Chapter 214
Chris's face darkened. "You're not welcome here, Mr. Smith. Please see yourself out."
Aiden unhurriedly put on his clothes and smoothed his hair. "Then I'll see you at the hospital in a bit."
He showed none of yesterday's vulnerable appearance.
Though he was in Chris's house, he acted as if he were in his own home, coming and going as he pleased.
Two seconds later, the sound of a heavy door slamming came from the entrance.
Chris's tense body relaxed. He noticed cold sweat had already formed on his back.
Aiden was right—if you looked at it rationally, he did have better odds of winning.
But... this man didn't deserve Victoria's genuine feelings.
Chris saw the glass Aiden had used on the table and threw it into the trash can in disgust.
He would use every means at his disposal to help Chase.
After Victoria drove out, she didn't go home but headed straight to the Carr Manor.
It was time for her to see how those two were doing.
In just over twenty minutes, Victoria had arrived.
Brian must have called ahead, because Brandon was already waiting outside early in the morning.
When he saw Victoria arrive, he immediately came forward, his face showing an unprecedented warmth.
"Ms. Spencer, you're finally here."
"Brandon, sorry to keep you waiting." Victoria wore a gentle smile, looking completely harmless.
Brandon looked at her with satisfaction. "Mr. Carr said that while he's away these two days, the Carr Family is under your supervision. Here are the keys to the basement. Do you need me to stand guard outside?"
"No need. Those two shouldn't be able to handle me. What are the Carr Family's punishment tools? Can I use them?"
Victoria smiled cunningly.
Brandon was already dissatisfied with that Alexander, so naturally he didn't object. Instead, he pulled out a leather whip with barbs from the side.
"It's a whip."
Victoria held it in her hand and gave it a swing. The whip made a whistling sound as it cut through the air.
"Not bad indeed."
She held the keys in one hand and the whip in the other, walking toward the basement. Today she would settle both old and new scores with those two.
Victoria reached the basement door and suddenly turned to Brandon. "Could you have two family doctors wait by the door? In case I can't control myself and go too far, they can treat their injuries."
Brandon agreed with a smile.
Brian had been too soft-hearted before and couldn't bring himself to deal with these two, but Victoria was different.
Brandon reminded her, "That Ms. Brown is pregnant. When you whip her..."
Victoria nodded. "I'll be gentler with her."
Brandon still wore a kind expression, but his words were frightening.
"No, I mean when you whip her, remember to avoid her abdomen."
Victoria laughed softly. "Of course."
Victoria walked step by step toward the basement.
At that moment in the basement, the obese Alexander was clutching a piece of bread and gnawing on it, cursing under his breath. "That old man went to a party and only gave me this crap to eat! I'm his only grandson! He's really heartless enough to do this to me. When I get out, I won't let him off."
Hannah lay on the ground, reaching out for the bread. "Alexander, I'm still carrying your child. I haven't eaten anything for a day and a night. Can you give me back that bread?"
Hearing this, Alexander finished the remaining bread in a few bites, his eyes full of disgust.
"You're just a woman, what do you need to eat so much for? Stop threatening me with the child every day. If you can get pregnant, you can always get pregnant again. Besides, that old man won't really let us die. Just bear with it."
Hannah's face was pale. The butler gave them three pieces of bread a day, but everything in her hands had been taken by this man, who didn't even leave her half a piece.
Hannah felt regretful and humiliated. If she had known it would turn out like this, she never would have latched onto this man in the first place!
Once she got out this time, she would definitely go find Aiden and beg for forgiveness.
Didn't Aiden want the Carr Family's bid documents?
Once she got out, she would go find them. She wanted the Carr Family to go bankrupt, and she wanted this fat pig to die too!
Alexander still wasn't satisfied after eating all that. He paced around the room irritably. "Who knows when they'll let me out. Those sluts outside are still waiting for me."
Suddenly, footsteps came from outside the door.
Alexander instantly pressed his ear against the iron door, listening carefully, his face bursting with joy. "See what I told you? These idiots still have to let me out! Once I'm out, I'll teach these people a good lesson!"
He stood with his hands on his hips, his face full of malice.
Now the Carr Family only had him as the heir. No matter how much Brian hated him or how angry he was, he couldn't really beat him to death or starve him to death.
The sound of a key being inserted into the lock came from outside.
Alexander had already struck a pose. "In a moment, I won't go out unless they beg me."
Hope also sparked in Hannah's eyes. As long as she could get out, she would find a way to contact Aiden.
The chains were unlocked, and the door was pushed open.
As the sunlight from outside shone in, both of them instinctively squinted, unable to adjust to the harsh light.
Victoria stood at the door against the light, holding the iron chain lock in one hand and the whip in the other.
She looked exactly like a demon emerging from hell.
She tilted her head slightly. "Surprised to see it's me?"
Alexander desperately widened his eyes to look behind her. There was nothing behind her.
Alexander immediately flew into a rage. "Why are you alone? Where's that old man? If he doesn't coax me today, I really won't go out! I'm going to make him furious!"
Hannah quietly backed away, trying to minimize her presence as much as possible.
Victoria coming here now definitely meant trouble.
She was actually glad now that the idiot still hadn't figured out the situation and was still provoking Victoria.
Victoria's laughter was clear and bright, sounding somewhat eerie in this basement.
"It's just me here to get you, but before you leave, there's a little game."
Alexander heard her laughter and involuntarily shivered.
Only now did he notice that the woman was holding a whip.
"Victoria, how dare you! What right do you have to hold our family's whip? Where did this thing come from? Did you steal it! Speak!"
Victoria casually swung it, and the whip traced an arc in the air before slamming heavily onto the ground.
Even the cement floor cracked from the impact.
Alexander swallowed, his previous arrogance completely gone.
"Ms. Spencer, since my grandfather sent you to let me out, let's just go. I've reflected on my actions these past two days. I was wrong to make grandfather angry."
