Chapter 120: Chapter 120
Harry
I heard that people are polite at the verge of death and hearing a plead from Damien is surprising.
I cursed inwardly, knowing I had to do it. I couldn't leave Austin to die.
Besides, I'm neutral.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the task ahead. "I'll get him, Damien."
Damien's eyes seemed to clear for a moment, and he nodded, a small, grateful smile on his lips. "Thank you..."
I turned and sprinted back towards the cave but just as I turned to leave, my gaze fell on rosie.
She was stumbling, but her eyes were fixed on Damien with a desperate intensity.
My heart skipped a beat as I realized she was heading straight for the cave, her movements unsteady and wild. "Rosie, no!" I shouted, my voice lost in the chaos.
I sprinted towards her, my superhuman speed allowing me to cover the distance in an instant.
I caught her just as she was about to step into the inferno, my arms wrapping around her.
She struggled against me, her body thrashing wildly as she tried to break free. "Damien!" she screamed, her voice raw and desperate. "Let me go! I have to get to him!"
I held her tight, trying to anchor her to the spot. "Rosie, stop! He's here!" I muttered.
But she didn't seem to hear me, her eyes wild with panic as she stared at the cave.
I could feel her fear, her desperation.
I tightened my grip, holding her close as she sobbed, her body shaking with fear. "It's okay, Rosie," I whispered, trying to soothe her. "He's out."
"Where...Harry?" She muttered as she sway gently around to look at me.
"He's..."
"Damien" she called and I turned to look at him glaring at me with his hand beside his waist.
I quickly took my hand off her waist. Rosie, still shaking, her eyes red-rimmed, stumbled towards Damien, throwing her arms around him. "You're okay," she whispered, her voice trembling.
I staggered back into the cave not minding what next happens between them.
The heat was intense, the air toxic fumes made my eyes sting. I ignored it all, my focus fixed on finding Austin.
As I navigate through the terrain, my superhuman senses on high alert, I caught sight of Austin's prone form amidst the rubble.
He was pinned beneath a massive beam, his face twisted in pain.
I sprinted towards him, the ground trembling beneath my feet. With a swift motion, I lifted the beam, tossing it aside.
Austin groaned, his eyes flickering open.
"Harry," he rasped, his voice barely audible.
"I'm here, Austin," I said, hauling him to his feet. "We need to get out now."
Austin leaned heavily on me, his body battered and bruised.
"Leave...I have been trying to find you!! Not after your fake..."
"Hey, you had better keep it quiet while we get out of here"
He breath hard and then winced.
Together, we dodging falling debris and leaping over flames.
As we neared the entrance, a massive chunk of concrete crashed down, blocking our path.
I didn't hesitate – I picked Austin up, cradle him in my arms, and burst through the wreckage, shielding him from the impact.
We emerged into the blinding sunlight, the cool air a welcome relief.
I placed Austin down gently, his eyes squints.
Damien who was with Rosie, looking troubled rushed to Austin's side.
"Austin..."
Austin managed a weak smile, his eyes locked on Damien. "I'm good, Alpha."
Damien pant his back with a scoff.
"I thought I lost you" he said.
"But you wanted me dead"
Rosie and I exchanged glances with each other and then back at them like we were watching a live drama.
"I did but I told you I want to be the one to kill you"
"You're bleeding Damien. You know you can't heal!" Austin scolded and I ducked my head at him.
"Are you hurt anywhere else?" He pressed on checking Damien out.
Didn't he want bad for Damien? Why is he so concerned or am I being fooled here?
Damien sniffed like he cried.
For a moment, Rosie and I didn't exist to them.
"I'm hurt too" Rosie mused like she wanted their attention and me, I don't think I should be here.
Unfortunately, she wasn't even noticed again.
"Your hair got fried Austin"
Is that even important?
"I'm still traumatized by that"
No one is talking about the explosion.
"Come here" Damien said spreading his arms for an embrace.
"We are not 5 Damien"
But Damien was persistent as he embrace Austin, panting him gently while Austin was struggling to break out.
Rosie dropped her jaw and I shook my head as I can't unsee this. I just didn't know why I wish this had a happy ending.
They look like the perfect siblings who fights but freaks out when one of them is hurt.
"We should all go to the hospital for mental...I mean a proper check-up" i proposed fluttering my lashes.
The three of them sat at the reception while I went on to get something for them to eat.
Returning, I realized Rosie had her head on Damien's shoulder while his arm went over her shoulder.
Austin had his legs crossed as he was discussing something vital with Damien.
Fortunately, they had no major injuries and seem fine.
I presented the pizza and ice-cream to them before finding a spot to sit close to them.
Rosie seems exhausted. Of course she'd be because she wasn't interested in what these guys were talking about.
"What exactly happened?" I asked handing over a slice of pizza to Rosie but Damien pushed it away to fall back inside box.
This guy has a problem.
Rather, he picked up a slice to feed her himself.
Austin looked as though he was speculative on opening up to me and I can tell he was pertrified because I was here.
I knew his secret and opening up with only land him in trouble because Damien will feel betrayed.
You're all caught up
