Chapter 22: Your Highness

Nathan walked through the hallway, going to Mia's room. He placed a knock on the door, but there was no answer.

"Mia"he called out, but there was yet no reply.

"Where could she have gone to?" He asked no one in particular. And as he turned the door knob, he was surprised to see the door open. He decided to check in, and he saw Mia crying on her bed. He was so shocked to see her in that condition. He moved closer to her and sat beside her. Bringing her to rest on his chest.

"Are you really mad at me?" He gulps down nothing, feeling bad for making her cry.

"I am tired; can't I have my own life without her in it? I know she must have asked you to come here; she pretended to be the good one while I am the bad one, right? She pretended she wanted to bring us closer and never wanted to come in between us, but every time she just pops out of nowhere" she said, with a pure aggression on her face. It now dawns on Alpha Nathan that she's dealing with two different women; they can't be the same, they can never see things the same way, and their mindsets towards one another are totally different. To handle this, he would need a lot of patience and understanding.

"We got this; you know we are great" his wolf said inwardly.

"Mia, but Emma isn't that bad" he said, his voice breaking. He didn't want to say it in a way that would hurt her. She kissed him on the lips.

"Can you stop talking about her? Why don't we enjoy this night together in my room?" she said, looking at him in the eyes. He quickly turned his face away; he didn't want to be swayed by her emotions and leave Emma hanging out there for them.

",I already told you that we are spending this night together in my room. She's a part of us; you need to understand this,/" he said softly, trying not to be harsh.

"Don't you love me anymore? Is she now everything to you? Since you know why you show up here, please, your Majesty, leave my room." She said it in one tone, and he stood in amusement, wondering if it was Mia who just asked him to get out of her room. He wanted to leave, but he remembered Emma's words. She will definitely blame herself if she sees he didn't make her happy tonight; he already promised her, and that's the only way to make the two of them feel better.

"I am sorry; I really love you and can't see you hurt. All I wanted to see was that you were happy; you know my happiness lies in both."He wasn't able to complete his statement when Mia slammed her lips on his, biting it like her life depended on it. After some minutes, he couldn't restrict this and reconcile as they kissed for a long time, leaving each other in a desperate situation, that they wanted each other badly. Mia went and used her key to lock the door and started using her woman charm on him as they couldn't restrict. They had a great time as he fuck had real hard, and soon they fell to sleep.

On the other hand, Emma was feeling sleepy but couldn't sleep, expecting them to come soon. She kept yawning several times but was forcing herself not to give in to sleep, after some hours she dozed off.

The sun that penetrated from the glass to her eyes was the one that made her realize it was another new day. She shrugged as she got down from the bed, realizing she wasn't in her room, then last night stuck her head. They never went to sleep with her. She was a bit jealous, but she killed that feeling immediately.

"Maybe she insisted, and in order to make her happy, he has to sleep over in her room; I should go to my room and get ready for the new day and the rituals ahead after the marriage" she thought to herself. As she was about to walk out of the room, she met Alpha Nathan on her way.

"Good morning, My Lord" She bowed her head slightly.

"Good morning, Emma. How was your night?" He asked, trying to kiss her forehead, but she left before he could do that, and that left him pondering over how he had left her alone in the room and sleeping with Mia while he was supposed to be with the both of them.

Getting to her room, she sat on the bed, feeling bad about her attitude towards him.

"What came over me—I shouldn't have acted in that manner. Why did I even act like that?" She slapped herself several times, trying to be strong, but she figured out she was feeling bad because she waited for them almost through the night, but they kept her hanging. She decided to forget about it, so that won't haunt her. She accepted being in this relationship and would not give anyone a hard time. It's good to see them coming back together.

A knock came on her door, and immediately she opened it. Two maids are now tilting their heads slightly.

'"Good morning, my Luna; we are your new maids assigned by his majesty. Under you we shall serve" they said, and Emma wonders if they've learned the rhyme together, but she never told him she needed a maid, not to talk of two.

"I am okay; you both don't have to worry about me. I need to get ready for today" she said with a smile.

"I am sorry, your highness; please don't let us get sacked. If his highness finds out we aren't doing what we are paid for, then he will definitely fire us." They kneeled immediately, and she opened her mouth in amusement.
