Chapter 22
The only thing I felt was my body moving up and down where I sat. Spurring those eyes open, I found them dead.
He made an attempt again to teleport and he succeeded. Here I am in his room.
He took me out of the suit and laid on his royal bed. His suit, which was eventually the robot, scans my vitals for any damage or complications.
I was buried on the bed I laid, covered with a thick blanket. I couldn't close my eyes after he had teleported me back to the palace.
I seem perfectly fine but still shocked. My friend in the palace turns out to belong to arakan!
Then it certainly means this robot only aided me because of its controller. I wonder if Arakan has me watch it everywhere.
He also got out of Nick and made the robot rest at a corner, a distance from us while his constant gaze on me was bewildering.
I rose from the bed as he held my hand, looking worried and sick, just like the first time when he found me there.
He pants heavily and then his soft gaze on me faded as it was replaced by anger.
"What were you doing there? Huh? Didn't I tell you I want to be the one to end you!" He scolded me and I shuddered.
Was that his way of saying 'I was worried sick over you?'
The last time I checked, he claimed I would face my judgment for assassinating him.
Possibly, he seems confused. I shoved his hand away from my grip, still pondering on the reason he came back for me when he wanted me dead.
I didn't want to reply at first but then, I just have to make something clear.
"You sent me there" I barked and he scoffed, seemingly curious and anxious about something.
He wasn't the only one mad, I was too because he brought me back to my nightmare.
Why does he keep doing this to me? When I intend to forget about him, he keeps coming back leaving me with option than to fall for him.
"Why would I send you there when I..." He paused breathing hard while I sat upright on the bed.
It was puzzling for him to say those words because from his assertion, he had no idea I was being sent to that terrifying forest.
He licked his lower lips subconsciously, a habit he was fond of when nervous. He breathes softly, certainly trying not to yell at me.
It wasn't my fault, the instructions had his name on it. I felt he'd send me to such a dangerous place.
Although, his errands were always within the palace and not outside and so I just thought he wanted to end me for the conversation we had earlier.
"I didn't send you there, someone must have" he said in a poise manner while dragging a chair with his powers.
How easily he uses it, all he had to do was swipe a finger at the chair and it flips over to his side.
I rolled my eyes and found Nick, the busy robot fueling itself after the fight. His battery was low and he needed to recharge.
Arakan asked me to narrate what exactly transpired when he left me. He drew my attention to him and I guess his spy, Nick, didn't do his job properly tonight.
Now I see how he knows if I were in danger, or being abused. He always appears like the heroes in tales I've read.
It took a while for me to maintain tranquility as I was still lost. His stare, curiously eating me off and the pain I felt around my neck wasn't there anymore.
I did narrate the fact that a soldier came disguising that arakan sent me to find some jellies in the forest and then encountered some aliens, fell subconscious and boom, i was in a scientist lab, stuck with him.
Although, I skipped the part about the strange powers which I developed recently. It was quite a saving grace, just that it wasn't controllable.
"Who's he? And how dare he use my name!" He barks as his eyes burn and it sends chills to my spine.
He was wroth and I felt he might burn off everything here. My eyes lowered at him and he was staring at me so affectionately that everything stopped.
His lips were moving but I couldn't get a sound as it was only his looks that occupied my mind.
"Can you recognize him if you see him?" He pressed on and that line shook off every thought from my mind.
I shrugged my shoulders, having no idea but I could recognize his face. I was too exhausted to start a conversation with him.
Besides, I should be loathing him and not fall for his compassionate gaze. He was holding my hand firmly this time.
His grip on me was shaky and when I met his gaze again, I sensed fear and grief in them.
"Nick, find that soldier and have him publicly killed" he orders, although attempting not to raise his voice.
I was taken aback as Nick rolled his head at us and disconnected from the switch which it inserted on itself.
Nick steps back and responds in a natural tone while leaving us alone.
"Where else are you hurt?" He pressed on. I was silent as his hands explored my body but I stopped him halfway as a sensation tends to be flooding me inside.
It wasn't as though he'd heal me from the heartbreak I received. I rubbed my throbbing head as I just wanted to avoid him.
"Nowhere" I responded with a frown and about to rise but then he made me sit back and then cupped my cheeks in his palms.
I was glaring at him with hatred as the thought of my kind rings inside my head.
"I hate it when you gaze at me like that, do I piss you off?" He said in a sad tone and I folded my lips, afraid of what I'd say.
I swallowed hard and then blew out air, as he made me feel hot inside, thirsty and tired.
"Tell me, Lena, I'd try to change it, anything I just...I don't know what to call but your cold attitude hurts, right here" he mutters as he took my palm and placed it on his chest.
His heartbeat was fast, he seemed tense, restless as his eyes searched mine.
I felt so emotional as he spoke. He made me want to cry.
I took my hand away as tears brewed in my eyes. Finally, I decided to speak up since he asked for it.
"I'm scared, for my kind, for what I'd term as an affair, what if I end up like them, would I ever have a future?" I cried falling on his chest and shivering.
He heaved a sigh and wrapped me in his arms. My body pushes closer to him as his breath fans me.
There was something so warm, something that felt right, smelt right. I let my body sag, my muscles become loose. He gave me the respect of an equal but cradled me like a cherished child.
In that embrace I felt my worries lose their keen sting and my optimism raised its head from the dirt.
I heaved softly as though everything had ended but it was just a part of me being relieved.
"I'm sorry for making you feel that way" he confesses and it melts my heart as I didn't expect he'd say those words.
I heard he never admits his wrongs but he just did. I felt like kissing him for that affection he had shown.
Perhaps, I was wrong about him, he was just a gentleman in disguise.
"I want something arakan" I whispered, raising my head to gaze at him.
"Ask me anything and I will see to it that it's granted" he says affectionately that I had to contemplate if it were the right time to bring up such a suggestion but then there was no harm to requesting.
I just discovered something about him, his sudden attachment towards must be the feeling he tried so hard to hide.
Love, I'd call it and my ticket to ending him.
