Chapter 110: Araya & Zeron 2

Since that day, Araya was never bothered by anyone in the school except for Zeron. Everyone was afraid to get close to her because it has already spread in the whole school about what she did to Yuna. She was sued by Yuna’s parents to the police but she defended herself and made her teachers speak up for her. In the end, Yuna left the school out of embarrassment.

It was peaceful then. Araya is always with Zeron when there is free time. They would date on the weekends and have fun with only the two of them. Araya was indeed happy with Zeron but every day, she would regret feeling the ecstasy of their relationship. As day passes by, her remorse grows deeper and deeper because she knows that she is the one that will suffer in the end.

It was the end of the school year. Their batch graduated high school and the next school year, they will be in college. Everyone was happy to be accepted in the universities they chose but what Zeron does not know is that Araya is moving to a foreign country for college.

Araya grabbed Zeron’s hand and pressed it. “I should go. My parents are waiting for me.”

“Yes. Please take care.” Zeron pinched her cheeks and kissed her forehead.

“Pick me up at 7 PM. I have something to tell you.” Araya smiled, thinking that she would tell him about moving to a foreign country.

“Okay. See you.” Zeron smiled and waved his hand as she walked towards the parking lot.

As soon as she turned her back, her smile became bitter and asked herself, How should I forget about this? How is she going to move on?

“What took you so long?” Araya’s mother was irritated.

“I’m sorry.”

“Get in the car.” Her father ordered with a gentle smile.

She nodded and went to the back seat. She looked at the school once more before they drove to the highway not knowing that fate is unpredictable.

A loud screetch was heard from the outside gate of the school. It was so loud that it caught the attention of everyone who was still inside the school.

“There was a car accident!”

Upon hearing about this, Zeron’s eyes were wide remembering that Araya just left a while ago. His heart tightened as he ran towards the gate, praying that he was just thinking negatively. As soon as he saw Araya’s car not too far from the school, his body went numb as he almost fell to the ground. The car was smashed by another car.

“A-Araya…” He could only utter her name as he ran towards the car but the school guard grabbed him.

“Sir, please don’t run any closer. There might be an explosion—

Boom! There was an explosion seconds later, making Zeron’s world explode with it.

“ARAYA!” He screamed his voice out as he struggled with the guard’s grasp. All his remorse fuelled his cry as he watched the car being covered by the flames.

When the rescue came, all his strength was gone because all students and teachers present at that time tried all their best to stop him from running towards the scene. He wanted to go rampage and kill everyone who did not rescue the car right away. He wanted to put them in a car and burn them in the flames while their loved ones were watching, so they could feel what he was feeling. But it was too late…

Too late to rescue everyone. Her parents… and Araya… were in the flames. No one dared to look at the dead bodies but Zeron was able to do it. He was able to numb his body while he looked at the burnt necklace he gave to Araya just a moment ago.

It was just a moment ago, they were talking. She said to him that they are going to meet. She said to him that she is going to tell her something. Just a moment ago, he was with everything. And now she is gone. He would not dare live a good life.

That very moment, Zeron gave up his good future. After finding out that Yura’s family was behind the accident, he became a mad man and chose to become a murderer. He made Yura watch her parents’ car burn in flames. While being burnt, he made Yura’s parents watch their daughter hang herself.

“I know that you won’t be happy with this, Araya, but I could not just feel you. I could not feel you when I wasn't doing this.” He was crying while looking at Araya's photo. The scene on his back was awful. “I am sorry but I want to meet you again. You told me that reincarnation is true so I want to be reincarnated… as a better man for you.”

After surrendering to the police, the medicine he took finally showed an effect and Zeron died in his sleep in the prison.

In the Largoth Empire, there is a new place that was built after the death of Emperor Darya, The Great. It is the “Daesandra” where the late Emperor and her two concubines were buried. It was an extremely secure place that not even nobles could go in without the permission from the current Emperor. No one was able to get close to the place and people can only dream of seeing it from a far.

It was known all over the Empire that gods have preserved Emperor Darya’s body and that her body was solidified after losing her breath. The statue of the late Emperor was embracing her favoured concubine, the third, which is General Theobarlt. Her statue was so detailed that one could conclude that she is resting in peace beside the tomb of her concubine. Her exquisite beauty was still visible and no matter how many years passed by, her statue remained the same. Even plants won’t crawl to it. It was a legendary statue that one would pray to whenever they looked at it. It has also become a legend that whenever you pray while facing it, you will be granted with great fortune in life.

In any academy in the Largoth Empire, Emperor Darya’s history is studied as she remained the most popular figure all over the world.

“Have you heard that His Majesty is visiting Daesandra more often?” Rumors are circulating around the insides of the Imperial walls.

“Was that true?”

“Yes. I confirmed it from one of His Majesty’s knights. He said that His Majesty would sit beside the statue and hold Emperor Darya’s hand.”

“That’s new. When His Majesty ascended to the throne, he would only visit Daesandra once in two months.”

“Is His Majesty missing his late wife because of the noble’s suggestion?”

“Do you think that His Majesty would just take an Empress after having such a great wife?”

“I doubt he would take an Empress. His Majesty would likely just take a noble lady to be just a concubine.”

However, just as these rumours spread inside the Imperial Palace walls, they were shut with one statement from the Emperor.

“There shall no and never anyone be regarded as my spouse until my last breath. Anyone who mentions marriage shall be convicted of a crime of blasphemy.”

Emperor Lorenzo was devastated by the fact that some of the nobles mentioned to him about having an heir to continue the legacy of the Imperial Family. He would also get angry when noble women tried to propose marriage to him. This is why he made a final statement to stop this idea.

As soon as the moon was clear in the sky and the palace was quiet, he made his way towards the late Emperor’s chambers which he specifically maintained tidy. He dropped himself to the bed and smelled the late Emperor’s perfume.

It was a silent moment where his heart tightened even more and tears were suddenly forming in his eyes as he remembered his past with her. He does not believe in a mere dream but it keeps showing whenever he sleeps that he could not ignore it anymore.

He still could not believe the flames in front of his eyes as he watched the car explode. Since the night he had such dreams, he would weaken whenever he sees fire as if he is looking at that scene again. Now, Emperor Lorenzo would set a time to go to Daesandra, looking at his lover’s face while praying that his dreams would not happen.

“Araya, I am sorry that I did not become a better man for you.” He embraced the late Emperor’s pillow. “If we meet again, I will die for you.”
