Chapter 200: 200-A Desire To Kill Anyone Who Harms My Mate
Kedron:
I reached for him again and let my canines out.
His eyes widened in shock and terror as I bit into his shoulder and drank his blood.
His screams filled the cave. A werewolf’s bite was lethal, and a hybrid’s was even worse.
He cried out and writhed beneath me.
I hoped every monster who heard that sound would remember this night and avoid making the same mistake he made.
When I finally released him, I struck him across the face. He collapsed and lost consciousness.
I left him on the ground and moved to Yuna.
She watched me with shaky breaths, her eyes shining with relief.
I knelt beside her at once and examined the chains, careful not to hurt her further.
“You came,” she uttered in a broken voice, blinking repeatedly as if trying to confirm I was really there.
“Of course I did,” I replied. When I reached to gently touch her cheek, her body flinched. He had traumatized her severely.
A tear rolled down her face as she tilted her head and began to sniffle.
“Yuna, your mate is here. You are safe now,” I told her while placing my hands on her shoulders.
Her shoulders eased, and for the first time since I entered the cave, she looked like she could breathe again.
She tried to smile at me, but her smile faded after a few seconds and her eyes began to roll back.
“Yuna, are you okay?” I asked, growing worried as I patted her cheek and held her in my arms while she started to pass out.
She must have been so scared and tired that she would not let herself sleep out of fear.
Now that she was with me and knew her husband was here, her body finally gave in and tried to rest.
I did not try to wake her right away. I could tell she was fine because her breathing was steady.
The only problem was the blood she had lost and the lack of sleep, care, and basic needs.
She was still stuck in her old clothes in the cold. I grew wary of her condition.
I took hold of the shackles and broke the chains with care, then lifted her into my arms.
I was not going to leave Michaelson behind.
While he remained unconscious, I carried Yuna outside the cave. It was still early morning and the sun had not risen yet.
I returned inside and used the remaining chains to make new restraints for him.
Once he was secured and I was certain he could not escape, I carried Yuna again and took her to the boat.
I laid her down and rowed toward the mainland, not the vampire island.
When the boat reached the shore, the werewolf warriors noticed movement and prepared to fire, but they hesitated when they saw me.
They came closer to offer help, but I raised my hand to show that I would handle my wife myself.
“I am giving you a map. Go to this location. There is a cave. Bring me the prisoner. Make sure he is tied well and given vervain,” I told one of the warriors, giving clear instructions.
I wanted Michaelson brought here. I wanted him in front of me so I could deal with him.
I carried Yuna in my arms while many eyes watched me, likely talking about the fact that I had brought her home.
Even if she was here, it did not change that many did not want her or were afraid of her, but it did not matter.
I walked the entire way instead of taking the carriage because I wanted her to feel the fresh air.
When I reached the mansion, the commotion began.
The warriors outside were the first to react, asking each other what was happening and where I had found her or what had occurred.
I did not answer anyone and kept moving, taking Yuna to our bedroom.
It was early enough that most of the household was still asleep.
Only the warriors knew because they had seen us arrive.
Inside the bedroom, I laid her on the bed and felt relief settle in.
Her return alone made everything feel complete. I sat beside her and began tending to her wounds because she was very weak.
Even though she breathed normally, a sound came from her throat that angered me further.
I locked the room from the inside. I also locked Violet’s room, even though I had already removed her from it.
I still did not feel comfortable with it being open.
I was going to find out who helped Michaelson, because he could not have done this without someone assisting him.
Once I discovered who it was, I would see how they survived my wrath.
After about an hour, when I had cleaned her body with a wet towel, changed her clothes while she slept, and covered her with a blanket, I heard a knock on the door.
I already knew the others must have woken up and were learning about her return. When I opened the door, I realized how agitated they were.
My father, Andrea, and Sharlin stood outside. Violet and Denzel were not there.
“What is it?” I asked my father, giving him a tired look.
“I need to see you,” my father replied. “In my room.”
I shook my head to show him that was not possible.
“Talk here,” I told him. I noticed he did not like my tone or the fact that I was refusing his small orders.
“What is she doing back here?” my father asked. I started to smile sarcastically.
“What do you think she is? This is her palace. She had to return,” I answered in a snarky tone.
They were all trying to get a glimpse of her, but I blocked their sight.
“So that is why you insisted on going to Goya,” my father remarked. “You had a lead and you wanted to follow it. So you lied and told your old man you were following his mission.”
