Chapter 32: Until We Meet Again

The queen kisses the baby’s forehead. I can see tears gathering in her eyes as she looks at the baby with tender care. She whispers, “Grow strong little one, we will come for you when the time is right, I promise. I love you”

“Mommy is sister going leave?”

The queen responds, “Son, your sister has to leave for some time, she needs to go somewhere safe for a while.”

“But why can't we all go with her? She is too small to be alone. How long will she be gone? No Mama, I promise to keep her safe.”

“

She must get bigger and stronger for her to come back, I don’t know how long she must be gone. You are going to have to be brave, but I promise you will understand once you are older.”

“Can I hold her?”

The queen pats the spot next to her, and little Nicolas goes and sits and holds his arms out eagerly. The queen places the baby gently into his arms.

I hear little Nicolas gasp, “Mama, I can feel a warm feeling in my chest when I touch her and I feel very happy.”

“Yes, that is the bond you both share as siblings. It is a strong connection, especially in our blood line. We feel it stronger than other wolves.

That makes him smile, “Mama, I love her so much already, does she really have to leave.”

The queen shuts her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. Before she can answer someone comes in thought, the door, and with the door open, you can hear a commotion at a distance.

It is a younger looking Emilio, “Your majesty, the castle is starting to get breached, the king is almost here with support.”

I hear the sadness in her voice, “I was hoping Santi would at least get to meet her, but it is more important for her to be out of here before they reach this wing of the castle.”

The queen hugs and kisses the baby’s forehead one again and takes an inhale of the baby’s scent.”Until we meet again little one.”

Little Nicolas kisses the baby’s cheek and by his posture you can tell he doesn't want to let the baby go.

Emilio approaches, takes the baby from Nicolas and wraps the baby in a thicker blanket. He turns to Queen Isabella, “I promise to take very good care of her and make sure she is treated well at the pack we will be staying at.”

The queen nods her head once, “Theres no other wolf we would trust as much as you for this, please protect her. Take her away before I make this harder for you and order you to leave her here with up please.”

Emilio rushes out while saying, “You have my word.”

I am suddenly being pulled out of the vision but as that is happening I hear the queen let out a painful wail and then hear very loud howl coming from somewhere else, It sounds to be coming from outside the castle.

Something about that howl pulls at my chest and makes it ache.

End of dream

I wake up with a gasp and notice I am back in my room. I touch my face and notice that I am crying.

Something about that dream made it seem too real and makes me feel that was more than a dream and maybe some type of vision of what happened at my birth.

At the same time the rational side of me wants to believe it's just a dream conjured up by my mind with everything that is going on.

Now that I have slept, I do feel a bit lighter even though I was thrown off by that dream. I feel the need to vent, and I know Mia is always there to listen to me and my issues as much as I will always be there for her when she needs me. I mind link her to meet up and she agrees right away. I rush off to get ready and tell her everything, including about the dream.

Mia look flablergasted, “Wow, Jade I my brain feels like it has so many open tabs I don't even know where to begin.”

She looks at me with concern, “Sorry, I needed time to perocess all that. But first things first,how are you doing with all this, I mean I can tell you’re not doing all that great, do you even know what is going to happen now that everything is being revealed?”

“Honestly, yesterday was hard. I feel better today, I think the dream has made me consider seriously talking to my biological family and looking into what happened back then. I feel that there are still so many unanswered questions.”

“You know I am here if you need anything even if it is just a listening ear. But I think you also have to ask what they are expecting from you now that you know. Like are they gonig publicly going to give you your royal tittle because that changes your whole life direction.” Mia has begun to ramble the way she usually does when she is concerned.

"I know, it just that the dream has really thown me off. It almost felt as if I was lookng into the past, I even sensed everything they were feeling at the time. Maybe it was just the dream itself but it felt soo real."

I paused deep in thought before continuing.

“Right now, I just needed to get all that off my chest and you have given me more food for thought that I would like to process. But a bit of a change is subject, how is going with the cute guy from the coffee shop you met the other day?”

Needing a change of subject for a moment, I know I can address all the thing Mia mentioned later with my family.

Then Mia begins telling me about her current situationship, making me giggle and puke at the same time when she mentions something about the guy being “hot but not Liam hot.”

Still there is a constant echo at the back of my head of a soft broken voice saying, “until we meet again little one.”
