Chapter 111: Lisandra & Desmond
One thing that Darya realized from all her lives is that she remembers the life of the body she gets transmigrated to when it is in another world. And she would not remember the memories of the original owner of the body if she transmigrated into another body in the same world. It started in her eleventh life. She could remember the memories of the bodies she gets transmigrated to and she started getting transmigrated in another world every life. Just like now.
This time, Darya lived a long life as she started from when she was born from her biological parents until high school. So far, she had not met someone like Esteban, Renald, Kael, and Zeron that she held dear to her heart.
During all these years she lived in this different world, she had finally moved on from the lingering feelings she had and this time, she would try not to be attached to anyone. This is why… she had no friends.
To her parents’ view, they first thought that there is something wrong with their daughter as she acts too mature in her young age. They visited a psychologist and they were told that their daughter might have a mental illness but she is harmless. She does not need medication and she should just be left living on her own will. Because of this, in her young age, her parents do not decide on what she wants and they let her be. As long as she does not cause trouble then everything is okay.
Lisandra had been consecutively the smartest student in every school she attended. Her scores in every exam are always 2 times higher than the second place in the campus. She would win academic competitions and even in sports. Even her teachers are wary of her because they are worried about being corrected by a student. However, in Lisandra’s point of view, she just does not care and she does not plan on making another title in her name.
Smart, elegant, sporty, princess, queen, campus crush, and favourite are just some of the adjectives her classmates and schoolmates call her. She was surrounded by many people but she never considered any of them as a friend because of her one principle “to not be attached to anyone”.
She has approximately lived thirteen lives now. All of her emotions are slowly disappearing as time goes by.
To not be entangled with her previous classmates, Lisandra decided to go abroad for college after being invited by a prestigious university. With a good scholarship, she does need to rely on her parents for money but because her parents are still worried about her, they would send pocket money to her monthly.
Linsandra took architecture with a reason “to try it”. During her first week, she immediately took an interest in her field and started looking forward to it. Her college life was smooth but she is constantly reminded of her death of what kind would it be? Would it be because of overworking and stress? This is why she is taking her course lightly. Is it an accident? This is why she did not take a car and lived in a nearby condominium. Is it an illness? Every two months, she would take a full body exam for medication. And why is she doing this? It is because…
“It is a pleasant day to everyone in this room. I am Desmond Allivar, the President of the Supreme Student Council in this school year…”
She recently broke her only principle for a man she did not even have a chance to talk to. Desmond… his name is somewhat familiar to her and as a former Emperor, she can feel a sense of great leadership to this man. It was a whim. She did not even realize that she started thinking of him after just seeing him on the stage to introduce himself. Among the thousands of students, Lisandra is one of those who admired President Desmond at that moment.
Because of Lisandra’s current enthusiasm, in just one semester, she was able to build a physical model of their university. The university bought her work and displayed it on the administrative building of the university. This is why students have recognized her name as her masterpiece was placed in a space where everyone could see.
Linsadra thought that everything was going smoothly in her college life but she did not realize that her constant achievements made many students envy her. One of these is one of the supreme student council’s representatives. She specifically does not care about other students until she accidentally sees Lisandra’s photo on the lockscreen of the President of the Supreme Student Council. She would also constantly notice Desmond looking at the surroundings as if looking for someone and the worst is catching him looking towards Lisandra’s direction. This drove her mad to the extent that she planned on hitting her with a car.
Lisandra was on her usual schedule. She was on her way home and instinctively looked sideways only to see a car approaching in her direction. She stood there in shock and at that moment, she realized that she forgot the fate she had. Is this how she is going to die again? And just as she closed her eyes to accept death, she felt her hand being grabbed by someone and she was pulled somewhere and when she opened her eyes, she was being embraced by the person she never thought she would cross paths with.
“Are you alright?” Desmond felt like his heart was being hammered while checking on Lisandra’s body. He did not even realize that he was the one who bravely pulled Lisandra, leading him to fall and hit his head on the ground.
Lisandra immediately noticed that Desmond was bleeding after seeing the blood on the ground. “You’re bleeding!” She touched the back of his head and held him in her arms. “Call 911!”
Desmond was brought to the hospital and Lisandra did not leave him. She got his parent’s number through his ID card and called his parents to notify them. After that, she went out to buy some food to eat. When she was back, Desmond had already woken up. And he was surprised to see her coming inside.
“Hello.” Lisandra greeted him and put the food she brought to the table.
“I am Lisandra. You saved me earlier and I am here to take care of you.” She beamed. “Are you feeling well? Please tell me if you feel uncomfortable somewhere so I can call the doctor.”
Desmond’s ears reddened and he was speechless for a few seconds because he could not believe that it was not a hallucination. He could not believe that he was talking to the woman in his dreams.
“Are you perhaps hungry? I bought fruits and noodles. I have an apple here. Do you want to eat some?”
Desmond was so speechless that he just found himself nodding.
“Do you like the peeled one or not?”
“Peeled.”
“Good. I like the peeled one as well.” Lisandra chuckled.
Desmond’s face heated at the sight of Lisandra’s smile and with her careful hand peeling the apples. This situation is as if… they’re partners— heavens, Desmond! Don’t dream! It has not happened yet!
He slightly slapped his cheeks to not have any thoughts and just looked for his phone—
“Are you looking for your phone?”
“Yes.”
“It’s here.” Lisandra took out his phone from her bag and gave it to him.
“I already notified your parents through the emergency number in your ID.”
Desmond thanked her but as soon as he opened his phone, his eyes widened upon realizing the photo on his screen. A photo of a knight-like woman, bravely leading a battlefield, looking mighty, beautiful;, and ecstatic.
“I was curious about that.”
His heart almost jumped out of his chest after hearing Lisandra’s voice. He looked at her and immediately felt embarrassed.
“Was that a painting?” Lisandra inquired about the photo on his screen.
It was a long silence before he replied. “Yes.”
“Did you draw that before you met me?”
“Yes.”
Lisandra finished slicing the apples and walked towards him to give it to him while Desmond could not look in her eyes.
“Have you perhaps dreamt of me?” Lisandra looked into his eyes.
Desmond could only admit it. He nodded. “Yes.”
“Then this is fate.” Lisandra sighed in relief.
Desmond finally looked at her as their eyes met. It was as if… he was looking to an infinite ecstatic realm.
Lisandra leaned closer to Desmond’s face. “Somehow, I am very comfortable with you. I want to marry you right away but first, let’s be friends.”
Desmond was speechless with her straightforwardness but how can they be friends when she proposed to him like that? He felt the tingles in his heart and he immediately gave in. “Okay.”
Lisandra chuckled, touched his jawline, leaned in as she touched her lips to his sensitivity. Desmond’s head exploded like a volcano.
After that night, they became “friends”. Yes, friends but they kiss every time Desmond sends her to her apartment. The campus was surprised to see two great people being together. Rumors that they are dating circulated around the campus but when the two of them are asked about their relationship, they would say that they are “friends.” However, when Desmond graduated in his course, they took their friendship to the next level.
