Chapter 269: Contentment
The four girls, Ariel, Hailey, Lauren, and Scarlett, had gone to hang out at Hailey's place. Ariel looked at how happy everyone was and smiled. The girls looked happy, and as it was something she'd been looking forward to, she couldn't be happier. She looked at Scarlett, who had a smile on her face as she typed away on her phone and smiled too. She had seen and witnessed everything Scarlett had to go through in the hands of those maleficent people. Now that she was almost about being fully healed, how could Ariel not feel happy?
Lauren was also busy on her phone, and Ariel could definitely tell she was talking to Damon, her boyfriend. Now that the girls suddenly found their happiness, Ariel felt like she was dreaming. Even if it was a dream, she really hoped she would never wake up from the dream. It had been an endless cycle of suffering for everyone, so she just hoped everyone could finally relax. As she was zoning out, her phone chimed with a notification.
"Open the door." That was what the message said. It was from Bellamy. She knew Bellamy wasn't around, but since he was the one who asked her to open the door, she went ahead and did.
"Hello ma'am, here is your delivery. Please sign here." The deliveryman gave her the book so she could sign. After she signed, the deliveryman took the book and left. Ariel looked at the several boxes on the ground and felt a headache. Who on earth could eat all that? They were just girls, for heaven's sake.
"Found them?" Bellamy asked in a text.
"Hmm. But why all that?" Ariel couldn't help but ask.
"You said you had a girls' gathering, right? Have fun, baby. I just want you to be happy. Anyway I gotta go, I have a meeting. Talk to you later." After saying that, Bellamy went offline.
Ariel smiled when she saw his explanation. She felt warm in her heart, and she liked the feeling.
"Oh my God, what's all that?" Hailey couldn't help but exclaim when she saw the loads of things Ariel was carrying.
"Food." Ariel simply answered and placed the boxes on the table. Hailey's eyes lit up when she heard that it was food. She quickly went ahead to help. Without a doubt, Hailey knew who had ordered the food for them. She was happy and glad to know that Bellamy was considerate about Ariel. That was what mattered.
"Girls, food time." Hailey called out after arranging the food on the dining table. The food looked so appetizing that she almost drooled. Everyone knew that Hailey was a foodie, so they let her be.
In the midst of their feasting, Hailey's phone chimed. Curious, she stretched out her hand to take a look.
"Ah, why now? I don't even have clothes to wear." Hailey suddenly said in frustration. The girls at the table instantly understood that it was a text from her boyfriend, when they heard the last bit of her distressed complaint, their eyes drifted to the second floor. Hailey followed their gazes and was instantly embarrassed. She knew what that implied.
