did we get here so soon?" I implored in shock, blinking to make sure it was true and Tobias chuckled at that.
"Told you I was focused," he smirked and turned off the ignition, unlocking the car afterwards. I tapped my phone's screen and observed it was 5:34pm, making it clearly 2 hours as we had calculated thus we had left the pack house around 3:30pm.
We climbed down from the vehicle, the other two cars parked at either side of us, I smiled kindly at the guys and together we all strolled inside.
The place was a one-story edifice with brilliant golden lights and glass walls at the front, the inside painted a fine brown color to blend with the lights.
Leo checked our reservation while I held onto Tobias's arm. He indicated to us it was up stairs and Tobias led me to the spiral staircase, two of our men remaining downstairs while Leo and a guy named Garrett followed us up.
From a distance I noticed the investor we were meeting was the same man we met at Tobias's company the other time and my lips stretched in a smile at the familiar face.
"I'm so glad you came woman," the man announced as he caught sight of me, instantly rising to his feet and coming to pull me in a hug, his hands a bit lower on my waist than expected.
