Chapter 46 No Way

Chapter 46 No Way

Eirlys sneered, "That's ten million dollars!"

"I know, thanks to you, Eirlys, I made thirty million in ten minutes. We're sisters, so I'll lend you some to get you out of this jam."

Eirlys had no idea what she was rambling about, but suddenly, Lila grabbed her phone and sweetly spoke into the camera, "Thanks for your gifts. Oh, what did you ask, top supporter? Make this girl disappear in thirty seconds? That's not very nice. She's so chubby she probably can't run that fast in thirty seconds."

Eirlys was getting more and more confused. What was Lila up to?

What gifts?

She walked closer to see what was going on, and one look almost made her faint.

Lila was live-streaming!

And the camera was pointed right at her, so her embarrassing moment had just been witnessed by 10.9 million viewers nationwide!

"Lila! Who told you to start a live stream?!"

Lila looked innocent, "Didn't you just ask me to turn on the beauty filter? I just followed the prompts, and somehow it started the live stream. But Eirlys, you're so beautiful, no need to be shy about everyone seeing you."

"Turn it off, turn it off right now!" Eirlys was losing it, lunging to grab the phone.

"Hey, don't come over here. Your clothes are a mess. If my account gets banned for inappropriate content, I won't be able to withdraw the ten million dollars to bail you out."

Eirlys was on the verge of tears, torn between turning it off and losing face or keeping it on and losing money.

She stomped her foot, veins bulging on her forehead, and her clothes, already strained, tore even more.

"I hate you, I hate you! Just wait, I won't let you get away with this!"

She ran upstairs, looking as pitiful as could be.

Lila calmly ended the live stream and sent a message to her influencer friend.

[Your account with 30 million followers is amazing. In two minutes, 9 million viewers joined. I owe you one, dinner's on me next time.]

The reply came instantly.

[Dinner's not necessary. I'm invited to a fashion gala next month. I'll need a dress for the evening, so I'll count on you, top designer.]

Lila smirked, about to reply when she noticed the time on her phone.

Oh no, Killian was waiting downstairs!

Lila quickly picked out a white outfit from the store.

After paying, she dashed downstairs, grabbing free samples from the makeup counter on the way.

With her natural beauty, she didn't need much. A bit of foundation, some eyeliner, and she looked better than any top celebrity.

She chose a soft pink lipstick for the final touch.

Racing against time, she sprinted towards the car.

As soon as she opened the door, a blast of cold air hit her.

Shivering, she collapsed into the back seat, out of breath.

Inside, Killian, who had just finished a cross-continental video call, two urgent phone calls, and three business documents, was about to lose his temper.

But when he saw Lila's stunning face, his pent-up frustration vanished.

He knew she was pretty, but he hadn't expected her to be this breathtaking.

"Killian, why are you staring at me? I'm not late!"

His intense gaze made her wonder if she was late after all.

"Hmm." He grunted, "You're not late, but I don't like your makeup. Don't wear it again."

He realized he was a bit nervous saying this.

Lila was stunned.

"Seriously? This morning, you said I looked ugly without makeup, now I put some on, and you don't like it? Do you just hate my face?"

"Don't get me wrong, I don't hate your face..." he said calmly.

Lila was about to relax when he added, "I hate you as a person."

"No wonder people want to kill you with that sharp tongue," Lila muttered, but in the small car, Killian heard every word.

"Are you the one trying to kill me?" He asked.

She almost choked on her own spit.

She had barely managed to fool him, and now one slip-up ruined it all.

Nervously, she avoided his gaze, "You misunderstood. Your assassination attempt was all over the news. It wasn't just on the financial headlines, it took over the entertainment section too... I swear, I wasn't mocking you, I just said it without thinking."

His voice was low, "The news didn't say I was being hunted."

Lila regretted her words, "I guessed because I noticed your injuries. If it were a car accident, the wounds wouldn't be so localized. It had to be something else, like being hunted?"

She spoke cautiously, afraid of saying the wrong thing and being subjected to Killian's twisted tests again.

"Your observation skills are impressive."

"Of course, who do you think I am?" Killian's next words made Lila's face turn bright red.

"If you're so sharp, how did you miss the bite marks and scratches on me? Guess how I got those?"

The atmosphere in the luxury car suddenly became charged with tension.

"I don't know! Just talk, don't start unbuttoning your shirt!"

"That night, I told you to stop, but you didn't." Killian's voice was deep and husky.

Lila backed away, but soon her back was against the cold window.

Killian wasn't even the one who suffered. Why was he acting like the victim?

If she had known, she would have killed him after sleeping with him to save herself the daily fear.

Killian's face was so close she could feel his breath on her skin, sending shivers down her spine.

Assistant Charles saw the dangerous scene in the rearview mirror and almost had a fit.

The tires screeched against the pavement.

"Are you trying to get us killed?" Killian snapped.

"Mr. Hart, we've arrived at the Civic Center."
