Chapter 37: CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN - ENRAGED

MONA’S POV

I was done with them, I thought as I got into the car, barely looking at Luka as the door closed in his face.

The driver didn't even say a word as he took me home. I sat, staring out the window silently and trying not to burst into tears when I saw my reflection in the mirror.

I felt like a clown, dressed in a gorgeous gown and with all this makeup on my face, while I felt like a fool.

Clearly, I didn’t deserve any good thing to happen to me.

Clearly, I deserved to be sad and miserable all the time.

Tears began to blur my vision as I thought about it, my heart ached and my bottom lip quivered as I tried not to start crying.

I must have the worst luck ever. I was finally able to get men interested in me but somehow they just happened to be using me.

Everyone was using me somehow, my father only brought me back here because he needed an heir anyway and the only person that could have helped to guide me through this stormy period in my life was dead.

I missed my mother.

I missed her voice and how kind she was before she got sick.

I wished that she was here with me, now more than ever.

If I had the opportunity to choose between living with my father, in this overwhelming place and having my mother back as we stayed in that ugly home.

I would pick my mother, even with our disgusting landlord and everything.

She was the only person that ever loved me.

“We are here miss,” the driver said, tapping on the car glass and I looked outside to see that we had indeed arrived back at home.

I wiped the tears that had fallen to my cheeks before I got down. I took off my heels and lifted my dress, to walk comfortably, as I tried to ignore the looks that I was getting from the maids and guards around me.

I was certain that they were all wondering why the fuck I wasn’t at prom right now, and why I looked like I had been crying, but I didn’t care, at least not anymore.

I had been crying and all I could think of now was crawling to my bed and going underneath my blankets so that I could cry some more.

I closed the door of my room behind me, feeling relieved that at least my father wasn’t around. I still had to figure out a way to tell him that his grand plan of making me choose a mate so that we could both lead the pack had gone up in flames.

“Oh mom, I really need you right now,” I said, pausing at the blue jar that held her ashes.

Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door, breaking me out of my deep thoughts.

“Who is it?” I called out, turning towards the door.

“Miss, you have a visitor?” the maid replied and I furrowed my brows in confusion.

*At this time?* It was almost eleven pm by now.

“Who is it?”

“It is Mister Luka,” she replied and my confusion quickly turned to anger.

He couldn’t possibly be serious.

Did he really come here by this time, hoping that he could change my mind or something?

*Just how highly, did he think of himself?*

“I will be down in a minute,” I replied, trying to steady my breath and control my anger. Whatever it was he had to say didn’t matter, I was going to kick that jerk out of my house.

I stormed down the stairs to find Luka seated in the living room, a sober look on his face.

“What the fuck are you doing here?” I asked angrily.

“I came here to apologize for earlier—”

“Apologize then leave then,” I said angrily, folding my arms underneath my chest.

“Look Mona, I am really sorry. I let my emotions get the better of me and I really regret it now,” he said and I scoffed in disbelief.

“Is that seriously what you came all the way here to say?” I asked, “Okay Luka, thank you for being sorry, now can you get the hell out of my house?”

“Mona, I don;t know how else you want me to apologize and I hate that you are still angry with me,” Luka sighed, seeming like he was exasperated.

“That’s the issue Luka, you honestly believe that there is something you can do to fix this and I am telling you that there isn’t. I will not change my mind about what I said earlier, tell Aster without punching him this time that we are actually done.”

“Mona please, give me one last chance, I swear I—”

“What do you need a last chance for? So you can say you won over Aster? So you can use me to brag? Forget it Luka, get the fuck out of my house before I have you thrown out,” I said angrily, watching as his gray eyes widened in shock, seeming like he couldn’t believe what I had said.

“Mona, I can understand why you are upset, but don’t you think this whole thing is a bit too extreme?” he asked and I rolled my eyes, tapping my foot on the ground impatiently.

This guy really wanted to see what I was capable of.

“Guards!!” I called out angrily and within a minute, three guards ran up to my side.

Luka looked at me like he was waiting for me to break into a smile, he didn’t honestly believe that I was going to do this.

He was going to be greatly shocked.

“Mr Everstorm here has overstayed his welcome, please escort him out of here right now,” I said and Luka’s eyes widened in shock as the guards walked over to him.

“Mona!!” Luka yelled at me as the guards touched his shirt.

“Don’t do this!! Give me another chance please!!!” he begged and I shrugged nonchalantly as the guards continued to lead him out.

“What in the hell is going on here?!!” my father asked, suddenly appearing by the door, looking from Luka’s face to mine in shock.
