Chapter 47

So, Dorothy reopened her computer and entered the contents of the analysis report.

Her eyes were fixed on the screen.

When she saw the analysis report, she felt a sense of relief.

Because the report stated that the latest price of the Carnegie Corporation was $189 per share.

This price was half of the market price, which meant that the Carnegie Corporation was not at risk of losing money yet.

After feeling relieved, Dorothy immediately deleted the report.

The price was too low to reverse the downward trend.

Her mind was racing, thinking about how to make money and convince the shareholders to believe her.

As she was deep in thought, she suddenly noticed an account online that was continuously increasing the stock's rise.

She carefully observed the account and immediately realized that it was the account related to the analysis report she and Lawrence had signed.

A trace of surprise flashed through Dorothy's mind.

Her eyes were locked on the account, trying to find some clues, but she found nothing.

The account was just an ordinary one, and she couldn't find its owner through the account's password.

Thinking of this, Dorothy frowned. Who could this account belong to?

A picture quickly flashed in her mind.

Her eyes narrowed as she remembered the anonymous letter she received in her email.

Could this account belong to the anonymous sender?

The more Dorothy thought about it, the more she felt this was highly likely.

She quickly picked up her phone and dialed the account's number.

Soon, the phone rang, but no one answered.

Dorothy's patience ran out, and she hung up.

She dialed again.

This time, someone finally answered.

The voice was unfamiliar.

But the tone carried a hint of mockery: "Miss Carnegie, why do you like to disturb me so much? Don't you see it's after work hours?"

Hearing this voice, Dorothy knew the person wasn't the mysterious one.

She became irritated and said, "I know it's after work hours, but I need to confirm some things. I hope you can cooperate with my investigation."

"Oh, what do you need to confirm? Tell me." The man said indifferently.

"Why did you buy stocks in our company's account?" Dorothy asked.

"Oh, it's about that." The man chuckled, "I just saw the Carnegie Corporation's stock price drop, so I bought in to help you through the tough times."

"Then, may I ask, why did you buy these stocks?" Dorothy asked again.

"Your company's situation is not optimistic, and I couldn't bear to see the Carnegie Corporation collapse." The man said.

Dorothy snorted coldly.

She glanced at the analysis report.

She now suspected that the mysterious person wanted to achieve his goal through the analysis report.

And the biggest profit in the report was the highest value of the Carnegie Corporation.

Anyone with a bit of sense would know that this value was no longer suitable for stock investment.

The man also knew that what he was doing would only make the Carnegie Corporation's stock decline further.

"Miss Carnegie, you don't think I only have this one method, do you?" The man asked.

Dorothy frowned slightly, her eyes on the computer screen, then shifted her gaze to the analysis report on the opposite side, remaining silent.

Of course, she knew the other party must have more tricks up his sleeve.

"I know you're smart. You should have known long ago that I wouldn't give money to the Carnegie Corporation for nothing." The man laughed, "What I want is an exchange of interests."

An exchange of interests?

Hearing this, Dorothy's heart pounded as if she had thought of something.

"What do you mean?" Dorothy asked cautiously.

"My condition is simple. You help me modify my analysis report and, at the moment the Carnegie Corporation goes public, have the shareholders register a company and invest the analysis report into the company." The man said slowly, with a playful smile in his voice.

Dorothy took a deep breath. She knew this person must have other conditions; otherwise, he wouldn't make such a harsh request.

Dorothy didn't answer his question immediately. Her eyes darted around, thinking of a way to solve this crisis.

The man seemed to see through Dorothy's thoughts and said with a smile, "Don't worry, I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do. I just want you to help me make this analysis report."

Hearing this, Dorothy was startled.

A sharp glint flashed in her eyes.

"Okay." Dorothy's lips curled into a smile, "I can agree to help you, but I need you to promise not to disrupt my cooperation with the Stuart Corporation during this period."

"Of course." The man said with a smile.

Dorothy hung up the phone, but her doubts remained.

Why did this person choose to help her instead of going to the Stuart Corporation?

Dorothy felt a vague sense of danger.

But this sense of danger was something she couldn't stop.

Her lips parted slightly, and she softly uttered four words: "Raymond Stuart."

On the other end, as soon as Dorothy finished speaking, Raymond received her message.

He opened the message and saw it read: "I can consider it."

Raymond looked at the data, a mocking smile on his lips.

"Mr. Stuart, what are you looking at?" The assistant asked, puzzled.

"Nothing." Raymond shook his head and continued to review the documents.

The assistant saw his expression and didn't ask further, continuing with his work.

"Do you think our company is really beyond saving?" Leon, the chairman of the Carnegie Corporation, asked with a worried look as he looked at the newspaper in his hand.

Sitting opposite him was Asher Lawson, the head of the finance department of the Carnegie Corporation.

"Mr. Carnegie, this incident was an accident. No one wanted it to happen." Asher comforted.

Although Asher said this, his eyes were somewhat evasive, as if avoiding something.

"Sigh, the Carnegie Corporation has made such a big mistake." Leon sighed.

"Actually, with the current fierce competition, we are also doomed." Asher said hesitantly.

"Do you mean we should give up this project?" Leon asked, frowning.

Asher smiled bitterly, "It's something we can't help. The company's fate is like this; who can control it?"

Hearing his words, Leon fell into deep thought.
