Chapter 208: Our First Time

Kira’s POV

Three days. Three whole days of Adrian turning into the world’s most pathetic, lovesick puppy, and I still hadn’t let him off the hook.

Every morning, fresh flowers waited on my bedside table…massive bouquets of wildflowers mixed with my favorite Camillas, each arrangement more ridiculous than the last.

He’d bought me customized jewelry…a delicate gold necklace with a tiny wolf pendant that had both our initials engraved on the back, earrings that sparkled like stars, and a bracelet that chimed softly when I moved.

New outfits filled my closet…soft, comfy outfits in every color I loved, plus lingerie I knew he’d picked out while imagining me in it.

Yesterday he’d gone full extra. A sleek, limited-edition silver sports car had been delivered to the courtyard with my name embroidered on the leather seats in elegant script… Kira, Queen of My Heart.

He’d stood there beaming like a kid who’d brought home straight A’s, waiting for me to jump into his arms.

I didn’t. I just nodded, said “It’s nice,” and walked away.

I wasn’t even mad anymore. The anger had burned out by the morning of day two.

But now everything felt… awkward. Like I’d built this sudden wall out of stubbornness and didn’t know how to climb back down without looking stupid.

I missed him. Missed his arms, his laugh, the way he growled my name when he was inside me. But every time I opened my mouth to say “I’m not mad anymore,” nothing came out.

Leah had been screaming at me for hours. ‘Tell him already, you stubborn idiot! He’s suffering and you’re suffering. Go find our mate before I take over and drag him to bed myself!’

Tonight I’d finally decided. I was going to confront him, apologize for being difficult, and let us go back to normal. I miss my husband.

I was getting ready…brushing my hair, practicing what I’d say in the mirror…when a violent wave of nausea hit me like a truck.

My stomach lurched with a twist that had me clutching it. I dropped the brush and bolted to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before I threw up everything I’d eaten for dinner.

“Ugh…” I rinsed my mouth, but the dizziness wouldn’t stop. The room tilted as I stepped out of the bathroom, trying to steady myself on the wall.

The floor rushed up to meet me.

“Adrian—!” I tried to shout, but it came out weak.

Through blurry vision, I saw him burst into the room, a huge bouquet of fresh camellias tumbling from his hands.

“Kira!” His voice cracked with pure terror as he rushed toward me. Then everything went black.

When I woke up, I was back in bed. The light was dim as I looked around. How long was I out for?

Adrian was lying right beside me, clutching my hand like it was the only thing keeping him sane. His eyes were red-rimmed, hair messy, looking like he hadn’t slept in days.

The second he noticed my eyes open, he leaned down and pressed a long, trembling kiss to my forehead. “How are you feeling, my love?” he whispered, voice thick.

I blinked slowly, still groggy. “What… happened?”

He exhaled shakily, eyes filling with tears as a smile broke across his face. “We’re pregnant, Kira.”

I stared at him, my mind still foggy. “We? You mean I’m pregnant… and you’re pregnant too? Is that possible?”

Adrian laughed, the sound warm and relieved. He gathered me gently into his arms, burying his face in my neck and kissing the spot he loved most.

“We’re expecting our first pup,” he murmured, spreading one large, warm hand over my belly like he was already protecting what was inside.

The words sank in slowly.

Pregnant.

A baby. Our baby.

Panic exploded in my chest. “Adrian, I’m not ready to be a mother! What am I supposed to do with a child? I’m still growing myself! I don’t even know how to keep a plant alive…how am I supposed to keep a tiny human alive? What if I hit my stomach on the table? What if I drop it? What if I breastfeed wrong and it grows up traumatized? Oh my God, do werewolf babies come with teeth? Will it bite my nipple off?!”

Adrian’s shoulders shook with laughter and I slapped his arm. “What’s funny?! This is serious!”

“Absolutely nothing,” he said, still chuckling as he kissed my temple. “I just love you so much. Thank you…thank you for making me a father.”

His calming scent washed over me and I felt myself easing further into him, letting him hold me tighter.

After a long moment, I whispered against his chest, “I’m sorry for being so difficult these past few days, Adrian.”

He kissed the top of my head. “It’s alright. You’re my baby. You can do anything you want…aside from leaving me.”

I hugged him back fiercely, feeling the last of the awkwardness melt away.

“This calls for a celebration,” he said, pulling back with shining eyes. “Your crowning ceremony will be in a few days. I want to publicly declare and crown you as Queen. You’re already my queen and wife, but this is the formality…the big party in front of the entire kingdom. I want it before your bump starts showing.”

I laughed. “Isn’t it supposed to be months ahead before it starts showing? Why the hurry?”

Adrian scratched the back of his neck, looking a little guilty.

Panic slammed into me again as I remembered that stupid alien movie I watched months ago. The girl got pregnant and her belly ballooned the same day. She literally gave birth the same day!

“Adrian… is this like the alien movie?! Am I going to give birth today?! Is the baby just going to fall out of my vagina?!”

Leah burst out laughing inside my head. ‘Calm down before the baby actually falls out of your vagina.’

I screamed internally. ‘Is that possible?!’

‘Relax, I’m kidding. I’ve got you. You're not alone on this one. I’ll guide you through all of this.’

‘You've got experience? Have you gotten pregnant before?’

Leah groaned. ‘What the hell does that even mean, Kira?’

Before I could respond, Adrian pulled me closer and kissed my cheek, then my lips…slow and deep.

“Relax, my queen. The baby isn’t coming today. It just doesn’t take the full nine months for royal pups. They develop faster.”

I exhaled shakily. “So…what’s next? What do newly pregnant women do?”

He looked around the room like the answer might be hiding in a corner. “I’m actually a male, and this is my first time having a pregnant wife. I have no idea what to do next…but I'll get the royal nurse.”

I raised an eyebrow sarcastically. “So what do you know?”

A sneaky, wicked smile spread across his face. “I know exactly how to get you pregnant again after this one.”

“Go away,” I slapped his arm again, laughing. He caught my hand, kissed it, then leaned in and captured my lips properly.

The kiss started sweet…then it didn’t.

I kissed the mark on his neck, tasting his skin, feeling him shudder. The next thing I knew, clothes were gone. Skin on skin. His hands worshipped every inch of me like I was made of glass and fire at the same time.

Adrian moved over me slowly, entering me with one long, deep thrust that stole my breath.

“Kira…” he groaned, forehead pressed to mine. We rocked together…slow, intense, every stroke full of love and hunger.

He whispered how much he loved me, how beautiful I looked carrying his pup, how he’d never let me go.

I came first, crying out his name as pleasure crashed through me in waves. He followed right after, burying himself deep and spilling inside me with a low, possessive growl.

We stayed locked together, breathing hard, his hand still protectively over my belly.

Then a sharp, urgent knock sounded on the door.

“Your Majesties!”
